Mr Alpha, I Am Not Your Typical Lady!-Chapter 97) Ranked overall first among the strongest werewolves.
Chapter 97: Chapter 97) Ranked overall first among the strongest werewolves.
I hissed and stopped staring at Alpha Dylan. Rather, I rushed to Lucinda’s side.
Lucinda was something like two steps away from me.
I knelt beside her and took her right hand.
I was checking her pulse when Alpha Dylan asked me, "How is she and the baby? Are they both okay?".
After letting go of Lucinda’s hand, I turned to Alpha Dylan with a bright smile on my face. "Congratulations, Alpha Dylan. Lucinda and the baby are both going to be alright". I said to him and did not fail to notice the way he clenched both his fists and must have secretly gritted his teeth.
Nurse Barbara came to me. She was sweating profoundly.
"What is it?". I asked her upon looking at her.
"Doctor Rebecca, I know I panicked earlier and shouted demon. But, I want to be sure. Is she really a demon?". She asked me. There was a curious look in her eyes.
I know nurse Barbara too well. Although she was a nurse, she was a scaredy-cat.
I rose up to my feet. Looking at everyone except Alpha Dylan, I saw the curious look on their faces too.
"This issue must be urgently reported to Alpha Anastasia and the Elders. And, no, nurse Barbara. Lucinda is not a demon. She is a normal werewolf. But I strongly believe that she came across a demon before she lost consciousness and was later possessed by that demon’s power". I replied to nurse Barbara, and in an instant, her eyes widened after she gasped in shock. She lost control of her legs and fell to the ground looking completely helpless.
"So- so, demons are real? And they are here with us?". Nurse Barbara muttered.
Horror was written all over her face. Especially her eyes, which were still wide open.
"Get yourself together, nurse Barbara. What are you afraid of?". My voice was low, but in a way, I scolded her.
"What do you mean by those words, doctor? Are you trying to inform everyone that demons are real, just because my woman acted like she was possessed? Wait a minute here. Are you possibly a follower of that old Lycan King who told everyone that his pack was attacked, and that his family, the Lycans and some of his werewolf subjects were killed by a creature who looked like a man but was a demon?". Alpha Dylan asked me and I turned to him before he scoffed.
"Point of correction, Alpha Dylan. The Lycan King is not an old man. I am sure you know that. He only started wearing a black mask on his face when he was 13 years old, and since then, no one, not even his subjects, knows his current face appearance. And now, he is only 33 years old". I said to him, and he remained silent.
Before I could turn away from him, he added, "You even know his actual age? And how sure are you that his subjects haven’t seen his current appearance? You and that Lycan King must be very close to each other, doctor. No wonder you want to make use of this rare opportunity to make everyone believe that demons are real. You want everyone to believe that the Lycan King is innocent and that his pack was actually attacked by a demon twenty years ago".
I did not reply to Alpha Dylan because I did not want to.
Although he is an Alpha, he was senseless. I am certain that he saw the dark aura that enveloped Lucinda earlier, so what is he trying to mean by that?
I ignored him, and turning to the nurses, I ordered them, "Take our patient and transfer her to our isolation room. She would have to stay there and be treated there until further notice".
"Ye- yes, doctor Rebecca". One of the nurses, who was a male and named Zeke, replied to me.
He moved ahead of the other nurses and single handedly carried the unconscious Lucinda in his strong arms.
He was about to leave the ward, but Alpha Dylan came and blocked his path.
"Where do you think you are taking my woman to?". Alpha Dylan glared at nurse Zeke as he questioned him.
"Nurse Zeke, what the heck are you waiting for? Quickly take her away to the isolation room!". I ordered him, not caring a damn about Alpha Dylan.
Alpha Dylan stubbornly refused to move out of the way.
Every time that nurse Zeke attempted to leave the ward by walking past Alpha Dylan, Alpha Dylan continuously blocked his path.
Growing tired of the drama, I walked towards them and collected Lucinda from nurse Zeke’s arms.
Now, I was the one carrying Lucinda in my arms.
"Move, Alpha Dylan". I said to him. The look on my face was straight and void of emotions. I was not in the mood to chit-chat with someone who tried to murder his own child.
Yeah, Lucinda must have done something to offend him.
But that should not have given him the right to hurt her and her baby!
"I am not going to allow you to take my woman to any isolation room, doctor! What don’t you understand by that?! Yes. My woman behaved strangely, like she was possessed by something. But that does not mean she is possessed by any demon. Demons are not real. They do not exist! And even if they do exist, why would they be up here with us? They should be in the freaking underworld!". Alpha Dylan yelled at me, and when he tried to snatch Lucinda from me, I turned to the side in a flash and kicked him away.
Alpha Dylan did not fall to the ground, but, at least, my kick made him lose his balance and almost succeeded in making him fall to the ground.
Alpha Dylan’s back was facing me, so he stayed in that position for a few seconds, before he straightened his back and turned around. He looked at me, confused.
I bet he never expected me to be strong enough to do that to him.
Even the nurses opened their mouths wide, as if they could not believe what their eyes had just witnessed.
I must have gotten old. It is no wonder that this generation does not remember who I used to be, before I kept a very low profile and became a certified doctor.
They must think that I am simply an ordinary fifty-year-old doctor.
But they must have forgotten that, when I was twenty years old, I used to be ranked overall first among all the strongest werewolves in the entire werewolf packs, as I was born extraordinarily strong.
I am not the Alpha of the shadows’ pack today only because I had no interest in becoming a ruler. Back then, I was so certain that if I defeated Alpha Ashton, who had newly taken over the role of Alpha after his father died, the ancient tree would have chosen me.
But I always believed that I wasn’t born to become a ruler. I believed it was someone else’s destiny to become that.
