Chapter 338 - 338: Turned Against Each Other

Their eyes exchanged silent glances as Qin Ming and Kasamoto Eri's expressions shifted unpredictably.

Qin Ming even raised his hand, pulled out his sunglasses, and put them on while silently checking Hannah's data.

Her basic attributes were fine, her skills were fine, and her favorability was also fine—everything appeared normal.

But Qin Ming was certain that this Hannah before him was definitely problematic! After yesterday, whenever Hannah saw Kasamoto Eri, she acted like a mouse encountering a cat—how could she possibly remain so calm?

No! To be precise, it wasn't merely calmness at all—it was as if yesterday's events had never happened!

After a brief moment of silence, Qin Ming suddenly spoke, "Hannah, what do you think of Eri?"

At these words, Hannah was taken aback, her expression slightly puzzled. "Eri? She's pretty good, you know."

"And what about her performance yesterday?" Qin Ming pressed.

"Yester... er... it was pretty good too."

"Mm, I see." With a slight nod, Qin Ming suddenly swung his right arm, delivering a close-range punch straight to Hannah's chest.

Imitating the Overlord Roaring Fist! With a tremendous boom, a blood ball fused with his aura burst apart; caught completely off guard, Hannah was instantly blasted about seven or eight meters away.

"Pretty good?" Qin Ming thought bitterly. Kasamoto Eri, that woman, had gone crazier than even him yesterday—she had even forced Hannah to take photos. Could that really be called "pretty good"? It was now confirmed! The one before him was a fake!

After landing that hit, Qin Ming hammered the ground with a single punch that sent a fountain of blood shooting out over a long distance. Following this, his body trailed red light as he transformed into a fleeting afterimage, speeding toward Hannah.

Grade-A Skill! Heaven Slide!

Without any chance to defend, Hannah was caught in a combo sequence. As she rolled to the ground and saw Qin Ming charging at her, her pupils suddenly contracted. The next moment, her entire form began to flicker strangely and vanished from that spot.

It was like something out of the King of Fighters world—like Athena Asamiya's skill, the premier teleportation technique from that realm: the Mind Transfer Technique! While Qin Ming's Heaven Slide relied on sheer speed, this Mind Transfer was pure instantaneous movement. When pitted against each other, it was clear who was superior.

Having lost her target, Qin Ming slid several meters away on his legs and turned to see Hannah reappearing from the opposite side, his face already ashen. "Adventurer?!" he exclaimed. Since she could use such bizarre abilities not belonging to this world, there was no need to guess her true identity.

Hannah, having escaped via teleportation, glared at Qin Ming with a dark expression. She raised a hand to wipe the blood from the corner of her mouth, her eyes full of confusion. "How did you discover something was off about me?" she demanded.

As she spoke—and as her hand swept across her face—Hannah's appearance and body size underwent a dramatic change. In an instant, she transformed into a relatively short-statured woman: none other than Monkey, the only female adventurer among the four on the protagonists' side.

Seeing this astonishing transformation ability unfold before his eyes—even though Qin Ming had long suspected something was amiss—he was still startled. This wasn't merely a matter of disguise; as she transformed, even her attribute display and favorability changed! It was as if she had completely become an imitator—so convincing that not even "dinosaur glasses" could see through her act! What kind of ability was that? A shape-shifting woman?!

"Innate skill?" Qin Ming asked.

"Exactly!" came the reply.

[Talent Skill: The Mutable One]

[Effect: Can perfectly mimic all of the selected target's data, appearance, and physical structure, and evade all detection methods, regardless of gender.]

[Description: Madam? How dare you assume my gender! I decide whether I'm male or female!]

Gently moving her wrist, Monkey didn't let her unexpected exposure rattle her too much. After all, being discovered would at worst turn a sneak attack into an encounter battle—a minor setback. She knew the guy in front of her was formidable, but no matter how good he was, could he really take on an entire group?!

"Come out, everyone! He's too alert—our plan to lure him into an ambush has failed!"

As Monkey's words faded, footsteps suddenly echoed all around, and in the very next moment, several figures swiftly emerged from the trees.

And they were none other than several other adventurers—and among them, two were protagonists!

Jack in his white attire, Qin Ming's old nemesis, now glared fiercely at Qin Ming; his favorability had plummeted to below –500.

The other protagonist was Mustafa, a Black man wearing a yellow hat with a pair of long legs; at this moment, his expression was extremely stiff.

He hadn't planned to come at all. Although his favorability with Qin Ming wasn't high, they were still on the same side—and not to mention, Qin Ming was even planning to assassinate Dr. Plague this time.

But the problem was, he couldn't resist his lover Tank's earnest entreaties; torn between his comrades and his beloved, Mustafa ultimately chose his lover.

In all, there were three adventurers plus two BOSSes—a suddenly appearing blockade team whose strength was not to be underestimated.

Seeing that both Jack and Mustafa had shown up, Qin Ming was even more surprised.

He had originally planned, for safety's sake, to meet up with the Wild Wolf first and then return to secretly hunt Jack down, but he never expected them to come knocking on his door.

Was this a pleasant surprise or a terrible shock?

With his arms hanging by his sides—blood coiling around them and white flames burning above—Qin Ming remained silent.

Kasamoto Eri, on the other hand, pulled out a light machine gun and slid behind Qin Ming, using his burly body as cover, always ready to fire.

Glaring fiercely with unyielding momentum, the five on the opposing side exchanged glances; then their leader, Tank, suddenly sneered coldly.

"Fighting two against five and not running—seems you really have confidence in your own strength. But isn't that a bit overconfident? Anyone who makes it to the rank of Intermediate Adventurer has got a few tricks up their sleeve!"

No sooner had he spoken than Jack roared angrily and leaped up, delivering a swift kick.

"Why waste time with words? Kill him!"

Jack's kick was both fast and brutal, laced with hatred; only too bad he was no longer facing that rookie he once knew.

Before Jack's airborne kick could land, Qin Ming, who was guarding his position, sidestepped and, in one smooth motion, spun around and swept his leg, kicking Jack out of the air and sending him crashing down!

As the two exchanged blows, the other attackers roared and launched their own assaults.

Tank charged straight ahead; true to his name, he was a bona fide tank.

Having taken a solid punch from Qin Ming head-on, Tank remained unmoved; he withstood Qin Ming's attack and, like a charging bear, grabbed Qin Ming's waist, slamming him hard against a large tree.

Flying Dragon then soared into the air, directly diving toward Kasamoto Eri.

His body moved agilely in mid-air as he dodged the machine gun's sweeping fire, all while wielding his firearm and shooting desperately—the two clashing produced an effect akin to a fighter jet versus an anti-aircraft gun!

Flying Dragon's innate talent was simple: to fly!

He could fly freely without any consumption, with his flight speed determined by his agility—a veritable human fighter jet!

It was precisely by relying on this ability that he had earned his current position. Moreover, all of his skills were focused on long-range output.

After scraping together everything he could—even selling his pots and pans—he finally managed to acquire top-grade firearms proficiency, along with pistols, submachine guns, machine guns, and grenades. This was all Flying Dragon had in his arsenal.

In short, Flying Dragon was a guerrilla warfare master, specializing in hit-and-run tactics! He had even once managed to wear down over three hundred enemies single-handedly through relentless aerial combat!

Against someone wielding a gun, Kasamoto Eri couldn't really take him down immediately!

As Kasamoto Eri became entangled by Flying Dragon, the other four simultaneously pounced on Qin Ming, planning to capture the kingpin first—take down the most troublesome Qin Ming, and then deal with the swift-moving summoned creature.

Tank provided the distraction; Jack and Mustafa delivered the blows; Monkey executed long-range ambushes—the four of them cooperated with uncanny synchrony!

Especially Tank, who was currently grappling with Qin Ming, refusing to let go. His innate talent was extraordinarily terrifying!

[Talent Skill: Heavy Armour]

[Effect: Doubles his own defense]

[Description: Do you even understand the true value of a heavy tank?!]

Clinging fiercely to Qin Ming's waist with both hands, Tank shoved him relentlessly, rampaging wildly as he engaged Qin Ming in a head-on brawl.

Facing Tank's street thug style, Qin Ming continuously threw punches, hammering at his back and head, yet he found that no matter how hard he attacked, Tank remained utterly unmoved.

Even with the added bonus of White Flame's defense reduction, Qin Ming couldn't make a dent in him!

Not even a break in his defence!

While Qin Ming was being held tightly and immobilized, the other three launched a frenzied attack on him—a barrage of skills and weapons aimed squarely at his neck.

However, after a flurry of strikes, an awkward situation arose.

It wasn't that Qin Ming couldn't break through Tank's doubled defense—indeed, Tank's defense was terrifyingly high—but the problem was that none of the others could touch Qin Ming either!

Tank boasted fearsome defense boosts, yet Qin Ming's innate damage immunity was far superior in comparison; his defensive capability was at least equal to, if not higher than, Tank's! More importantly, Qin Ming could also leech blood!

In the midst of a 4-on-1 brawl, the two sides were deadlocked—neither could overcome the other!

After a series of group assaults that finally managed to inflict some damage on Qin Ming, he immediately activated his Blood Leech skill, initiating a large-scale blood drain that restored his wounds!

Most importantly, as Qin Ming unleashed his full skill, he simultaneously clutched Tank's head with both hands. Blood mist began to continuously emanate from Tank's body as it surged crazily toward Qin Ming.

High defense? Sorry! The blood leech effect of real damage completely bypasses your defense!

Even if your defense were multiplied a hundred times, it would still be drained!

And this was why Qin Ming had previously chosen his damage immunity skill—damage immunity and true damage utterly override all other attributes! It was a bug-level ability, second only to invincibility!
