Chapter 1326: Not time

When Rain grabbed the ominous sword, he could feel Elisabetha’s anger... she didn’t like to be used like a throwing weapon, apparently. Regardless, Rain caused some damage... even though the sword weighed over a ton now, and it wasn’t showing any signs of getting lighter.

Not everything was so bad since he caused some damage to Arel... but soon, her cut-off arms returned to their spot, and the wound healed like it had never been there in the first place.

Arel stared at Rain without knowing how to react; if she was some run-of-the-mill enemy, she would get pissed at Rain for using such a cheap trick, but she looked more confused than anything. At least for a short while...

Dark spheres began to slowly appear around Arel, and soon they began to take the shape of three pointed shurikens... slowly but surely, their numbers began to increase, and soon Rain realized that she was just taking her time as she waited for the prison to close in.

"I don’t know if it is her sin, but Gluttony definitely is the sin of that giant body and the bacteria," Rain thought. "I have to counter that."

As Rain initiated his movement, Arel swiftly retaliated by launching the dark shurikens formed from the spheres around her. The three-pointed projectiles soared through the air, their trajectory bending in an arc toward Rain. Despite Rain’s adept evasion, an intriguing phenomenon unfolded. As the shurikens closed in on him, an uncanny attraction seemed to manifest, causing their arcs to decrease in size. It was as if some unseen force drew them closer to Rain, defying the typical laws of projectile motion. This peculiar behavior intensified the challenge of evading the oncoming onslaught, requiring Rain to employ a combination of agility and spatial awareness to outmaneuver the converging shurikens.

Quite fast, the shurikens began to approach Rain like homing projectiles. Rain clicked his tongue and split some of them in half, but the sword got heavier... every time it touched them, it became ten percent heavier.

"Is gravity magic related to Gluttony, or is this just one of her powers?" Rain thought.

Rain kept trying to avoid the attacks, but their numbers increased over and over again... before he could find a solution, the weapon weighed over two tons. That had to be a joke...

"It can’t be helped," Rain thought. "I am not supposed to do this without Sakaki, but I don’t have any other choice.

Rain grabbed the core of the chained beast and then prepared to use lightning magic and Psychometry. If he were to obtain the power of light magic that can dispel the effects of magic, he would be on the right path.

Arel’s sharp observations allowed her to understand Rain’s intentions as he reached for the core of the chained beast. Instantly grasping the potential threat, she seized the opportunity to counter his strategy. Without hesitation, she conjured a powerful dark cannon, its shadows coalescing into a menacing form. The dark cannon engulfed Rain, surrounding him in its ominous energy while launching a powerful blast toward him, obscuring him within its dark embrace. The force of the attack surged through him, momentarily disrupting his planned invocation of lightning magic and Psychometry.

The attack passed through the area and landed on the ground, creating a massive deep hole on the ground that apparently had no end in sight... At that moment, Arel realized that she had fallen for another of Rain’s tricks.

Arel looked around, but she didn’t see him anywhere... he was using his domain and the water mirror technique, and somehow, that was enough to escape from her sight. Still, she could feel the presence of wrath. She just couldn’t pinpoint the location... at least for a while...

The power of Rain and Elizabeth’s wrath increased... before long, she felt their presence right above them. Arel tried to fly away while she was spinning, but Rain attacked with the ominous sword after suddenly appearing in the air.

Arel blocked the attack with her claws, but she was still sent flying downward to the bottom of the crater. Rain’s strength added with the weight of the ominous sword completely stunned Arel.

Still, she quickly began to fly and returned to her position only to see Rain completely taken by shadows of wrath, and he had three swords. Two in his hands and one in his mouth. They looked like the same, so she couldn’t tell which one was the real.

"Your species is truly different from the others... such creativity and randomness can’t be found in our database," Arel suddenly said, and she looked amused. "Perhaps calling chaotic nature would be better considering the actions that you showed already. Nevertheless, it makes me think that destroying species like yours is almost a mistake."

Arel’s mention of a "database" stirred a sense of concern within Rain. The term hinted at an organized system of knowledge or information, raising questions about the extent of Arel’s understanding and the potential resources at her disposal. Despite her seemingly confusing words about the uniqueness of Rain’s species, he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a layer of detachment beneath her facade.

As Rain continued his fierce battle against Arel, her composed demeanor during their confrontation perplexed him. While Rain fought with every ounce of his might, Arel displayed an almost casual attitude, as if the unfolding events were merely a curiosity to her. This contrast heightened Rain’s wariness, leaving him both irritated and unsettled. The unpredictability of her actions and the enigmatic nature of her motives only fueled his determination to face this formidable adversary with utmost vigilance.

"I really don’t have time for this..." Rain thought as he saw the prison closing in more and more.

Rain charged toward Arel once more, and then he blocked the dark shurikens with his dark swords... before long, Arel couldn’t help but frown since Rain wasn’t getting any slower, even though the weapons were supposed to be getting heavier.
