Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 142: They Have Arrived
Chapter 142: They Have Arrived
Others could follow slowly with the group of cultivators they had recruited.
"Very well, let us go."
They all gathered the desired disciples of their sects and began moving city by city using Minor Teleportation Arrays.
They only stopped when they reached the 15th level. They grouped in the middle city; it was big enough for them as their group in total contained only 66 cultivators.
But they did send some cultivators to occupy the other cities.
"Should we go and check Mian City?"
Ya Ting asked. When the others nodded, they left.
Wasting ten Minor Teleportation Talismans just for scouting did seem like a waste, but all these Talismans were given to them to complete the mission successfully, so they did not hesitate.
All three of them, along with two other cultivators, went to check the city.
After teleporting, they arrived at least 10,000 meters away from the city. These five did not know that the moment they appeared, a pair of eyes was immediately locked onto them.
Baofeng could easily see them. It was at the Mid-Stage of Grade 4, after all—not to mention, beasts had better senses than human cultivators.
It hid itself as there was a chance of being discovered too, since this distance wasn’t much, and human cultivators would be able to see it if they concentrated a little.
Jing Tian immediately came out of his residence and called Jiang Hao. His house was next to Jiang Hao’s residence, so he knew Jiang Hao would be able to hear.
"Brother Jiang, they have come."
Jiang Hao immediately came out and teleported to the city wall.
Those cultivators had already entered the forest, so it wasn’t easy to see them, but it didn’t matter—he waited for them to come to the edge of the city.
Arrays could be made hidden too. The drawing of an array is done using spirit qi; after creating the array, one could hide it with dirt, as it wouldn’t matter—the lines would not diffuse.
Unless these cultivators came within 1,000 meters of the area and checked thoroughly, they wouldn’t be able to find the array.
After some time, he felt someone watching him. The killing intent was obvious—whoever it was wasn’t trying to hide.
The reason he stood so openly was for this moment. Now there was only one thought in his mind: should he let them go or not?
If he killed all five, then these people might not even organize an attack. If that happened, then every thing would for naught. He wanted to end this battle early.
Because they still had to go to the Soul Sea Realm region—it wasn’t far from here. The main city of that realm would be either side of the mountain. They could figure that out later.
After thinking for a while, he let them go. He would only kill them if they came into the open clearing. freewёbnoνel.com

"It’s him. As expected, they have made it to the main city," Zhe Han said while looking at Jiang Hao on top of the city wall.
"I can’t see any array," Ya Ting said while looking toward the clearing.
"Maybe they can’t create arrays," Zhe Han stated.
"Zhi Hui was quite good at making arrays," Ya Ting responded in a reminding tone.
"Quite good at? I thought she was one of the best in your whole sect," Yan Chen spoke.
Ya Ting didn’t say anything as it was the truth. She looked toward the clearing once more and said,
"It might be hidden. In that case, we won’t be able to figure out its size and type unless we go there to check. But I doubt we will even be able to reach near it."
Zhe Han and Yan Chen nodded while looking at Jiang Hao who was standing on the city wall.
"Why did he come out onto the city wall? Does he know we would be coming?"
One of the cultivators with them spoke.
"Who knows? Maybe he has been waiting for us on that wall all along. In the end, we were bound to come to this city eventually. Don’t forget, he can teleport—so if any of us set foot in that clearing, then death is the only conclusion."
Zhe Han responded.
"What an irony—to think the day would come when cultivators of the Azure Sky Sect and Ethereal Cloud Sanctuary would feel scared of someone of the same level to the point that they wouldn’t even want to appear in his line of sight," Yan Chen said while sighing. Although they had decided to help these two sects, it didn’t mean he liked the dominance of these two sects.
If not for the fact it was to protect themselves from utter destruction by the spirit beasts, they wouldn’t have agreed to help.
Zhe Han was about to reply when Ya Ting gestured for him not to escalate. No matter what, it was the truth nonetheless.
"Let’s go back. It’s impossible to decide if there is an array or not here, but we can figure it out later with the help of the cultivators we’ve gathered, so it’s not a problem. The only thing that will become a problem is that we won’t be able to create any traps."
Ya Ting said and took out a Minor Teleportation Talisman and used it openly. She left immediately, followed by the others quickly, because the spatial rift would definitely be seen by Jiang Hao and he might attack.
Jiang Hao went back, and Baofeng once again began keeping an eye out for new arrivals.
Gradually, twenty more days passed by, marking a total of one month till the opening of the Inheritance Site.
Today, Baofeng was just lazing around on the city walls when he smelled a lot of human cultivators coming toward the city. Even with his senses, it was impossible to tell how many there were. It immediately informed Jing Tian about this new development.
When Jing Tian learned about it, he was stunned. If even Baofeng wasn’t able to tell how many people were coming, then the numbers were definitely far higher than the estimated cultivators of these three sects.
Also, it was impossible for other cultivators to arrive so early in the main city unless they had traveled non-stop with only one purpose, to arrive here.
Everything was pointing to only one conclusion, that these sects had recruited more cultivators to their bidding. As expected from shameless bastards, they were afraid to face Jiang Hao and Ming Yue alone.
He sighed and went to inform Jiang Hao about it. He couldn’t help but wonder what choice he would make. No doubt he was immensely strong, but in front of so many cultivators, it might not be enough right?
"Brother Jiang!"
After calling, he waited, and in a second, Jiang Hao came out and looked at him.
"They have arrived, but... the number is far more than I imagined. It seems they have persuaded others to join them against you two. If I may be blunt, Brother Jiang, then I think you should stay in the city. They might try to anger you into coming out, so please control yourself."
Jiang Hao only looked at Jing Tian but did not comment. Instead, he teleported in front of Ming Yue’s residence and looked at the barrier. Unlike him, she didn’t want to leave her barrier open. It wasn’t because she wanted to cultivate seriously; she, just like him, didn’t need much concentration.
The real reason was that she wanted him to break that barrier, in fact, she said it should be similar to how he had done earlier to Yu Yan’s house.
The reason? She wanted to see why Yu Yan was so scared. Although Jiang Hao already knew this wasn’t the truth, she was just doing it for fun, he shook his head and punched hard. If he didn’t do it, then she would keep complaining to him about it.
So it was better to just be done with it once and for all.
Ming Yue’s residence was also next to his, so it wasn’t far. Jing Tian was watching him without even blinking, he also wanted to see Jiang Hao in action.
There was no suspense when the punch landed. It created a loud bang and the barrier shattered like fragile glass. Jing Tian looked at the barrier and sighed inwardly, that punch would have been enough to turn him into meat paste.
Ming Yue came out of the house, nodding as if she understood why Yu Yan was so scared.
Jiang Hao sighed inwardly. She really can be childish sometimes.
"Junior Brother, have they arrived?"
"Yes, Senior Sister."
He nodded.
"Then let us go and welcome them, Junior Brother. Our guests should praise our warm welcome for them."
Jing Tian wanted to persuade them again when he heard that, but since he had already told Jiang Hao everything, he didn’t have to intervene again. Jiang Hao could decide for himself.
But his thoughts were disrupted when he saw Jiang Hao nod in agreement instead of persuading Ming Yue against it. He could only sigh. Looks like Jiang Hao didn’t understand when he said the number of enemies was beyond his imagination.
After all, Jiang Hao didn’t have knowledge of exactly how many he was talking about. Forget it, once he sees it, he will understand himself why he had said to stay in the city to avoid this conflict.
Jiang Hao took Ming Yue and arrived at the city wall.
