Moonlight Bodhisattva looked at Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva with a face full of apology and softly recited a Buddhist chant, “Amitabha Buddha.”
“Sigh!”
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva also felt somewhat ashamed and continued, “Bodhisattvas, please be assured, the fault was mine alone for a moment of carelessness which led to me being deceived.
Once I continue to use my magic, I will definitely make that Macaque follow the agreed matters, emerge from his cave dwelling, and thereafter head to the East Sea Dragon Palace!”
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s voice was filled with unwavering determination.
Being deceived by a Macaque had already made him feel ashamed.
After all, he was one who had achieved enlightenment in ancient times, and now he had been tricked by a monkey.
“We naturally trust the Bodhisattva!”
Sunlight Bodhisattva clasped his hands together, for they had no other option but to trust Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva.
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva nodded and then sat in a meditative pose at Panxi, resuming his spellcasting.
As his mana gathered around him, he unleashed the Dream-Yuan Zen Method.
This time, he easily appeared above Mount Huaguo.
He then entered the formation and instantly saw the orderly training of the monkeys and their offspring.
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva once again found a monkey and possessed it.
He then again approached the front of Sun Wukong’s cave dwelling.
However, this time, to his surprise, no matter how much he called, the Sun Wukong inside seemed as if he had not heard at all—there was no response whatsoever.
Initially, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva thought it was due to the status of the monkey he had chosen.
However, whether he switched to an adult monkey leading many others or an old monkey going there, the result was futile.
Latterly when he spoke of training the monkeys, the Sun Wukong inside the cave dwelling did respond.
But as soon as the East Sea Dragon Palace was mentioned, there was no reaction from inside Sun Wukong’s dwelling.
This completely perplexed Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s mentality as he was here to persuade Sun Wukong to go to the East Sea Dragon Palace.
Not to help train monkeys.
What exactly was wrong with Sun Wukong?
Wasnt he just a member of a fallen Dragon Clan, a clan that didn’t even have a Daluo Golden Immortal?
Was Sun Wukong really that worried about such an existence?
Considering that the Dragon Clan had amassed too much karmic obstruction and received cosmic punishment, nearly all the powerful beings in the Dragon Clan were extinguished in the river of history.
Nowadays, practically any immortal could trample on the Dragon Clan.
Previously, Sun Wukong was able to converse with him, but now, as soon as the East Sea was mentioned, he immediately stopped talking.
After many days and countless methods were tried, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva could only helplessly give up.
With Sun Wukong being impervious to persuasion, what else could be done?

“Bodhisattva, what happened?
Did that Macaque agree to go to the East Sea?”
Seeing Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva open his eyes, Moonlight Bodhisattva couldn’t help but ask.
Although Sunlight Bodhisattva did not speak, his gaze towards Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva was also filled with hope.
“Sigh, Bodhisattvas, I am powerless, I’m afraid I cannot assist you both.
Please seek other senior members of Buddhism for help!”
With that said, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva got up to see the guests off.
He was alone, here peacefully, and now such a difficult problem had arisen, only to trouble himself.
“Bodhisattva…”
Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva watched as the temple doors closed again, their hearts filled with complexity.
“Elder Brother, what should we do now!”
Moonlight Bodhisattva looked at Sunlight Bodhisattva, feeling extremely frustrated in his heart.
This was their mission, they had already sought advice from Tathagata Buddha, how could they have the nerve to ask again?
Yet at that moment, who else could they turn to for help?
Just then, Buddha’s light dazzled from the horizon, endless Buddhist chants resounded, and eight celestial dragons cleared the path, with Garan and Arhat standing on both sides.
Initially, Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva looked helpless and hesitant, uncertain of whom to approach, but upon hearing the changes that were now unfolding, both couldn’t help but look over.
“Elder brother, it’s Buddha Ancestor from the East, Maitreya Respectable King Buddha!”
Moonlight Bodhisattva observed this scene, his face revealing a look of delight.
“How could our Buddha come here?”
Sunlight Bodhisattva nodded, though his heart was filled with confusion.
Maitreya Respectable King Buddha was their future Buddha who, when the time of the Star Misfortune would come, would take charge of Posa Mount Sumeru Pure Land and become the master of Great Thunderclap Monastery, presiding over Buddhism.
“Amitabha Buddha, greetings, Buddha Ancestor from the East!”
Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva, though still somewhat baffled as to why Buddha Ancestor from the East had come here, hurried to pay their respects.
After all, although Buddha Ancestor from the East had not yet become the lord of the Ultimate Bliss World, his status was still akin to that of Sakyamuni Tathagata, and even other Buddhas had to show him great respect.
Maitreya Respectable King Buddha, seeing this, did not act arrogantly and returned the gesture.
His face held a smile, his tolerance remarkable.
“Venerable Bodhisattvas, might there be any difficulty?”
Maitreya Buddha said with a smile.
“Indeed, we have encountered a troubling issue!”
Sunlight Bodhisattva nodded, not hesitating a bit to relay the matter entirely.
“Actually, the reason why this poor monk has come here is due to this issue!”
Maitreya Buddha continued smiling as he said, “Ancestor Buddha Tathagata informed this poor monk that you both need my Boundary-Breaking Pearl, so it could break the Macaque’s formation!”
Hearing Maitreya Buddha’s words, Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva were stunned, their hearts filled with joy.
Since this place was indeed Mount Sumeru Pure Land, naturally under Tathagata’s control, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva couldn’t make Wukong come out, so the only option was to let someone go in.
With the Boundary-Breaking Pearl, the formation arranged by Wukong would naturally be no contest.
And learning from Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva that Wukong’s main reason for not wanting to retrieve the Sea-Calming Needle was his fear of offending the Dragon Clan,
it seemed appropriate to let the Dragon Clan personally invite Wukong, by then, faced with no cost for treasures, how could Wukong refuse?
At that moment, success would naturally be within reach.
Thinking this, both Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva couldn’t help but reveal looks of immense joy.
“Such gratitude to you, Buddha, for your gift!”
After figuring everything out, Sunlight Bodhisattva quickly expressed his thanks.
Moonlight Bodhisattva also breathed a sigh of relief.
Maitreya Buddha, seeing this, nodded slightly, then raised his hand and waved, releasing a beam of light.
It then gently landed in front of Sunlight Bodhisattva.
Looking at the radiant glow of the Treasure Bead, Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva both showed grateful expressions.
“Thank you, Buddha, for your generous gift!
This time, we shall surely not fail in our mission!”
With this Treasure Bead, they now believed that nothing could prevent Wukong from falling into their trap!
“Off you go, carrying out the Journey to the West is a significant affair, do not delay!”
Maitreya Buddha waved his hand, signaling them to leave.
“Amitabha Buddha, certainly so!”
Then the two gathered up the Treasure Bead and swiftly rode away on their Lotus Platform.
