Chapter 289 -285 Black Technology is Everywhere

Tom’s back!

So happy!

Xiaocao was so happy she felt like she could fly.

The fear of being surrounded by monsters had faded away.

Hummingbird, protecting Xiaocao, rarely showed a smile when she saw Tom appear.

At first, it was just her, protecting Xiaocao.

That was somewhat challenging.

These cheeky monkeys didn’t look imposing.

They didn’t seem to be much of a deterrent.

But only after actually clashing did one realize how troublesome they were.

These monkeys were incredibly fast.

And they knew how to work as a team.

Just after the initial encounter, Hummingbird almost got caught.

Luckily, she was also skilled in speed.

She barely evaded the cheeky monkeys’ claws.

And took the opportunity to shoot, killing one of them.

It deterred the hungry eyes of the other large monkeys.

If that shot hadn’t hit the mark, it would have been a completely different scene, with both Xiaocao and Hummingbird skinned alive by those cheeky monkeys.

Now, these cheeky monkeys were all lured away by Taotie and Tom.

Hummingbird also breathed a sigh of relief, kept Xiaocao behind her, holding a gun in one hand and a Dagger in the other, smacking her lips while eating melon seeds, enjoying the leisure.

These cheeky monkeys were really something else.

Each one was sneakily clever and incredibly agile.

If it weren’t for Taotie and Tom, using their two-meter long Spears to keep a wide attack range and preventing the cheeky monkeys from closing in, both men would have been captured and badly scratched by now.

Even so, Taotie had been wounded.

His arm and thigh bore several claw marks from the cheeky monkeys.

In the deeper places, blood flowed freely.

Enraged, Taotie was stomping and screeching like a banshee.

He was the very image of a wild Zhang Fei.

“Yahhh!”

“Die, damn you!”

Taotie roared, swinging his Spear repeatedly.

He smashed a cheeky monkey against the stone wall so hard the creature let out a “crack” as its bones shattered crisply.

The cheeky monkey slid down the wall, blood spewing from its mouth, body convulsing as it kicked a few times before dying a complete death.

But as Taotie killed one monkey, there were still a dozen more of the same cheeky monkeys left.

The bloodthirsty monkeys, seeing their comrade meet a gruesome end, lost their fear and shrieked menacingly, baring their teeth and claws as they pounced on Taotie.

They attacked him all at once!

Their beastly bloodlust drove them mad.

Even if it meant death, they were determined to rip a piece of flesh from Taotie’s body.

Seeing over a dozen cheeky monkeys charging at him all at once, Taotie felt a bit of panic, but fortunately, Tom was by his side, stepping in at critical moments. When Taotie couldn’t handle it, Tom’s Spear thrust out diagonally, skewering a cheeky monkey into a candied hawthorn stick.

“Charge!”

Tom said to Taotie.

Taotie nodded, grinning broadly.

“Let’s kill these damned monkeys!”

Taotie laughed as he spoke.

Tom and Taotie joined forces, their coordination impeccable.

A dozen cheeky monkeys were no match at all.

In their agile dodging and weaving, one by one, the cheeky monkeys were killed together, either smashed or stabbed to death. In just a short while, Taotie and Tom had wiped them all out.

When the last cheeky monkey was grabbed by the neck and brutally smashed against the stone wall by Taotie, its head burst open on impact, splintering into pieces.

In an instant, blood flowed freely.

The red and white fluids spattered everywhere.

“Ptooey!”

Taotie spat disdainfully, violently throwing the monkey’s corpse onto the ground.

“Princess Your Highness, you all right?”

Tom walked up to Xiaocao, asking with concern.

“I’m fine!”

“Thank goodness you arrived in time!”

Xiaocao said with a giggly smile.

Tom’s safe return had put Fang Xiaocao in high spirits, and she found herself smiling more.

Her eyes scanned Tom, who, despite being covered in blood, was unscathed—it was the blood of those pesky monkeys, not his own.

Seeing that Tom was uninjured, Xiaocao was relieved.

She then shifted her gaze to Taotie, who was following Tom.

To her shock, Taotie was wounded, his arms and thighs were covered with bloody gashes from the monkeys’ claws.

At the sight, a tremor ran through Xiaocao.

Taotie was actually hurt!

Those pesky monkeys looked utterly disgusting, possibly carriers of viruses or diseases.

If Taotie were to get infected, it would be big trouble.

They were deep in an ancient tomb within the mountains.

Who knows how many meters underground.

If Taotie got infected, there would be no chance for treatment, he would be doomed.

“Quick, quick, quick…”

“We need to treat Taotie’s wounds first.”

Exclaimed Xiaocao.

With that, she was the first to rush towards Taotie.

“Taotie, don’t move around.”

“Let Hummingbird help you with your wounds.”

Xiaocao told Taotie.

“I’m okay!”

Taotie said with a beaming smile.

Xiaocao gave Taotie a stern look, “Don’t act tough. These monkeys are revolting, who knows what sort of viruses or bacteria they carry. You wouldn’t want to end up like them, with your body covered in sores and oozing pus.”

“Uhh…”

Upon hearing Xiaocao’s words, Taotie was stunned.

Blinking, he looked at the corpses of the monkeys and then at his own wounds, shuddering, almost shaking an afterimage from his head.

“I don’t want to!”

“I don’t want to end up like that.”

Taotie quickly became compliant.

Xiaocao nodded in satisfaction.

She wore the expression of a teacher pleased with a teachable student.

To get someone as hefty as Taotie to obediently listen, scaring him was necessary, otherwise, he wouldn’t be this cooperative, and would even talk back to her.

Hummingbird and Tom also came over.

Tom began to examine Taotie’s wounds.

Hummingbird took off her backpack, searched through it, and pulled out a medical kit. She ripped open the kit, took out alcohol and iodine, cotton swabs, gauze, and a bottle of clear water, readying to treat Taotie’s wounds.

After a while, Tom stood up and stepped aside.

He gestured for Hummingbird to clean Taotie’s wounds.

“Princess Your Highness, please give me your backpack.”

Tom addressed Xiaocao.

“Huh?”

“What do you need my backpack for?”

Xiaocao asked, puzzled.

“Your backpack has a small thermal box with a tetanus vaccine in it.”

Tom explained with a smile.

“Ah-ha?”

Xiaocao couldn’t help but be surprised.

She never imagined that her backpack would contain something like a tetanus vaccine.

Xiaocao immediately took off her backpack and handed it over to Tom.

Tom received the backpack, unzipped it, and skillfully pulled out a pencil-box-sized container, which emitted the sound of an operational electric motor.

Seeing the small box, Xiaocao was astonished.

“What’s this?”

She asked in confusion.

“A thermal box, it’s also a mini-fridge.”

“Inside there’s a piece of advanced technology battery that can keep this mini-fridge running normally for three days, ensuring that any vaccines stored inside won’t go bad.”

Tom explained, holding the mini-fridge with a smile.

Xiaocao blinked and gave a thumbs up.

“Impressive~”
