Chapter 312 - 306: Shiro: “Brother, are you finally making a move on lolis?”
Just as the two little girls were happily enjoying the gifts they received, Shunsuke returned with the voting results.
As expected, ninety percent of the students hoped to undergo superpower development and supported the relocation of Star Sea Academy to Academy City.
The remaining ten percent didn't express any strong objections either. After all, for adolescents, gaining superpowers was something magical.
As long as it didn't pose any danger, most would gladly accept it.
After reviewing the results, Haruto nodded and began preparing for the relocation. As for the facilities left behind on the island campus, they could be sold at a bargain.
Coincidentally, Haruto had seen a recent acquisition proposal sent to the Shinomiya Conglomerate, from a party looking to purchase an island from them with the intent to build a special academy.
Apparently, it was to be called something like Advanced Nurturing High School.
Currently, Japan's education resources were indeed heavily skewed.
Nearly ninety percent were concentrated within the "Three Great Schools." While this wasn't exactly unacceptable, only Sobu High School among the three had no special admission privileges.
This presented a problem.
It seemed those people had noticed the flaws in the education system and wanted a slice of the pie.
The so-called Advanced Nurturing High School claimed it would achieve nearly 100% rates of graduation and employment—aiming to become Japan's premier school.
As for how...
Haruto speculated that they intended to build a results-oriented school in isolation on an island.
In other words, a Classroom of the Elite.
With a massive influx of funds and some special tactics, they would raise the success rate dramatically. That way, during educational evaluations, they could claim a huge portion of education funds.
Since Star Sea Academy's facilities couldn't all be relocated, he might as well sell them to those people and get some capital in return.
Afterward, Haruto chatted for a while with Shouko and Ayumi, then left.
Next time they met, it would be in Academy City.
Returning to his apartment, Haruto went to bed early, Haruto planning to visit Kaguya at Shuchiin Academy the next day.
=======================
The Next Morning
Haruto groggily woke up, sensing something heavy on top of him.
He reached out to touch it.
It was soft, warm—like the finest silk.
He froze.
"...Shiro?"
Out of habit, he called out softly.
A small head popped out from the side, looking at him with sleepy confusion.
"Brother? What's wrong?"
Seeing Shiro so close beside him, Haruto fell into deep thought.
If Shiro was here, then what was lying on top of him?
Shiro noticed the unusual bulge under the blanket too. After a moment of dazed confusion, she lifted the blanket.
The result was like someone had set off a flash grenade.
Haruto's vision was filled with pale skin.
A silver-haired girl lay quietly on top of him, her skin largely exposed to the air, causing his blood to surge.
Perhaps due to the cold air from the lifted blanket, the girl shivered. Then, using her forearms, she pushed herself up sleepily.
The sight left Haruto speechless.
"Est?!"
He quickly grabbed the blanket and wrapped Est up in it like a burrito.
Shiro stared, eyes wide.
"Brother, are you finally making a move on lolis?"
Haruto almost spat blood.
"I did NOT!"
Yesterday, after leaving Academy City, Est had entered a dormant state.
In that state, she turned into a sword and hung from Haruto's waist.
When he returned home, he didn't think much of it and didn't mention it to anyone. While going to bed, he casually placed the sword beside him.
After all, Est had consciousness, and it felt cruel to leave her alone in the divine space.
But... why...?
"Then why is there a strange loli in your bed—and naked no less?!"
Shiro interrogated him.
Haruto's mouth twitched.
He was also wondering the same thing!
Est, still drowsy, lifted one of her feet clad in black stockings out of the blanket and showed it to them.
"Est isn't completely naked. I'm still wearing my socks."
This only added fuel to the fire.
Shiro blinked and, with a blank expression, said, "Even if your preferences are a little twisted, it's okay. I can accept it."
Saying this, she raised one of her own legs, clad in cat-paw patterned knee-high socks.
Haruto's face twitched.
Don't just randomly interpret things like that!
And this isn't his kink!
To avoid further misunderstanding, he looked sternly at Est.
"Est, why are you only wearing socks?"
At his question, Est, whose face usually lacked expression, surprisingly blushed a little.
"Master... do you want to take Est's socks off? How lewd."
Haruto: "???"
How did you come to that conclusion?!
And why is not wearing clothes okay, but socks are sacred!?
At this point, Shiro's gaze had clearly changed.
Haruto quickly looked around.
Sure enough, he found a golden scabbard.
"—O cold-hearted Queen of Steel, holy blade that slays demons,"
"—take the form of a sword and grant me divine strength!"
With his chant, Est instantly turned into a stream of light, reverting into the silver-white demon-slaying sword.
He immediately sheathed the sword.
Moments later, Est reappeared in a golden ceremonial dress. Only then did Haruto breathe a sigh of relief.
That was close. Way too close.
Shiro watched this, nodding thoughtfully.
"So you like that kind of thing? Swordplay? I see... I've heard of similar stuff. In some country, there are some comparable fetishes... like rogue heroes or ghost riders..."
Haruto quickly covered her mouth.
That's enough! Any more and it's just rude!
Swordplay my ass!
Rogue hero? Ghost rider??
Even Diddy and Drake would be speechless!
"I think this is a misunderstanding. Est is a sword spirit—her worldview doesn't align with humans'."
Haruto tried to explain.
Shiro waved her hand with a knowing look.
"No problem. No matter how strange your preferences, I won't abandon you."
With that, she transformed into a stream of blue light and instantly turned into a blue longsword.
Haruto was done.
Shiro had become something like a wind spirit—a manifestation of cleansing wind. So shape-shifting was well within her ability.
But don't use your powers like this!
Seeing that explanations weren't working, Haruto chose to flee.
They could talk later.
After he left, Shiro returned to her human form. Staring at his retreating figure, she revealed a sly smile.
Then her gaze turned to Est, who looked innocent and pure. As a sword spirit, Est might as well have the words naive, easily tricked, and dumb written on her face.
She had an ethereal air about her.
In layman's terms—she looked dumb but pure.
Shiro pointed in the direction Haruto had gone.
"What is he to you?"
Without hesitation, Est replied, "Master. The one who made a contract with Est."
Shiro nodded, then pointed to herself.
"I'm his little sister. We're super close. So, for now, call me 'Big Sis'."
Est tilted her head, confused by the logic but still obeyed.
"Big Sis."
That one word pierced straight through Shiro's heart. She moved closer and started squeezing Est's cheeks.
"Say it again."
"Big Sis."
"Say it a few more times."
"Big Sis, Big Sis, Big Sis..."
Gabriel woke up in the morning intending to find Shiro for some SAO fun.She opened the door—then froze.
After a long moment, she quietly closed it again.
Something was clearly wrong with how she opened that door.
What the hell did she just see?
This time, Gabriel opened the door just a crack and peeked in.
The room looked normal again.
Just an extra silver-haired girl.
Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief.
"Phew... I must've been seeing things earlier."
===========================
Meanwhile, after fleeing, Haruto arrived at Shuchiin Academy.
He entered the student council room. Since it was still early, Kaguya hadn't arrived yet. Instead, he found another pink-haired girl who had come even earlier.
