Given the moronic ways Northerners did battle, they had no information to speak of. Anyone and everyone who fought the Named Rank A's was dead. Liv's source of information was the leftover aftermath of the battle.

'Not that she could help it. Much like me, Liv has been weak before meeting Husband.'

Feeling annoyed for some reason, I stood up from my seat and moved to leave the meeting room. The officers all stared at me with nervous eyes. Why did they react that way?

Lilly and Liv also stopped as they looked at me with worried expressions.

"I need some air," I remarked.

The American Princess nodded. "Okay, please return Jas. We have much to consult with you. When is {Insight} available next?"

"An hour."

"Got it. Please be back here by then."

With that last exchange, I left the room. {Insight} was my latest {fate}. It did not do much in battle, but its purpose was to learn about an opponent. While I did like being able to give Husband what he needed, I hated the war {Insight} changed my appearance.

As I walked forward, I saw a glimpse of my reflection on the glass panes used for the meeting rooms. Right now, it showed an African woman with hazel eyes and long hair. The woman had a big bust and a backside that was exceptionally toned.

I turned around and traced the arc of my butt. The Sirens have all been quite vocal about how wonderful it was. Husband similarly adored it very much. Remembering the ferocity of my {Kindred} in bed, I felt my cheeks grew hotter.

As I stared at my reflection, it changed in an instant. The woman in my reflection manifested a large eye on her forehead without warning. She then grew avian wings covered in eyes, along with a crown made up of eyeballs. One could hardly call the being reflected a human.

'Would he still love you even when you become this, though?' the mirage jeered.

'I-I don't care what I have to become, Husband loves me all the same.'

"Jas. If you are acting like this because of your third eye, then don't. I already saw it. And I find it eerily beautiful."

That was what he said to me. His words made my heart flutter. Just remembering his praise made me glad of the power I gained. Yet the image on the glass smirked as she replied in a voice only I could hear.

'Fufu… So you say. How naive. You already saw the future Jasmine Denel Smith. A day will come when you and your precious Husband will try to take each other's life. It has already been set. Your naivety is amusing.'

"NO! THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! HE LOVES ME!" I roared!

In my anger, I sent a full-powered punch into the meeting room glass. The reflection, along with the window, shattered under my blow. Even with the reflection gone, I could hear her voice echo as I huffed restless.

'Delude yourself all you want. You should know that the Akashic records never lie. That future will come, regardless of what you or anyone wishes. And when it does, you will remember this moment and know of your hubris.'

After leaving the early words behind, the voice spoke no longer. Yet I found my entire being trembling from horror. This was the burden of {Insight}. There wasn't actually any cooldown. I could look at the records as long as I needed to.

But it had a different cost, one that my sanity needed to bear. I was reminded of the quote from the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. "If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." Helplessly, I could only laugh at my situation.

It was true that I saw Husband and the Sirens all fighting with the intention to kill. But I knew not the reason why nor when it would happen, only that it was in our immediate future. I knew too little to change the outcome, and telling anyone else would introduce even more variables, I didn't need.

Yet despite it all, I had hope. I would rather choose to believe in man I love than a vision I saw in passing.

'I will never let that happen. Watch me. I will change it! Even if I have to sacrifice everything!'

Despite my fierce declaration, no replies came. I took a moment to compose myself. The future was uncertain. I knew that best. 'Yes, nothing is certain,' I said to reassure myself.

I noticed the mess I had made. I was about to pick up some of the glass when I heard a gasp behind me. I turned around and saw a pair I did not expect.

"Lady Satis, are you alright?! You're bleeding! Please don't bother cleaning up. We've got people to do such things! " Cried Nyda Flowers.

She then approached me and gently brushed off the pieces of glass on my fist. As I had {Limitless}, I wasn't actually hurt, but jagged glass fragments buried themselves in my hand.

"This won't do; please come with me to the infirmary. I know you have {Regen}, but we still need to get the pieces out," She fussed.

Cynthia Carmine, the one with her, took out a phone and made a call.

"Yeah, have someone clean up. Send them to the meeting rooms. We have a broken window. I need you to erase all evidence of a certain incident. You will know when you see it. Find everyone who was around the area and place them under a gag order."

I looked up and smiled at her quick action. As a Siren, it didn't do well for my image to suddenly beat up windows.

'Not that Husband would mind. And I don't think anyone had to courage to even try to say anything.'

The two escorted me to the infirmary. There I got my hand treated by a bunch of Reapers with healing {fates}. When they were done, Cynthia and Nyda still accompanied me as I left the clinic. I was not surprised that they did.

I already knew these two would come seek me one of these days. Solely because of what I saw in passing. Both were struggling with a problem they didn't know how to solve and were anxious if I could help them. They came to me as I was the one seen as the smartest of the Sirens.

"Lady Satis..." Nyda began.

"Buy her original soulgear and have Santiago Gonzalez tend to her. Tell him it is an order from me. Do not ask why. He is the key to getting Evelyn to wake up."

"Ah..Oh! Uhm… Thank you, Lady Satis! I will do both now! Thank you again!" With great excitement, Nyda grabbed my hand, shook it, and rushed out.

Cynthia, who remained by my side, commented on the sudden developments, "Wow, she didn't even need to ask. I'm glad that she received her answer; she has been stumped about what to do."

I turned to her and touched her cheek. Using Exa as a medium, I sent her the image of the device I saw using {Insight}. It was a five-colored orb that was embedded in a black cuirass.

"AHH!! If you… No… that won't… Ah! THAT'S IT! This could work! Why in the world did I never think about that? THANK YOU, LADY SATIS! THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Cynthia rushed to embrace me with a firm hug. Then she let go and bolted in the next second. What I was doing did not qualify as cheating. The answers I gave were ones that other people figured out. I only saw the answers in advance.

While {Insight} did have its own problems, it had its perks. And while I was scared, I was also hopeful.

'The future is uncertain. But for the one Husband seeks, I will look into the abyss as many times as necessary.'

Steeling my will, I walked back to the meeting room.
