"This will do." Arriving at the gate of her mansion, Tilan stepped down from the carriage, still cradling the candy jar gifted by Lagertis. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Well then, good night and goodbye~" Ores waved to Tilan from inside the carriage, before driving away.

It was nearing 1 o'clock in the night, but the mansion was still brightly lit. As Tilan opened the gate with her identification, she was greeted by the maids lined up on both sides of the courtyard's main path.

"Welcome back, Lady Ti Lan." They bowed in unison, and then two of them approached to take the candy jar from her arms.

"Would you like a bath, Lady Ti Lan? The bathroom is already prepared."

"Would you care for some supper? According to a healthy diet, you can eat a little before bed to avoid hunger and sleeplessness during the night."

The maids surrounded Tilan as she returned to the mansion, swiftly serving up a simple late-night snack. The candy jar was also placed in a corner of the study.

"That's enough, you all may rest. Just leave two to take care of me, there's no need for so many people." Surrounded by many maids, Tilan felt a bit overwhelmed and had to speak up, sending everyone off to rest.

Upon Tilan's command, all the maids quickly complied, and the room soon fell quiet, leaving only two maids by her side.

Although it was late at night, after eating that piece of High Rank candy, she didn't feel very sleepy. Tilan sat in the study for a while, then started to look through her schedule for the next day.

She was doing very well with the morning's Aijeika Theory and advanced knowledge, and could even take a leave of absence, but the afternoon classes were crucial and she had to attend. She definitely had to go to the school's 'Autumn Moon Lantern Festival' in the evening.

No matter, I should take a bath first. If I keep reading, I might not be able to get up tomorrow. Tilan set down her recording tablet and headed to the mansion's bathroom.

In the warm bathtub, she sat on a small stool in the water, her smooth back resting against the edge of the pool, gazing at the ceiling above and gradually feeling a bit sleepy.

Thankfully, the candy's effect was to relieve fatigue, not to eliminate sleepiness, otherwise, she truly wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.

Tilan breathed a sigh of relief in her heart and became curious about the company again. The candies produced by Lagertis were meticulously crafted in detail, no wonder they've been an evergreen among the giant corporations.

She hoped this collaboration theme would become popular and attract a certain level of popularity. She held a small hope.

Although she didn't care much about popularity and had a detached view on many things, she still hoped her aesthetic and preferences could be recognized by some.

Speaking of which, Tilan herself was sometimes unclear about her own personality. Introverted? Indeed, she didn't talk much and also avoided many unnecessary social interactions. Timid? Probably not as timid as before, it was just a habit formed over time, preferring less trouble to more, and she wasn't particularly keen on being in the limelight.

Probably easy-going, she would touch upon things she was curious about as long as it didn't violate her principles, and she was fairly easy to talk to.

However, Tilan also knew very well that she wasn't as kind and gentle as everyone said. Or perhaps, the reason she could seem this way was that she had stopped expecting much from others quite early on.

Due to low expectations, not seeking too much from others, she didn't demand much, which made her amiable.

After all, she was still quite a pessimist, likely because she had seen too much of the oppression and pain in the lower strata of society and had herself gone through a lengthy dark period.

Without expectations for anything in the world, she appeared exceptionally peaceful and easy to speak to, unless someone touched her bottom line; only then would her cold and solitary side, hidden deep within her heart, be revealed.
