Player 658’s world.

Deep night at the Imperial Court.

Leberli was still seated at his desk handling state affairs when the Secretary-General knocked and entered, hesitated after setting down the documents.

The man at the desk gave him a glance and asked, "What is it?"

The Secretary-General replied, "It’s late at night, why don’t we continue tomorrow? You haven’t visited the Queen in a long time."

Leberli’s hand paused in the middle of signing, then he cast his eyes down and ignored the Secretary-General’s statement. The latter could only silently withdraw.

In less than a moment, footsteps again approached, gradually drawing near.

Without lifting his head, Leberli said, "How many times do I have to tell you, I don’t need you to remind me." After speaking, he looked up impatiently, only to see a face identical to his own.

"You..."

He stood shocked, immobile, and the next second, when he wanted to call the guards, the man placed a finger on his lips and said composedly, "The guards at this time are patrolling the western palace, calling them won’t help."

This man clearly had entire control over everything in the Imperial Court.

Leberli calmed down and stared at him, "Who are you exactly? Why are you impersonating me?"

The man looked leisurely at him, "Can’t you tell? I am you from another world."

"Another world?"

"In that world, I am not so devoted to work, staying up late to review documents here," he casually picked up a document from the desk, glanced at it, and chuckled, "And it’s not that urgent either, these can be dealt with later. Why would you rather work here than go to your Queen?"

Leberli, exposed, his expression darkened. "It’s none of your business."

"Fair enough, I am indeed not interested in your Queen. But my Queen is waiting for me, so let’s make this quick."

Leberli didn’t pay attention to what ’make this quick’ actually implied; instead, he was taken aback when he heard ’my Queen is still waiting for me,’ and hesitantly asked, "You... are you very close with your Queen?"

"Of course, otherwise why would I have struggled so hard to take the throne? It was all to give her the best of everything."

Leberli seemed disoriented for a moment, then asked, "Don’t you ever feel like... you know you should love her, but you just don’t…" He spoke very confusedly, his expression also showed some perplexity, then said, "Never mind, it’s nothing..."

The man seemed unsurprised, instead, he silently watched him for a while, then said, "Because you don’t actually love your Queen. The belief in your mind that you should love her is manipulated."

Leberli stared at him, astonished, only to see the man take a couple of steps forward and rest his hands on his shoulders.

"Wake up, otherwise you will be erased as just a character."

...

Player 1567’s world.

Carl kicked a stone on the ground, hands in his pockets, looking around.

"What kind of place is this? Where is everyone?"

He struggled to track Carl in this world, given his elusive nature and proficiency in evading tracking. He had just followed him all the way to this abandoned amusement park, only to be elusively ditched without a word.

Carl checked the time; he had 15 minutes left.

He needed to hurry up, Suisui might have already gone back.

The entrance of the amusement park was rust-covered, chains hung on the gate, squeaking in the slight breeze.

As Carl walked in, he passed the once colorful merry-go-round, now only pale horses and worn decorations remained. The horses’ eyes were hollow, almost as if they were watching every intruder. The fallen leaves on the ground gathered around the merry-go-round, occasionally stirred by the wind, twirling in the air as if controlled by invisible hands.

He shouted outright, "Come out, I saw you!"

But only silence responded.

The roller coaster tracks were covered in spider webs, large spiders glistening unnervingly under the moonlight. The seats next to the track were crooked, some already detached, hanging mid-air, ready to fall.

The neon lights around the area had long been extinguished, only broken tubes remained, with a few still flickering weakly, like dying fireflies.

The entire amusement park was shrouded in a weird atmosphere, as if time had stood still.

"Damn it!"

Carl was getting impatient.

Suddenly, a sniper rifle was held in front of his neck, and a figure swiftly wrapped the gun around his throat from behind.

Carl grabbed the barrel with both hands, kicked off the ground, and leapt up, hanging upside down on the man, wrapping his legs around his neck, and both of them fell to the ground together.

"Let go, let go!"

"You let go first!"

"Why don’t you let go first!"

"Three, two, one, let go together!"

"Okay!"

The two Carls quickly conversed and counted to three together, but in the end, neither let go.

"I fucking knew it!"

The two men wrestled together in the bizarre amusement park for quite a while before Carl was the first to release the other.

"Alright, stop fighting, I’m in a hurry."

He stood up from the ground and then reached out to pull up the other man.

"Are you my twin brother?" asked the Carl from this world.

"Why can’t I be your older brother?" Carl retorted.

"So, it’s really twins?"

Carl was speechless, finding it impossible to communicate with his other self. "No, I’m from another world."

The other quickly accepted it, shrugged, and said, "So, what numbers should we buy for tonight’s Tricolor Ball?"

"That’s not the point!" Carl completely lost his patience. "Shut up and listen to me!"

The Carl from this world pouted his duck lips, his expression somewhat sarcastically indifferent.

Carl said, "Whether it’s your world or my world, it’s all a game. Now Suisui is in trouble. I had to come and let you know, stop dilly-dallying and wake up, or you will be erased."

He finished speaking, somewhat surprised to see that the other had no reaction. He asked again, "Do you know?"

The Carl from this world nodded.

"How did you know?"

He still pouted his duck lips.

"Say something, damn it!"

The Carl from this world grinned and arched his brow, saying, "I saw it in a dream."

In the dream, he was always chasing after a girl, at first just to tease her, then he couldn’t help caring about her, and eventually, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

"So her name is Suisui, is it?"

Carl looked at the other’s eyes lighting up, feeling annoyed. He crossed his arms and lifted his chin, "She’s in my world, and she’s my lover. Forget about it."

The Carl from this world seemed somewhat disheartened.

Carl asked again, "There must be players in your world too, so where’s yours?"

"Oh, I killed her."

"?????"

The Carl from this world spread his hands innocently and said, "Bro, you really can’t blame me. She insisted on getting on top of me and taking my clothes off, I was terrified."
