Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss-Chapter 391 - 389: Lumi
Yoora and Hannah walked side by side, eyes wandering left and right as they passed through the open field of the Beast Sanctuary. There were different kinds of creatures—some flying above, some running across the grass, and others hiding behind bushes or trees, quietly observing them. The sun was soft in the sky, casting a warm light across the land, and a gentle wind passed through, carrying the scent of earth and wildflowers.
Minseok stayed behind for a while with Skywing still resting lightly on his shoulder. He closed his eyes for a moment and focused on the warm energy inside his body. He could feel the connection with Skywing clearly now, like a small glowing thread between them. He opened his eyes and smiled softly at her. "I'll tame again soon," he said in a quiet voice, "but for now, I'm gonna focus on you, until we can finally talk to each other."
Skywing let out a soft chirping sound, something like a hum, and gently rubbed her head against his cheek. It made Minseok chuckle.
From a few steps ahead, Yoora turned around after hearing the soft noise and asked with curiosity in her voice, "They can talk?"
Minseok stood up and walked slowly after them, answering calmly, "Well… yeah. They're all supposed to be able to talk someday. But because their strength drops when they match with their master's level, it takes time. If ther familiar reaches B-rank or higher, maybe that's when they speak."
"That's why I want to understand Skywing better first, Before taming another one."
Just then, Hannah gasped and pointed ahead. "Look! That one fits you, Yoora!"
Yoora followed her finger and saw a beast standing proudly on a short cliff—a graceful deer-like creature with long, leaf-shaped ears and soft green fur that shimmered in the light. It had white markings on its legs and a faint glow around its horns that looked like branches. The creature stared at them with golden eyes, unafraid and calm.
"It's beautiful…" Yoora whispered.
"Try to approach it," Hannah encouraged her.
Yoora nodded and took slow, careful steps forward. She focused her mana like Seojun had taught them and tried to reach out with her energy, making sure she didn't scare the beast. But when she got closer, the deer-like beast tilted its head, then turned away and walked off slowly, disappearing into the trees.
"Aww…" Yoora sighed. "It didn't work."
"That's okay," Hannah said kindly. "It takes time."
They continued walking, passing small bird-like creatures, floating jellyfish beasts that shimmered in the air, and even a furry mole beast that vanished underground as soon as they approached. Some tried to bite, some just ran away, and a few didn't react at all.
Then, as they reached a rocky part of the sanctuary, Hannah suddenly stopped. Her eyes locked onto a strange creature crawling slowly across a large stone. "Wait…" she whispered, stepping closer.
The beast was small—about the size of her large dog—with a long, narrow body and six transparent legs. Its back was covered in shiny, silver-green plates that looked like armor, and it had two thin antennae that glowed faintly at the tips. It moved carefully, almost silently, as if it were watching them just as closely.
"What is that?" Yoora asked, surprised.
"It's an insect-type beast," Hannah replied. "But… look at its movement. It's not scared. It's just watching me."
She lowered herself slowly to the ground and extended her hand, not touching it but letting her mana flow gently from her palm. The insect beast paused, then began crawling closer, one leg at a time, until it stopped right in front of her hand.
Then, with a faint sparkle, it tapped her hand lightly with its antenna.
A small magic circle formed below it. Hannah's eyes widened. "It's accepting me?"
There was a soft flash of light, and then the beast vanished—sealed into her familiar space.
Yoora and Minseok clapped. "You did it!"
Minseok smiled from behind them. "Nice, Hannah. What's its called?"
Hannah opened her system and let out a laugh. "It's called Gleam Beetle. Insect-type, E-rank… with affinity for earth." She looked proud, and a little surprised. "I didn't think it would choose me."
Hannah stared at the small beast now sealed in her familiar space and smiled brightly. "I'll call you… Lumi!" she said happily. "Because you shine like light."
Just as Minseok was about to congratulate her again, Yoora suddenly stiffened. Her eyes narrowed. She didn't say a word, but quickly grabbed both Hannah and Minseok by their wrists and yanked them to the side, pulling them away from the center of the rocky clearing.
"Yoora?!" Minseok said in surprise.
"Wh-What is that?!" Hannah asked, blinking through the dust that suddenly rose in the air. A powerful burst of energy swept through the ground, making loose stones tremble and roll.
Then, from the swirling dust, something stepped forward.
A creature with sleek brown fur, sharp golden eyes, and three long, flowing tails stood tall and tense, its fur spiked up like it had been disturbed. Each of its tails flicked differently—one glowing faint red, another with a watery shimmer, and the third dropping dust from its tip. Its claws scraped the earth with slow, warning strokes, and it gave a low growl that echoed through the ground.
"It's… a Three-Tailed Fox!" Minseok breathed out, eyes wide.
Yoora's heart raced, but her body moved on its own. She stepped forward without thinking, placing herself between the fox and her friends. "Step away, Hannah. Minseok. Now."
"But—" Minseok started, but Yoora's voice was firm.
"I said step away."
Hannah and Minseok backed up, nervous and unsure.
"That's a rare beast," Hannah whispered. "A fox with more than one tail is super rare. I heard that each of their tails has a different element, and it's said they became really territorial after what happened five years ago. They don't let anyone near their home anymore."
She looked around quickly. "We must be close to its den. This is dangerous!"
"Yeah," Minseok added, "Yoora, let's go back! Fox-type beasts need a lot of mana to tame, and they're proud. If you force it, it'll attack for sure!"
