After nearly a week in Hexun Cavern, Duke Phorus could not help but sigh in relief. The cramped and dark caverns, plus assaults of monsters of various types was not an enjoyable experience.
'At least, it will be over soon.' The Duke thought. As for the possibility of it being a trap, Duke Phorus had thought about it, but the desire to save his family surpass the fear of it being a trap.
At the very least, there were signs of Witches walking in the deeper part. Namely, the skeletons and some torn grabs, the latter showing signs of deterioration.
While he will not lose sleep over dead Witches, the Duke could not help but worried for his families. Should the Witches become desperate enough for food, they might result to ca- No, he will not fall into that train of thought.
'They need to keep my family safe, if they want to survive when I and the rest of my entourage enter.' He consoled himself, hoping he was right for this one.
Yet, the deeper they went, the Duke could not help but lose hope. Only pushing himself over the hope his family would be kept alive, if not just to torture them.
Truly, he was desperate enough that he hoped his family were tortured. At least, they will be kept alive, but likely very broken.
Duke Phorus did not know how right he was in how broken they were, though, from a different reason than he could ever conjure.

Hildegard had her eyes closed for twenty minutes now, before opening it abruptly.
"They will be here soon." She stated.
Hearing this, the Witches and clones scrambled.
As the Witches spread out, the clones grabbed the women they just bang few seconds earlier before taking them back to the Realm of Lust.
Once the surrounding was cleared of all distraction, the Witches seated themselves, as all of them could not wait to see the look on the Duke's face once he realized how bad his intel was.

"Lord Duke, we are here. I can sense the presence of life, one shaped in humanoid form." His best scout told him. Soon, a scout under General Lazil give the same report.
Duke Phorus let out the beach he had been holding.
"Shield up front." The captain of Guardian of Hex ordered. Quickly, the Guardian of Hex walked to the front, before taking out small shields, the same shield that created wall of light.
As the wall of light make a return, the Duke of Hex looked at General Lazil, watching as the man ordered his subordinates to follow suit.
With their guards up, the rescue team dove into the deepest cavern. As they entered it, a bolt of Mana flew to their direction.
One of the Guardian managed to sense it in time and blocked the attack. However, the block seem to signal the remaining Witches.
Volley of Mana Bolt flew through the air, hitting the wall of light, causing it to flicker and shake. Fortunately, it did not show any signs of cracking yet.
"The Witches should be B-rank ones." General Lazil commented. Duke Phorus agreed with the man.
'So, their plan is to nurture more B-rankers in case of our attack.' The blonde pondered.
It make sense, as nurturing A-rankers are very hard endeavor and require multitude of resources that is hard to find in Hexun Cavern.
Still, a large number of B-rankers could overwhelm their small group of elites. To prevent that, Duke Phorus prepared himself. Taking out a short sword, one he brought to use as his main weapon, a spear, would be near impossible to maneuver in tight spaces.
"Get some light!" he heard General Lazil ordered. Soon, several spherical objects were thrown in front of them.
Knowing what those does, Duke Phorus shut his eyes, others following suit. The Witches, thankfully, did not caught the memo.
So, he heard them screaming in pain, with words like "I'm blind!" and "It hurt!" being thrown around.
Even he could see a steak of light, and he closed his eyes and looked at the other direction in case the light bomb proved too bright even when one looked away.
"KILL THOSE WITCHES!" his captain ordered, earning roar of approval from his men.
Duke Phorus wanted to correct his men, before thinking more clearly. Soon, deciding it would be impossible to keep all the Witches alive if their B-rankers numbers increased significantly.
So, the blonde man did not change the order, and instead observe. Waiting for the right moment to strike.
General Lazil soon took his side, sharing the same idea as he did, apparently. Then again, their men are elites, and at the same time, pragmatic.
They will know when to retreat, and when to strike. While they will gave their lives if needed, they will not do so when a better option showed itself.
Soon enough, some of the Witches were pushed back, with the rest following suit as their line of defenses broke.
They cast multiple Mana Barrier as they retreated. Unfortunately for the Witches, Duke Phorus knew what he is up against, and prepared his countermeasure against them.
Slicing at the Mana Barrier, the mocking look on the Witches faced morphed into one of horror as his short sword easily cut through multiple Mana Barrier like hot knife going through butter.
Duke Phorus smiled, as his investment paid off.
'The anti-mana sword worked as it is claimed. Though, the price is too much, even for me.' If not for the high price and difficulty in obtaining it, Duke Phorus would have equipped his elites with weapon made out of materials that make the sword.
It would easily cause his Guardian to pass through the line of Witches much easier.
"Run!" the Witches yelled, as they began to flee. As his men about to pursue, Duke Phorus put a hand to stop them.
"We don't know if they truly routing or if this is a trap." He reminded them.
The men stopped moving, before continue their march, slow and steady. As they followed the screaming Witches, Duke Phorus' eyes burned with desire and fury.
He is so close to finding his family and he will kill anything that stand in his way!
