Chapter 220: Chapter 217: Two Meters and Two Centimeters

The trip to Milan for the six people was divided into two small squads.

The trio already at Nobu were Bao Bao, Yan Ling, and Qi Yi.

The trio about to arrive at Nobu were Yan Yan, Jiao Zhifei, and Lei Pili.

Then there was Ye Mo, who was moving between the two groups.

"Hey, brother-in-law, I finally get to see you. Thanks for letting me stay with my fussy Old Sister," Jiao Zhifei exclaimed excitedly upon seeing Qi Yi.

"Who did you call fussy?" Yan Yan glared at Jiao Zhifei, distinctly displeased.

Yan Yan didn’t know if her little brother had taken some kind of stimulant today; he was in a state of excessive excitement.

"It’s only right for your sister to take you in. No need to be so polite," replied Qi Yi. It wasn’t the first time he had heard Jiao Zhifei call him brother-in-law, but being called that face-to-face in such a crowd felt very different from hearing it over the phone.

Yan Yan walked over to Qi Yi’s side and hooked his arm, standing next to him with a smile. Her demeanor was completely different from when she had been glaring at Jiao Zhifei.

With many people around today, Yan Yan didn’t display any particular clinginess, it was just a natural gesture.

Jiao Zhifei shook his head, a look of disdain on his face, then turned back to Qi Yi and said, "Brother-in-law, how could you fall for someone as prickly as my sister? I’ve always felt that no one in the world could possibly tolerate her toxic tongue and her bizarre hobbies."

"Are you itching for a kick today or what? You can’t feel comfortable without me kicking you, can you?" Since Yan Yan’s hands were occupied with holding onto Qi Yi’s arm, she lifted her slender high heel as a weapon to make Jiao Zhifei back off.

After Jiao Zhifei retreated to a safe distance, he pulled Lei Pili over to be his accomplice. "Senior Brother Lei? Was my sister this violent in university too? Surely no guy in the entire school could stand her, right?"

Jiao Zhifei did indeed back off, but his way of retreating was worse than not retreating at all.

"Why would that be? Your sister was the dream girl of all the male students at Xiamen University within just one year. Including me, there were definitely close to a thousand guys who liked her," Lei Pili replied half-seriously, half-jokingly, not taking Jiao Zhifei’s side.

"Oh my God, what’s wrong with the world? Cousin, don’t you find these two men a bit odd?" Jiao Zhifei turned to Yan Ling for his opinion.

As Yan Yan’s "forever" little brother, Jiao Zhifei had met Yan Ling several times and called him Cousin more affectionately than even Yan Yan did.

Regarding Jiao Zhifei’s warmth, Yan Ling chose to remain noncommittal: "Why would I bother observing two men?"

The otherworldly Jiao Zhifei couldn’t see it, but Yan Ling instantly noticed something odd about the vibes between Yan Yan, Qi Yi, and this Senior Brother Lei.

"Let’s all sit down quickly. Thanks to Little Yan, we get to eat in such a fancy restaurant. Normally, I eat instant noodles three times a day at the office," Ye Mo came out to lighten the mood.

"Weren’t you the one who said you were treating us today? How has it turned into my treat?" While Yan Yan spoke like this, she was quite pleased with Ye Mo for stepping in to lighten the mood, which was evident from the bright smile on her face as she spoke.

"Thanks to Little Yan, I was able to come to Italy. Thanks to Little Yan, I could use public funds to treat everyone to dinner. Thanks to Little Yan, I could..." Ye Mo launched into a parallel construction.

"Ye Mo, you’d better list ten or eight reasons in one breath. If you don’t have any, stop talking. Who is Little Yan? Where? I didn’t see any Little Yan here," Yan Yan felt she had to interrupt, otherwise Ye Mo would keep calling "Little Yan" like he previously kept using "you."

When Yan Yan and her group entered, Bao Bao was sitting in the most interior position. Everyone had a chance to speak, but Bao Bao hadn’t said a word yet.

Yan Yan, without having told Qi Yi about Lei Pili coming, had walked in holding Qi Yi’s hand, marking her territory while simultaneously apologizing.

Thus, Yan Yan hadn’t had the chance to greet Bao Bao yet.

Jiao Zhifei, not knowing Bao Bao, didn’t think to pull her in when he was looking for accomplices just now.

When Yan Yan was about to sit down, she saw that Bao Bao had already stood up from her spot waiting for her.

Bao Bao stood there gracefully, smiling gently. Only Yan Yan knew this was because Bao Xiaobao felt neglected and was slightly upset.

Yan Yan quickly let go of Qi Yi’s hand, ran over to where Bao Bao was, and gave her a big bear hug: "How did my Bao Bao get even more handsome? Standing here, you’ve made all the guys at this table pale in comparison."

"Yan Xiaoyan, can’t you be a bit more poised? No wonder your brother says nobody likes you," Bao Bao had already overheard how the group was addressing each other.

Jiao Zhifei, looking at Bao Bao, was overjoyed. To someone so particular like his Old Sister, it seemed there were still some people in the world with normal senses.

"My goodness, Bao Xiaobao, just what country are you from? Look at that old face. Does he look anything like my brother?" Yan Yan pointed at Jiao Zhifei and asked Bao Bao.

"Have you ever seen such a radiant old face?" Jiao Zhifei expressed his dissatisfaction with the face Yan Yan had attributed to him.

"Your face is not only radiant but also delicate. Satisfied now?" When Yan Yan mentioned ’delicate,’ it was with a face full of disdain.

Yan Yan, sticking close to Bao Bao, asked her, "Are we still the same as before?"

At the Nobu restaurant, when Yan Yan and Bao Bao were ordering, they didn’t need to look at the menu at all. Yan Yan could order with her eyes closed, from everything that was or wasn’t on the menu.

"Can you stay a bit away from me and hang onto your boyfriend?" Bao Bao asked Yan Yan with a hint of disdain.

"Ah— Ah— Ah— Bao Xiaobao, are you actually disgusted by me? It’s only been a few days since we last met, how can you be so fickle?" Yan Yan voiced her strongest protest.

"I dislike you, that’s a minor issue. I fell in love with you, now that’s a major issue. So please, maintain a distance of more than two meters from me immediately," Bao Bao said this, indicating she had moved past her slight discontent from earlier.

"How are you this grown up and still slurring your words? Say ’centimeters’ properly. How could you swallow the ’centi’? What’s this about two centimeters? Right now, I’m clearly, let me see, at least three centimeters away, look, three fingers can easily stretch out like this." Yan Yan measured the distance between herself and Bao Bao with her left hand.
