Jujutsu Kaisen: I Can Travel Back in Time-Chapter 42 - 36 Please Don’t Report ME!
Chapter 42 - 36 Please Don't Report ME!
The female receptionist widened her eyes in astonishment and tried to play dumb. "What are you talking about? I don't understand!"
"It doesn't matter if you don't understand." Gojo Satoru smiled as he removed his blindfold, revealing pale blue eyes that made the female receptionist's heart skip a beat.
"Since you have a cursed spirit, you should know a thing or two about the world of curses, right? Expanding a domain can cancel out the cursed spirit's natural domain. I can't promise what will happen after that. Oh, and by the way, I'm very strong."
"Hey! Wait a minute..." The receptionist hastily raised her hand to stop Gojo's gesture. With a distressed expression, she hesitated before explaining, "My husband and I used to run a haunted house at an amusement park. He died in an accident during equipment maintenance. For some reason, he became a cursed spirit and signed a bond with me. It was always his wish to give tourists a thrilling experience, so we used the domain created by his soul to keep the haunted house running."
She bit her lip before adding, "We have no ill intentions. Please, don't report us to the higher-ups in the Jujutsu world."
"Your husband is the headless ghost from the classroom, isn't he?" Conan's childish voice cut through her plea with sharp confidence.
"Huh? How did you know?" Geto Suguru tilted his head and glanced at the young detective.
Conan held up his phone. "Simple. I looked up recent accident reports at Tokyo amusement parks. A 32-year-old named Takuya Taro died in a mechanical maintenance accident—his head was severed by a malfunctioning arm. So, I'm guessing you're his wife—Takuya Junko?"
The receptionist nodded reluctantly before turning to Gojo. "What do you want to know? As long as you don't report me, I'll tell you everything I can."
Sliding his blindfold back into place, Gojo's voice became casual but firm. "A while ago, Puzzle & Dragons held a promotional event outside the haunted house. Did anything unusual happen during that time?"
Takuya Junko furrowed her brows. "I don't remember anything out of the ordinary."
Leaning on the counter, Gojo shook his head lazily. "I'm not asking you—I'm asking your husband."
"I heard you were looking for me." A cold voice echoed as a figure emerged from the haunted house's exit.
The man exuded an eerie chill. His neck was empty, though he cradled a bloodied head in his arms. Instead of terrifying, the image looked more absurd than scary.
"Are you Takuya Taro?" Geto Suguru raised an eyebrow. "And can you put your head back where it belongs?"
The severed head blinked innocently. "Eh? You can actually see me? I was just teasing Junko a little."
"Of course we can see you. We're not ordinary people." Gojo Satoru smirked.
From his spot below, Conan raised a hand. "Uh, sorry—I can't see anything."
Recalling the cursed glasses Zenin Maki used, Gojo waved dismissively. "Don't worry, kid. Next time, Great Teacher Gojo will hook you up with a pair of glasses."
Awkwardly, Takuya Taro reattached his head with a squelch. "So, what do you want to know?"
"Two weeks ago during the promotional event—did you notice anything unusual?" Gojo pressed.
"Hmm..." Takuya Taro tilted his newly reattached head, the scar on his neck stretching unnervingly. "I remember a pale-faced boy hanging around the booth. He looked about twelve or thirteen, spent the whole day sitting there with a laptop. Something about him felt... off. He gave me a strange vibe, so I kept an eye on him."
"Was he a cursed spirit?" Geto Suguru asked, his brows furrowed in thought.
"No, he was definitely human," Takuya Taro said confidently. "He even helped hand out promotional items. Must've been connected to the staff."
"A sorcerer, then?" Geto mused.
"A sorcerer? Please." Gojo scoffed. "More like a kid dabbling in curses without knowing what he's doing. Classic case of someone who needs the guidance of Great Teacher Gojo."
You're barely more mature than a kid yourself, Geto thought, keeping his expression neutral.
"Do you remember what he looked like?" Geto asked instead.
"Very thin, pale skin, soft black hair..." Takuya Taro trailed off.
At that moment, Junko perked up. "Wait, I might have a picture of him! I accidentally caught him in the background when taking photos for visitors."
She turned to the computer on the counter and opened a folder labeled "Miscellaneous Notes." After scrolling for a moment, she pointed. "Here he is."
Geto leaned in, studying the image. The boy in the photo was slender, with soft black hair, long eyelashes, and skin so pale it seemed translucent. He was handing a small box with a green dragon logo to an older teenager.
"That's the one!" Takuya Taro confirmed.
Conan, struggling to see, scrambled onto the counter. "Sister Junko, can you zoom in on that box?"
"Oh, sure!" She magnified the image.
"Hey, look! It's a USB flash drive!" Conan's voice rang with excitement. "Do you think he's using the USB to spread curses? If so, we've been assuming the Puzzle & Dragons game itself is cursed—but maybe the actual source is the USB drives he was handing out!"
The realization made Geto's heart skip a beat. If someone could spread curses through digital means...

"If that's true," he muttered, "there could be countless victims by now. But why hasn't the higher-ups caught wind of this?"
A chilling thought struck him—what if the boy wasn't targeting everyone, but only a select group?
"What's his goal?" Geto wondered aloud. "And how can curses spread through a USB drive without leaving any trace of cursed energy?"
"Jeez, Geto, you sure have a lot of faith in my Six Eyes," Gojo said.
Rolling his eyes, Geto said. "I've heard the Six Eyes never miss changes in cursed energy."
"Usually, yeah," Gojo admitted with rare seriousness. "But there was one time it failed. That bastard slipped through."
His tone turned darker, voice edged with steel. "But it won't happen again."
