Sandra could only nod. She had seen his abilities clearly now. The more she stayed with Lucas, the more she knew about the knowledge he possessed of almost everything, and the more she craved to learn about it.

"I guess you can handle things without me," she stated and took Lucas’s help to get back up, though her legs were still numb.

-"Would you like to continue further?"- the overseer asked, and Theo nodded. He looked at Sandra’s feet and realized that it might take some time for her to become stable again.

"I can’t believe that siege skill of yours could be this amazing."

"Hahah, that skill is all a gamble. It gives me random siege weapons that I have to make do with," Lucas spoke and chuckled nostalgically.

"You really like thinking about the past, huh," Sandra spoke with a warm smile, and Theo nodded with distant eyes.

They quickly got the message that the next floor was starting. Lucas looked up toward the summoning circle and smiled. The message had already told them that it was a monster subjugation mission.

Around 20 minutes later, Sandra’s jaw was agape while looking at the corpse of a giant toad who had acid falling all over its body. Even the ground sizzled when a lot of that slimy stuff reached its way down.

Lucas was standing on top of it, cleaning his sword. "That was a disgusting creature," he spoke and looked at the vanishing body.

"It’s a pity I couldn’t examine its insides on time," he thought out loud and landed gracefully on the ground.

The acid all over the ground was also vanishing with time, yet seeing Lucas still stand over it as if it was nothing when the ground was bringing out smoke, Sandra couldn’t help but ask,

"Is this really just you covering your body parts with mana, Lucas? Nothing more?"

Lucas looked at her with a thoughtful gaze. "You do get a skill after a prolonged usage, and with time, you can become proficient to cover the things you wear with your mana," he explained while showing the layer of transparent aura all around his shoes.

Lucas made his way toward Sandra, who was already concentrating and trying to cover specific body parts of her body.

When the next message came, Theo looked at it and smiled. It was going to be another breeze forward.

"So, do we ask my question right now, or do we do more floors?" Sandra asked with excited eyes.

Theo chuckled. For someone dabbling with death, she really was lively.

Before Lucas could speak again, a robotic voice came.

-"You can enter through the gate again,"- the overseer spoke.

"Woah hohoho, if she wants me there already, there’s not much point asking from you!" Sandra giggled and brisked toward the door.

Lucas did the same and entered. He sat at the chair right away and looked at the overseer with a curious expression.

This was the one field of knowledge Theo had no idea about, and he was quite excited to know what it was all about.

-"Sandra Owen, we will start with the explanation now. Please be attentive,"- the overseer spoke with the usual smile with dead eyes.

Sandra nodded profusely. The wait was killing her.

-"You already know that you can bring back the dead with the help of the path you have chosen, but even in this path, it’s a very long road."- The overseer paused and continued, -"A very difficult path, if I must notify you."-

-"The skills you possess right now are not enough. You need to progress 3 more levels for the ritual magic before you can start thinking forward. This path, much like all the others, can only be followed with patience and little steps. You miss even a single one, and it will all start falling apart."- the overseer explained and finally stopped.

Sandra looked at her for a few seconds and tried to comprehend what she said. "So… long story short, I have to progress my main ritual skill to level 3… and then what?" she asked right away.

Lucas himself wanted to know. freewёbnoνel.com

-"With 2 floors cleared, that is the only thing I can tell you."- the overseer spoke, making Sandra look at her with dumbfoundedness.

-"But I only told you to complete 2 floors for this knowledge because I want you to first go through with these 3 levels for the rituals. If I tell you more right now, it will only hinder your growth and lead you to make some bad choices."- she spoke again, making Sandra look at her with a still surprised but somewhat calm face.

"… If you say so," she spoke with unsureness. "3 levels, huh, that will be fast."

The overseer’s smile widened at that comment, making Lucas smile too. He caught onto the last message.

"If she is telling you to focus on those 3 levels first, that means this level progression is not as easy as it seems, Sandra," Lucas spoke, making Sandra frown.

"We will talk about this later," he spoke again and looked at the overseer, who already understood with just a look.

They stayed like that for two long seconds, making Sandra look at them with judgy eyes.

-"We shall meet again soon, Lucas Garde."- the overseer spoke, and Lucas gave a greeting too before they left the dungeon.

"You two seem awfully close, Lucas. Does Sara know about this?" Sandra asked the moment they stepped out, making Lucas shake his head.

"There is nothing going on right now. This is just a business relationship," he spoke, yet looked at that teasing look on Sandra’s face. Theo just sighed.

The road back to the shelter was going to be a long one.

Meanwhile, Sara was inside the basement preparing an ingot when her eyes started sparkling.

Dumatite IngotRare

An ingot made by a rookie blacksmith with a moment of luck. Tools made from this ingot have a chance of increasing the user’s strength.

There was a proud grin on Sara’s face as she quickly kept the ingot toward a batch of ingots before moving to the next one.
