"You again". I said, but my voice was not too loud as I did not want the attention of the werewolves to be on us.

’Beta Damien, if you can hear me right now, come to the 11th district road where there is a fish stall on the opposite side of the road. Come quickly. The Lycan king has appeared again’. I mind - linked him.

The Lycan king stood properly, since I had pushed him away earlier.

"What are you doing in my shadows’ pack, Lycan king? What a splendid surprise. I thought no one, including your werewolves, had ever seen your face before. So, why did you decide to show me your face today?". I frowned and asked him.

He walked towards me while I gradually retreated from him.

’Clara, this is the Lycan king standing in front of you. Are you not going to escape from him? Have you forgotten what happened to you the last time the Lycan king stood in front of you? You fainted’.

’That’s not going to happen anymore, Elektra. I am not going to allow that to happen. Since I have accepted my fate as the Alpha of the shadows’ pack, if he is a threat to the shadows’ pack, I will have no other choice but to fight him’.

’But-’.

’No buts, Elektra’.

’Alright, Clara. But make sure you destroy him with your powers in case both of you start fighting each other’.

’Sure’.

The Lycan king continued to walk towards me. He said to me, "You are not just anyone. You are my mate".

My frown deepened. My eyes were still fixed on his face.

As I continued to retreat from him, I told him, "I think you are sick in the head, Mr Lycan King. My mate is Alpha Dylan, and we have proudly rejected each other. You can not just intrude into my pack and start spouting nonsense".

"You know I am not spouting nonsense". His eyes glowed as he said this to me.

I wanted to yell at him, but why did I feel like he was telling the truth?

I feel very comfortable and drawn to him. But how is this possible? I halted when I noticed that my retreating action had started to get the attention of the passersby and the shop and stall owners.

The Lycan king halted too.

Turning behind me, I saw fireball and Irving. It turned out that they had been retreating too.

Seriously? Retreating?

Why did they not protect me from the Lycan king exactly like they had done with Damien?

"Until we meet again, my mate. The next time you see me, that will be the day I claim you as mine and take you away". He said to me.

"Wait, what?". I was confused. Before I could ask him any questions, I sensed Beta Damien’s aura and turned to him. He was coming from behind me.

I was relieved to see Beta Damien.

But when I turned to the Lycan king, he was nowhere to be found.

How the heck does he keep doing that?!

Beta Damien arrived at where I was standing, and he stood in front of me.

"The Lycan king has gotten away". I told him despite him not asking me any questions. Since he hadn’t met the Lycan king, I thought he would think I lied to him once again.

"I believe you, Alpha. I sensed a very strong aura. It must belong to the Lycan king. He didn’t leave any of his scent behind, so it would be hard for me to track him. But don’t worry. I will find him!". Beta Damien said to me before he instantly left.

’I don’t think beta Damien would be able to track the Lycan king’.

"I know, Elektra. The Lycan king is out of our league". I replied to her and sighed.

Later, I went to the fish stall and bought some fish for fireball and Irving. I found a quiet place and decided to stay there.

It was outside the shadows’ pack restricted forest, where there were large rocks and a big waterfall.

In this forest, there is nothing like wild predators or hybrid creatures in it. The only creatures inside this restricted forest are the natural wild animals that existed before those abominations came into the world.

Our shadows’ pack is lucky, because of all the forests we have inside our pack’s territory, there was nothing like wild beasts or those hybrid creatures there.

Assuming they were inside our pack’s forests, we would have suffered a big blow. I am thankful that those abominations are outside the shadows’ pack territory.

I sat on one of the rocks after I gave fireball and Irving the fish I had bought for them.

Seeing that fireball and Irving were busy playing and eating their fish, I began to think to myself.

What the Lycan king said to me was playing in my head. This was not the first time he said I was his mate. What is going on?

My palms rubbed my face as I lowered my head.

"Elektra, I have some unanswered questions. I wish the moon goddess would appear to us again so that I can ask her about it". I stopped rubbing my face and lifted my head to the sky as I said this to Elektra.

’Why would she want to appear to you, Clara? Remember, you are mad at her’.

"Of course, I am mad at the moon goddess, Elektra. But, unfortunately, I can’t deny the fact that she is my biological mother. I can’t stay angry at her forever. In fact, I need her now".

The instant I finished saying these words, a bright light shone and the moon goddess appeared in front of the rock I was sitting on. There was a bright smile on her face.

This time, she wasn’t holding any staff in her hand, nor was she wearing any crown on her head.

She was wearing a royal blue gown that matched the colour of her eyes and hair.

"I am glad you don’t hate me, my child!". She said to me and instantly bent down and gave me a hug.

I tried to embrace her too, but I just could not do that. In the end, I did not hug her back. Though I allowed her to hug me as much as she liked, because I did not find it uncomfortable.

When I looked at the ground, I saw countless diamonds.

Wait, is the moon goddess crying? Because of me? Does she really love me so much?
