"I was thinking about telling Mirage about it, my theory, but I feel like that would cause me to have some suspicions arise."

Reph shrugged, drinking the soda, "It's just a theory, not like it's a definite thing. If you tell him, I don't think he would think much about it besides taking it into account."

Lillian rubbed her chin. "I suppose you are right. Could you tell him for me, though?"

"Hm...? Why?"

Lillian took in the weird look Reph was giving her before rolling her eyes, "Look. As much as I want to take the credit, for such a theory... It'll feel a lot more convincing coming from someone with a higher status."

Just before Reph could respond, Lillian interrupted him with a smile.

"But~... If you are so adamant about giving me the credit, you could just say it was me who thought of it, if the theory were to actually come true."

"..."

Reph gave a loud and exasperated sigh at her words, still confused about her reason. However, he knew where she was coming from.

His words would naturally hold more weight behind them than someone like Lillian, thus causing them to stick in the person's mind longer.

The person in this context was Mirage.

"Very well..." He rubbed the back of his head, moving towards the bin and holding his empty soda can over it. He was then immediately reminded about what had happened to the bin.

He gave Lillian a glance, causing her to let out a nervous chuckle before sighing once again.

"I swear... With you around, or anything having to do with you, makes me sigh more than usual."

"H-hey... That just means you like me, right?"

"..."

Reph stared at her silently, slowly raising an eyebrow at the way she worded it. He then twisted his head around, scanning the surroundings for a particular Assassin before answering.

"Yeah... Sure..."

Lillian smiled wryly at his paranoia. Perhaps she could've worded it a little better. But that shouldn't really matter, considering that Marionette wasn't here.

She looked towards the "Sky", finding it to have turned an orange tint. With how many times she saw it, she couldn't help but remember that she was trapped inside the game world she knew all too well.

'I say that but...'

Everywhere she went, easter eggs that may help her in this world were missing. Granted, some of them were achievements that gifted the player boosts in specific stats, but...

She scratched the back of her head.

That didn't mean that items from these easter eggs should have disappeared. Or could it be... They never existed?

Lillian internally shrugged, 'Doesn't really matter if I have them or not. Isn't like they'll help me throughout the story anyway...'

Now that she thought more about these "Easter Eggs", it brought her attention back to her class and its students. She hadn't really interacted with anyone outside of her small group.

'Is there a need to...?'

She had all the "essentials" already. Two members in her group were extremely wealthy. While the other took a little more convincing to get what she wanted, the other gave her whatever with just a few cuddles here and there.

'I also have Millis, the Heroine. Although... I feel like she's a bit weaker in this timeline...'

Granted, she hadn't seen her in combat besides the Entrance Exam, but still... How could a Tier 2 lose to a mere Tier 1? It was odd...

She shook her head.

'It shouldn't really matter, given the current total strength in the group. We only just need one more member to be completely set for the event that takes place in December.'

Lillian breathed a sigh, stepping backwards and leaning against the vending machine with her arms crossed.

She unconsciously wrapped her fingers into a fist, gripping tightly as the days until the Invasion neared.

If what Marionette said was true about her not making much progress, despite her... "Talents"... Then she would have to work twice as hard as before.

Lillian raised a hand to the lower half of her face. She muttered with a smile, "How exhilerating..."

As she said this, Reph, who had just returned from a trip to another bin, heard what she said and asked:

"What... Is?"

Lillian lowered her hand and waved at him, ignoring his question, "Oh, you're back. I think the Student Office will allow us to go back to the dorms now."

"You think?" Reph tilted his head curiously before looking up into the sky as well. He rubbed his chin and nodded, "I'm tired... I'm sure they would understand that as an excuse, right?"

"It's just volunteer work, anyway." Lillian shrugged, pushing herself off the vending machine and tucking her hands into the pockets of her blazer.

As the two walked away, Marionette and Millis keenly spied on them from an alleyway off to the side.

Well... Marionette was. Millis was just bored out of her mind as she sat on the ground, dragging her fingers around the outlines of the cobblestone ground.

She eventually let out a loud groan as she rested her back against a brick wall, "Uugh...! Spying is so lame and boring...! How can ya sit around and watch people like this for hours?" freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Marionette, who was resting her shoulder against the corner of the wall, looked over towards the Heroine, raising an eyebrow.

"You just have to have patience. That's all." The Assassin then paused before adding, "Do you have ADHD, Vellen?"

"W-wha?" Millis raised an eyebrow at her before widening her eyes. She held her chin with a pondering look before responding with, "Does ADHD include symptoms of not keeping my hands to myself?"

"..."

Marionette slowly turned away from the woman, mentally noting that the Heroine did indeed have ADHD.

She drew her attention back to Lillian's back, which moved further and further away from their position.

As her gaze lingered on the girl, Millis stared at her weirdly.

The Heroine then stated with a teasing tone:

"Ya obsessed."

"I'm not." Marionette immediately responded with a deadpan voice.

"Ya so are, ya dang obsessed, possessive stalker with red eyes!"

"... Must you mock my affection for Lillian?"
