I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 356: Mini Vacation
Not wanting to waste any more time, Logan and his followers boarded the ship designated for them. It was the largest vessel in the harbor—imported from one of the distant islands that had been spared the worst of the previous battles.
The ship itself was a marvel. Its hull was forged from reinforced steel, layered with light brown wood that had faint enchantments and mana crystals embedded into it. The design was aggressive, almost militaristic. Rows of ballistae and magic cannons lined the sides, each window positioned with tactical precision.
As Logan and Lady Elara stepped onto the deck, the crew snapped to attention, offering formal salutes. Behind them came Earl Rosengard and his daughter, followed closely by the rest of Logan's team.
"This is going to be a long trip, hero," Lady Elara said in a stern tone, her arms crossed as she watched the waves. "I hope you and your crew don't get seasick easily."
Logan couldn't help but smirk, thinking back to when he first arrived in this world. He'd struggled with even carriage rides back then.
"That's long behind me," he replied. "I've flown on dragons, dived into tornados , and walked across lava. I think I'll manage a boat."
"And if not?" she pressed.
"I have ways to heal or cure myself," Logan added with a grin as he climbed the last step onto the deck.
Just offshore, two of his newest tamed beasts waited in the water.
Sea-King had wrapped several of his massive, glyph-marked limbs protectively around the ship's hull, anchoring it like a living shield. Electric pulses crackled through the sea beneath him, a quiet reminder of his watchful presence.
Thalas, by contrast, was far more energetic—leaping around the ship's perimeter, diving and breaching the surface with playful excitement. The sea serpent radiated joy, clearly eager to begin the voyage.
Logan glanced over the harbor once more, then looked toward the horizon.
The sea awaited.
And beyond it… the Temple of Darkness.
Kryst was the first to rush to the ship's edge, her gelatin like skin glowing softly under the sunlight. She leaned over the railing, peering down at the creatures in the water with wide, curious eyes.
Without hesitation, the young crystal slime pierced a section of the ship's deck, embedding a crystal into it which reacted like a living gemstone. No one objected—her presence was more of a blessing than a burden. The planted seed of her crystal quickly began to grow, pulsing faintly with energy as it absorbed the surrounding water mana.
It was like growing a tree—but instead of taking months, it took only minutes.
Soon, the energy from her cultivation ability began to flow across the ship's internal channels, passively feeding power into the nearby magic cannons.
"Well, that's one useful slime," Lady Elara remarked, folding her arms as she observed Kryst's work. "I hope you can find one for us to keep in our kingdom."
Logan considered her words, recalling the other slimes Kryst had raised in her personal chamber back in the capital. Some were already approaching level 60. A few had even begun taking humanoid shapes—though none as intricate or expressive as Kryst herself. Still, he had no intention of releasing them outside his own domain. "I'll think about it," Logan said, offering a polite smile—enough to keep her interested, but vague enough to remain noncommittal.
"That's all I ask," Elara replied with a knowing nod. "Thanks for considering the idea. Now then, let's get this ship moving. We have much to do after we arrive."
She gave a short wave to the crew, who immediately began shouting orders and preparing to set sail. Then, as if remembering something important, she turned back to Logan.
"I assume you'll still be able to return me and my knights if we're needed elsewhere? That was the deal, wasn't it?"
"Of course," Logan replied, already anticipating the question. "I can handle teleportation—though I'm not as precise as Silvia. Without her, I can't make new waypoints. So if you leave the ship, only Silvia can bring you back."
"Then let's make sure it doesn't come to that," Elara said, her expression tightening with resolve.
With the tide at their back and someone blowing a horn, the voyage began.
"Good. That's also within expectations," Lady Elara replied with a nod. "Based on the map Earl Rosengard provided, we should arrive in less than two weeks—assuming the seas favor us. That, or assuming no creatures attack… but with your two beasts watching over us, I imagine we'll be fine."
With the ship now fully underway, Logan took a moment to speak with the one steering the ship, confirming their course and defense plans. Once everything was settled, he made his way across the deck to join the others.
Rubina, Lisa, and Serana were seated near the side rail, chatting quietly among themselves. Yui wasn't far either—she stood in the shade, practicing delicate movements. A few members of the crew had stopped working just to watch her, captivated by her elegance and speed.
Logan walked up casually, placing a hand on Rubina and Lisa's shoulders as he leaned in. "So, what are you three talking about?" he asked, his eyes shifting to Serana, who as always, wore a hood that shaded her face and exposed skin. While she was strong enough to walk under the sun without issue, she still preferred to keep herself veiled—perhaps out of habit, or discomfort.
"We were talking about how cute Thalas is," Lisa answered brightly, pointing toward the dolphin-like creature in the distance. "He loves jumping out of the water and trying to reveal Yui's presence using Lumen Echo."
As if on cue, a loud splash echoed beside the ship. Thalas launched himself high into the air, water dripping along his sleek form before a pulse of sonar-like magic rippled outward. The wave scattered across the deck and sea in an arc—and moments later, Yui's position flickered faintly before she vanished again.
Sometimes the pulse missed, but other times it managed to catch just enough of Yui's mana signature to momentarily reveal her. It had become a sort of game between them.
"Well, he's definitely a friendly one," Logan chuckled, watching the interaction. "I'm hoping we get time later to swim. I've been meaning to test out my water abilities."
"I hope it's at night," Serana murmured from beneath her hood. "I'm starting to feel like my skin is shriveling." She slowly rose, giving a small, graceful bow before turning toward the lower deck. "I'll leave you three to enjoy yourselves. Also, Logan… I'll be needing blood later."
Her voice was low—almost a whisper just loud for the three to hear.
Logan didn't respond immediately, just gave a slight nod.
As Serana disappeared below deck, Rubina exhaled softly beside him.
"I really hope her next evolution helps her…" she said, her voice thoughtful. "She's strong, but… it feels like her form is still unstable. I wonder what I'll become once I hit level 80. I'm not used to fighting like Lisa. But I want to be useful to you, too."
Logan offered her a warm smile, keeping his hand on her shoulder.
"You already are," he said. "And whatever your next form is—I'm sure it'll be amazing."
Rubina blushed faintly, looking away.
Below them, Thalas breached again, and the sound of Yui's amused laugh echoed faintly across the deck.
But moments like this—relaxing, connected, and full of laughter and a cheerful crew—were what made the long roads worth walking.
Logan stretched his arms above his head. "I'm sure her next evolution will be great in that regard, I just hope I can evolve at least once more. But getting past level 80? That's going to be hell."
He sighed, already dreading the grind. The level cap past 80 wasn't just a wall—it was a mountain.
"True," Lisa added, glancing at her stats. "I thought I'd hit 83 by now… but I'm still stuck at 81. I guess the war will push us through whatever last phase we're meant for."
She frowned slightly, her fingers tapping over her status page. Her goal was clear—improve her combat stats, not just healing. She hoped the Temple of Darkness would offer the right kind of challenges.
"For now," Logan said, giving them both a calming nod, "we should just enjoy the voyage. Let the crew handle the work for once. We've got two weeks—might as well make the most of it."
"I just hope Silvia and Marie don't overdo things while we're gone," he added with a note of concern. "They've been pushing themselves harder than anyone lately."
"Especially Marie," Rubina chimed in with a sigh. "She barely sleeps anymore. You might have to force her to take a break, Logan. Maybe once you find the Wind Temple… you could drag her along and make it feel like a proper vacation."
Rubina, who had spent the last few weeks tending to nearly all of Logan's creatures and handling logistics back in the capital, finally looked at peace aboard the ship. The fresh air, open sky, and quiet lull of the sea were a welcome change.
"I'll think about it," Logan replied, smirking a little. "But for now, how about we do something fun? I brought fishing supplies, a few board games we can play in the shade… and, of course, a stack of paperwork Leonard dumped on me last minute."
Lisa narrowed her eyes.
"More work? Logan, didn't you say this was going to be a mini vacation?" she said, clearly suspicious.
"Correction," Logan replied with mock seriousness, "I said you were getting a vacation. I just happen to have a small nation's worth of responsibilities tucked into this satchel."
Rubina chuckled, shaking her head. "You're hopeless."
"True but I'm a hopeless king with plenty of beautiful helpers who will want me to finish faster to enjoy my time with them," Logan grinned.
"Fine, let's get this over with…but you will owe us" Rubina and Lisa sighed.
