Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Advice System-Chapter 36: The Land of Beiming, Hard to Distinguish Between True and False
Chapter 36: Chapter 36: The Land of Beiming, Hard to Distinguish Between True and False
After reaching the Dragon Palace of the North Sea, Sun Wukong realized that the North Sea Dragon Prince was not the heartbreaker he was made out to be.
Ao Xuening had always treated his childhood friend, the Green Flood Dragon, as a sister—it was a one-sided love on her part.
Later, Ao Xuening married the second princess of the Eastern Sea Dragon, which led to the Green Flood Dragon leaving in a huff to make her way in the demon realm, where she eventually gained a great reputation and became the renowned Flood Dragon Demon King.
Despite this, Sun Wukong and the Demon King still dragged Ao Xuening out of the Dragon Palace of the North Sea and gave him a good thrashing.
This spectacle made the North Sea Dragon King, Ao Shun, and the East Sea Dragon King, who were taking refuge there, tremble in fear.
Eventually, Sun Wukong and others explained their purpose, and Ao Xuening, knowing he had a guilty conscience, agreed to investigate the northern darklands.
The dragon clan of the North Sea was the nominal king of the North Sea, and although it had declined, it still had the heritage of the dragon clan, so they were quite familiar with the northern darklands.
As the Crown Prince of the North Sea, Ao Xuening had often delved deep into the northern darklands during his rebellious years, using the maps left by his ancestors, hence the Flood Dragon Demon King said he was most familiar with the area.
The group set out from the Dragon Palace of the North Sea and headed further north until they reached the very edge of the North Sea, where the waters turned to black and the surface was covered with a thick fog that seemed like it would never lift.
From afar, the entire northern darklands looked like a giant gaping maw, desperately trying to devour the whole world.
Ao Xuening was only a True Immortal, but he faced the fearsome northern darklands without a hint of fear.
Dressed in black and with fierce dragon horns on his head, he bowed to Sun Wukong and the Demon King, "Please wait a moment, elder brothers. I will call some friends over,"
"their kin are spread throughout the northern darklands. If the Six-Eared Macaque is indeed here, they surely can’t escape their eyes."
Sun Wukong was overjoyed at hearing this and urged him, "Then hurry and call them over."
Ao Xuening took out a conch and gave it a gentle blow, producing a whirring sound.
Soon, the black waters began to churn, and various demons gradually arrived.
Upon closer inspection, Sun Wukong noticed there were Black Snake Spirits, Shark Spirits, Octopus Spirits, and Catfish Spirits, all small demon kings of their respective clans.
"Catfish in the Arctic?" he asked in surprise.
"In such a filthy and foul place, what fish can’t you find?" laughed the Demon King.
Then, Ao Xuening instructed these small demon kings on their tasks, asking them to go back to their clans and inquire.
Half a day later, several of the small demon kings returned.
The Black Snake Spirit, Shark Spirit, and Octopus Spirit said that their kin had not seen any Six-Eared Macaque.
Only the unsightly Catfish Spirit said, "Honorable kings and Prince Xuening, I have kin on Ice-Fire Island who have seen the Six-Eared Macaque you speak of, identical in appearance to Lord Sun Wukong."
A glint appeared in Sun Wukong’s eyes—he had finally found what he was looking for!
A notification sound echoed in his mind as well.

Having found definite clues about the suspect, he had also completed this suggestion.
Ao Xuening knew where Ice-Fire Island was and immediately led the way for Sun Wukong and the Demon King among others.
They flew over the sea, through the thick fog, and deep into the northern darklands.
The hidden demons and ghosts there saw them but dared not cause trouble.
After flying for about twenty thousand li, they could finally see from afar an island covered in glaciers with towering snow mountains.
The kings, being highly skilled, recognized it as an inactive volcano at a glance.
"No wonder it’s called Ice-Fire Island." Sun Wukong’s eyes gleamed. He reached up to his ear and took out the Ruyi Jingu Bang, "Old Sun will first go in for a look, brethren disperse, don’t let him escape."
The Demon King, the Flood Dragon Demon King, the Roc Demon King, the Lion Camel King, the Macaque King, and the Troglodyte King all took out their own spiritual artifacts and spread out to surround Ice-Fire Island from all sides.
Ao Xuening, being only a True Immortal, was eventually dismissed by them.
Then Sun Wukong concealed his aura, his figure flashed, and he quietly entered Ice-Fire Island.
Soon, he found the island quite bustling with numerous small demons noisily carrying heaps of weapons.
"So many weapons, are you staging a rebellion?" Sun Wukong was astonished. The creatures were moving no ordinary weapons; they were all magical spiritual artifacts.
He scratched his head, thought for a moment, and his lively eyes twirled, thinking to himself, "Hehe, transform!"
He instantly turned into a little demon, also carrying a bundle of weapons, and followed the team to a valley.
The valley was unlike the icy, snowy outside, it was a hidden paradise.
However, the mountainous pile of weapons marred the beauty of the place.
Sun Wukong’s gaze finally rested deep within the valley, where there stood a monkey king in golden armor and a golden crown, commanding the creatures from above, urging them to move faster.
Looking at his appearance and attire, he was no different from the Great Sage himself.
Seeing this, rage surged in Sun Wukong’s heart, and he could no longer hold back. He reverted to his original form, also dressed in a purple gold crown, golden armor, and cloud-walking boots.
"Hey, you thief, how dare you impersonate me, usurp the name of the Great Sage, committing deeds of mischief, tarnishing my reputation!" he shouted and immediately attacked with his staff.
"I’ve been waiting for you!" the Six-Eared Macaque sneered, a Ruyi iron staff appearing in his hand.
The two monkey kings, indistinguishable from one another, immediately began to fight.
Both were Daluo Golden Immortals, with many divine skills and transformations, and both had mastered the laws of the staff and the arrow.
Divine weapons clashed, the powers of laws intertwined, and divine light burst forth. The tremendous force that swept through shook the mountains and stirred the seas into raging waves.
It was only then that Sun Wukong truly understood the deeper meaning of ’two hearts in one body.’ He had to admit, this malevolent being was indeed a part of himself, so their strengths were equal, and their skills were identical.
Fortunately, he had reinforcements!
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
As the battle commenced, the Demon King Bull, the Demon King Krait, and others converged from all directions.
"Thief, meet your end!"
"Brother Wukong, we are here too!"
"Wukong..."
The six kings were ferocious but suddenly stopped, unable to distinguish between the two.
Sun Wukong hastily shouted, "Big Brother Bull, Second Sister, what are you waiting for? Help me subdue this thief!"
"Alright!" The Bull Demon King snorted steam from his nostrils, readying his iron staff to join the fray.
The Krait Demon King, the Roc Demon King, the Lion Camel King, the Macaque King, and the Yu Tu King also sprang into action. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Unexpectedly, the Six-Eared Macaque also shouted, "Big Brother Bull, I am the real Sun Wukong, I am the true Great Sage. He is the imposter!"
The six kings stopped again, all perplexed and uncertain about whom to support.
"Argh! This is driving me mad!" Sun Wukong grew even angrier, shook his body, and used the ’Law of Heaven and Earth,’ growing immensely in size.
Daluo mana and the power of the staff’s laws surged forth, channeling into the Jingu Bang.
In an instant, a massive shadow of the staff, with overwhelming momentum, thunderously struck down at the Six-Eared Macaque.
The Six-Eared Macaque was not afraid; he used the ’Law of Heaven and Earth’ too, and his Ruyi iron staff also transformed at will.
The two shouted and fought fiercely, their battle growing more intense. The noises of their conflict spread throughout the land of Beiming and continued to resonate across the North Sea.
Meanwhile, the Bull Demon King and the Krait Demon King, among others, found themselves unable to intervene effectively. They could only continue to surround the Island of Ice and Fire, not letting any Sun Wukong escape!
Sun Wukong certainly did not intend to let this stalemate continue; he was always searching for his opponent’s weakness.
He quickly realized that since the Six-Eared Macaque had been waiting for a long time, he must have known they were coming but chose not to flee.
Was it from arrogance, unconcerned with being distinguished as real or fake?
Or was there another motive?
