Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer-Chapter 1207: When the black-haired mage came
[OP: ]
When they first came here, Taika had still not evolved. She was still a tiger, so there wasn't much that the natives of this place were interested in.
Creatures like her weren't that rare in this place. Even though this place was underground and was located in a secluded area, there were still many beasts there.
In this unique ecosystem, many of the once thought to be extinct species lived in harmony with the natives.
And these natives, the blue-haired tribesmen, were beings who worshipped those who had a unique harmony with nature and Mana.
The energy beasts that existed here didn't possess refined Mana as he did. To those people, when a certain Black haired mage suddenly walked in here, it was like something incredible, someone unfathomable to them had arrived on their land.
'The first time, they were all scared of me because of the Mana that I had.'
The Mana inside of him wasn't that great. The fact that they were scared of the Mana of a mere (tier-7) mage at that time was something that surprised him as well.
Also, since he was a human, he was similar to the people here. They were humanoids as well. But he was simply much taller than them– twice their size to be precise.
"Hello hello. How's everyone doing?" He was still not used to being called the lord or being looked up to like this, but he couldn't help it.
{ "Everyone's doing fine, my lord~! Oh! Let's go meet them!" }
Ever since his first visit here, the people had accepted him as their lord.
It wasn't just because of his appearance and the Mana he possessed.
In the middle of this place, where the waterfall stood, there was an ancient temple there. That ancient temple had a seal cast on it that prevented them from opening it.
The people here had tried their best to unseal the shrine for many years. The one that cast it were their ancestors and they had written outside that whoever is able to undo the seal will become the new leader of their kind. freёweɓnovel.com
Brian, strangely, just happened to be lucky enough to get the formula right. It wasn't too complicated, the magic sequence was something similar to what he had learned from his teacher.
The blue haired tribe, these smaller and nature-friendly people, were masters of Pure magic– or the kind of magic that the mages aspire to achieve.
They used the very essence of the magic. Not the theory-based spells that were structured and organized.
As he had taught Eon when he was younger, Magic was what one can imagine and manifest.
As long as one could imagine something and had the capacity to manifest it, it became reality. The elemental affinities, one's understanding of the related spells, and even one's mental fortitude to cast these spells did not matter much.
When one uses pure magic, one lets go of the logical side of the magic and only focuses on one's wishes.
If someone wanted to manifest fire and had the capacity to interfere with the state of Mana that could be affected by their will, they could create fire even if they did not have the affinity for fire magic.
However, what Brian ultimately realized after coming here, was also how the magic that he uses, the one with spells and complex structures, wasn't really needed all that much.
'Just like how Alfred wants to master True magic, he realized his use of magic was not as instinctive as these people.'
He learned a lot when he came here. But, even though it was unexpected, he ended up becoming their leader.
He did not know what to do, there were elders in their tribe and even people who knew how to lead them much better than him.
He was merely an outsider here, but after spending some time here with them, he also realized how different these people were from the world that he had known about.
{ "Everyone! The Lord has arrived~!" }
Elanor, the paradise existing within a cave.
A world existing under the foliage of naturally glowing stones, a world that smelled so fresh one would compare it to the smell of wet soil right after the rain.
Here, in this paradise filled with all kinds of resources, all kinds of treasures, all kinds of forgotten elements… with the large waterfall that made a lake in the middle and the greenery that surrounded it, here, a life much different from what the overworld was possible.
This was a world where some of the kindest and purest people lived.
'It was when we lost Eon… I was in grief. Back then, being with these people helped me realize how kindness still existed in the world.'
The blue-haired tribe famous for their kind nature, their enthusiasm in helping each other, their unique way of using magic, as well as their closeness to nature that could be compared to the spirits made them a myth to the current world.
Even though the stories of Small people covered in blue fur were famous among the adventurers of eastern regions, no one had really seen them.
They were like children in their appearance. The ones that he was looking at right now, all the people of the village, also resemble children.
Their purity reminded them of his Anna. He knew for a fact that she was going to love these people.
And, the people here sensitive to human emotions were also going to love her, he knew that much.
{ "Oh lord, our lord!" }
The village existed some distance away from where he had arrived.
The houses here were made from the wood and big leaves of the trees here. They were sturdy and weren't too attractive or anything, but the village itself was peaceful.
The blue-haired people here, at the news of his arrival, had quickly gathered here instantly.
They were excited to greet him. They were happy to have him here, they wanted to show him so many things now that he was here after such a long time that they all started speaking up all at once.
{ "Calm down, everyone." }
However, when an old voice spoke up, all of them fell silent.
The children stopped screaming his name and their parents looked back at the elders who had just come out of their houses.
{ "There's no need to overwhelm the lord like that, everyone. You all should give him some time." }
The elders of their tribe were old. Their kind lived as long as humans, but these people had lived for many decades.
They weren't some century-old beings. They also aged and they also died.
Their kind was very similar to the humans, but one aspect that he had not seen in the entirety of his time here was the selfishness that the humans have.
'These people do not do anything for their own gains. Their 'self' that they have, the common practices that focus on everyone around them, promotes social thinking.
There aren't any great conflicts, they live in harmony and rely on one another.
They understand nature and the laws of nature so the elders who have seen a lot, the people who he had learned a lot from, guide their kind.
{ "My lord, you seem tired. Did something happen on your way here? Have things been difficult in your hometown?" }
Thinking back, Brian found a new goal for his life when he arrived here.
"It's nothing like that. I just had to deal with a lot of things before coming here… how about I tell you all about it after I greet everyone here?
Oh, is that your baby, Miss Uriu?"
The kind nature of these people, the powers that they had, their knowledge and this entire world that they lived in, there was something very enticing about all of this.
'Human greed…'
Brian had seen it himself over the years, the greed of the humans was no less than the greed of the demons.
Humans, by nature, were sinners.
To sin was to live a human life, however, some took it too far and embraced the sin to an inhuman degree.
They took what they wished just because they had power. They disrupted peace just to have what wasn't theirs in the first place.
There were things that humans would want to possess and rule over in this paradise. If people were to find its location, they would do their very best to destroy everything this place stood for… something even the blue-haired tribe was aware of.
That was the reason not just anyone could enter the great barrier cast at the entrance to this place— something he still could not feel.
'They know about the overworld dominated by greedy humans. They know about what goes on in that world.
The elders had even seen human society with their eyes when they went out in their younger days, but just seeing it all must have been enough for them to judge it wasn't something their following generations should know about.'
There was a common practice among them.
Certain individuals among them were chosen to go out of this place and see the world of humans.
These people brought back with them stories about the huge humans that live in humongous houses.
They were skilled and possessed powers that helped them survive, not get discovered by them, and return to this place unharmed.
They would then tell stories of the world with an endless sky to the children. And then, the children would either get scared by their stories, or start dreaming of becoming someone who could go out.
'They are simple beings.'
He may be their lord, but it wasn't simply out of duty that he wanted to protect them.
They were simply too precious.
He did not want the world to know about them. He did not want their purity to be tainted… he knew what the consequences of that would be.
