Limitless The Strongest Revenant-Chapter 930: Science bitch! [1/2]

Rather than a loud roar, the demonkin in front of me made a low whimper as it tried to back away. I didn't like to study, but I was prepared to do so if it was necessary. I didn't actually take the time to understand the bastards I killed.

I just kind of shot them to death. It was the most direct approach. Yet, I did know that while that would be my go-to, it wasn't necessarily the best one. Like anime and manga, a common theme in their fights was the importance of information.

I had too much rage in my body, but there was no reason why I could use this time productively. Normally I didn't give a crap about any of this. But even in most RTS games, tech levels were just as important to the size of your economy and army.

"Rejoice, you fucker, your contributions to science, will forever be immortalized," I cheered.

Right now, I lack knowledge on how to kill demonkin. I mean, they die if you shoot them, but why? Unlike zombies who had human bodies, or monsters that were like animals, the demons had no basis. They were fundamentally a mystery.

This chapter is updat𝓮d by freēnovelkiss.com.

Why did Sacred's kill zombies, but not demonkin? If Reborn were all created from reincarnators, why did some become zombies, while others became monsters and demonkin? What was the difference?

"[Gladiator], Exa, do I have {Restore} rounds in 7.62?"

[Yes, there are 20 rounds. They were originally prepared for Lady Jas's M24. But I can do an infinity-reload with them.]

"Infinity-reload?"

[I needed a term for what we call reloading the same bullet over and over again rather than using other rounds. It's the most applicable term.]

"It's too long; from this moment on, let's call it an IF-Reload."

[I understand; I can do an IF-Reload with 20 {Restore} rounds.]

"Good. Do it. M134D."

I pulled out a rotary machine gun and focused on the demonkin backing away.

Focusing my eyes, his body began to light up in my vision. Just as if he had been placed under a microscope. The different parts of his body glowed in a variety of colors. It was one of [Gladiators] built in {programs}, [Student].

Of course, all seven disciplines had their own focuses. But there were similarities shared among them. And [Ninja], [Executioner], and [Gladiator] specifically enhanced my senses. All of them strengthened my ears and, more specifically, my eyes.

While [Sky sentinel] might seem to belong to this category, it didn't. The discipline based on Robyn enhanced reaction time. [Attuned] The discipline's danger sense did not detect anything. It assumed an attack. It enhanced my body in essence.

[Ninja] in contrast enhanced my hearing and sight to detect changes in my surroundings. A side benefit was learning to read body language. Objectively, it was a discipline that excelled in reconnaissance and interrogation.

Meanwhile, [Executioner] focused on seeing from afar. Most telescopic sights sacrificed the field of view for focus. [Executioner] didn't. This meant I could, for a limited time, see everything at the same depth with the same clarity.

'Of course, that has its own problems, like being overwhelmed by what I see. It's excellent for observing, but I end up nauseous if I do not blind myself by using a scope,' I thought inwardly.

And then we had [Gladiator], the discipline designed to be a boss killer. It enhanced my vision, but not in the traditional sense. It gave me the ability to learn everything about something in front of me. From analyzing its body to guessing what it could do.

It was created for the purpose of teaching me more effective methods for killing an opponent. The parts glowing were approximations of the object's toughness. Green meant full strength, yellow meant badly damaged, and red meant close to breaking.

Beyond that, like it was under an X-ray, the demonkin's bones all lit up, showing me how they were shaped. Along with the fucker's muscles and the blood, I could see both its internal and external body.

Finally, as if the demonkin ingested glow sticks, its insides showed me the flow of souls and malice in its body. They appeared like white and black rivers and flowed in and out of the demonkin like wind in a wind tunnel.

"Exa, I will now be experimenting on this bastard. Record everything and share it with the Sirens in real time. If you see anything I didn't, point it out to me. We will now learn how to kill demonkin most effectively."

[I understand. I have completed preparations; we can proceed.]

"Great. For science!"

I pressed both triggers of the M134D, and the rotors whirled to life. Then it began to fire glowing rounds that smashed into the skull of the Demonkin. Its head didn't get penetrated, but 7.62 had enough power to knock it back. It behaved similarly to Level 3A body armor.

"Exa, give me 2 HCARs. Do I have {Bestow} rounds in .30-06?"

[No, you do not.]

"I see, then we cannot help it."

Switching weapons, I let go of the M134D, pulled out two battle rifles, and walked toward the demonkin. It looked at me and began to roar incoherently. I pointed both guns at the red parts and fired.

"Red can be destroyed by .30-06."

"GWAUAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"

I then moved to the yellow bits and blasted them without mercy. As the Demonkin began shouting, I pointed one rifle at its face and pulled the trigger.

"Yellow pieces turn red after half a clip. Exa, how many did I shoot until they changed colors?"

[That would be around 30 rounds at a velocity of 2,900 feet per second. Each delivering 2,900 joules of kinetic energy upon impact. Based on the lack of significant damage after sustained firing, the demonkin's armor can be classified as above 3A. ]

"I see. But it still broke down, didn't it? Maybe if we can fire enough into it? Count how much punch I need to turn a green part to red."

[Understood.]

The Demonkin being hammered by the bullets, began to whimper. It struggled to escape. I waved my arm and made it stay.

"{Crush}. Don't move."

"Gruugghhhh!"

I approached it and stomped on its still-good leg. Then I aimed both HCARs at its shoulder that glowed green and unleashed everything I had into it. I didn't let go of the trigger until its shoulder caved in and began spurting fluids.

"How many were that?"

[It took over 900 .30-06 full metal jacket rounds to shatter the shoulder. Considering the force you just expended, it appears you would need 3.61 Megajoules of kinetic energy to break through its armor.]

"That many? Didn't I need only around 30 to change it from yellow to red? And for red, I only needed one to turn it to mush."

[Yes, that is correct. But it seems this phenomenon is an inherent property of this demonkin. Its {Entropy} {Dysphoria} doesn't seem linked to its body's ability to take punishment.]

"Hmm. 3.61 megajoules? Do we even have weapons strong enough to hit that hard?"

[It is possible to achieve the same result by firing multiple weapons at the same spot. To produce 3.61 Megajoules using various calibers you would a significant number of bullets. Would you like the official number for every caliber you own?]
