Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 112: Signing A Blood Contract
Chapter 112: Signing A Blood Contract
He wanted to find a spirit beast that had an advantage in speed, so wolves and foxes were the best choice.
He looked in the area where Grade Three spirit beasts were. After one hour, he found some beasts, but none were wolves or foxes, so he kept searching.
He was low-key hoping to meet the fox he had encountered previously. She would have definitely given birth by now, and if by any chance her partner was truly dead, then there was a chance she was still staying in this region.
After travelling for long enough, he found a cave. This area was nearer to where he had found the fox, and sensing the strength of the beast, which was at the peak of Grade Three, he had hopes that it was her.
When he entered the cave, he saw two big eyes looking at him warily, but when the fox realised it was him, her eyes lit up.
Jiang Hao sighed. He wanted to find her because she might agree to his request. He would ask her instead of threatening. If she agreed, then everything would be fine. If she didn’t want to do it, then he wouldn’t force her by threatening her.
In the end, he still had to sign the blood contract of master and slave between them. He couldn’t allow any kind of lapse in his mother’s safety.
Given how she was alone today as well, it was evident her partner was dead. His eyes went to the small fox peeking from behind her.
Well, she wasn’t alone.
"Listen, I have a proposal for you. If you don’t want it, then you may reject it. Do not accept just because you are afraid of me."
The fox became confused about what he was saying.
"So here’s the reason why I said that. I want you to sign a blood contract with me."
The fox trembled inwardly. For a beast, signing a blood contract with a human was a taboo. It was ingrained in their bloodline. But instead of reacting, she still listened to him. Jiang Hao was quite strong, and sensing that he had already reached the peak of Grade Three, his strength would have tremendously increased from before.
If he wished, he could easily subdue her and even take her child as a hostage to forcefully sign a blood contract with her. So him saying that she could refuse it if she wanted to was already calming enough for her.
When Jiang Hao saw that she was still listening to him without showing aggression, he sighed inwardly. He had brought up signing the blood contract directly without explaining why, to check if she was against it or not.
Seeing that she trusted him and still hadn’t lost her temper was already good enough for him.
"So the thing is, I want to sign a blood contract with you for sixty years. After that, you will be free. After signing the contract, you will have to follow me to live in an area that has very little spiritual energy.
But don’t worry, I will provide you with many Grade Three and even Grade Four spirit herbs, along with blood cores. So the resources you will have will be more than what you can obtain here.
As for whether I will release you after sixty years or not, I will take the Heavenly Oath right here and now.
I, Jiang Hao, take this Heavenly Oath to release you after sixty years from the blood contract, if you sign with me today."
The fox was stunned. Sixty years was nothing for her, and if what Jiang Hao said about providing them with resources even greater than what she could get here was true, then it was perfect for her and her child.
Even if she didn’t get any resources from him—since he hadn’t taken any oath regarding that—it wouldn’t matter to her. She was already in his debt. She would even be willing to sign a blood contract for a 500 years to repay him, much less sixty years.
She immediately nodded.
Jiang Hao sighed in relief.
"Then let us proceed."
Signing a blood contract wasn’t difficult. In a master-slave type of contract, all he needed was to place a drop of blood on her head, and she had to accept it willingly according to the vow of agreement.
He followed the procedure and placed a drop of blood on her head, which shined when she accepted it willingly. It fused with her forehead.
Jiang Hao knew that she had become his contracted beast immediately. There was a mark on his forehead as well, which disappeared after emerging for just a single breath.
He could sense this mark. He knew it was inside his soul, which still hadn’t awakened, but he didn’t need to awaken his soul sea to feel it.
He tried to contact her through it.
’Can you hear me?’
’Of course, Master.’
He immediately received a response from her. He sighed and replied.
’Just call me Jiang Hao, you are far older than me.’
’No can do,’ she shook her head immediately.
Jiang Hao looked at her and let it go. Maybe in beast terms, she might not be much older.
Instead of talking through the mind, he began using his original voice.
"Fine then, let’s go. The reason I wanted to sign a blood contract with you is because I want you to protect someone precious to me."
"It’s alright, Master. Don’t worry. I will definitely do whatever you want me to do."
She had just used her normal voice, but Jiang Hao understood what she was saying. Blood contracts really were quite handy if signed on equal terms.
Jiang Hao came closer to her and looked at the little newborn cub. It didn’t seem to be wary of him. It was pure white with a little tuft of orange-red hair on its head and the tip of its tail—just like its mother.
"He is four months old."
Jiang Hao nodded. He also came to know that it was a he.
He wasn’t going to give them names. They might go separate ways after sixty years, so forming deeper bonds with them was meaningless.
He placed both his hands on them and used two Minor Teleportation Techniques to come closer to the mountain range. It was because she was quite big.
After travelling some more, they reached the mountain range.
"You will be staying here from now on."
He didn’t stop and moved toward the village. It was still night.
The fox followed him with the little cub sitting on her back.
"See that village? You have to protect that. Although it is in barren land and no danger usually comes to it, so you don’t have to worry much about it.
The main thing you will be doing is taking care of my mother. See that house?"
Jiang Hao pointed toward a single wooden house in the corner. It was his house.
"You have to bring a Stage One Qi Refinement beast daily. It will be better if it is a goat- or rabbit-type beast.
Just drop the beast in the farm behind it at midnight without being seen by anyone.
I hope you understood."
The fox nodded and said,
"I will do as you say, Master."
"Good. Come with me. There is a good place for you to stay here."
Jiang Hao brought them to the cave in which he had met Senior Hu Tian. This place was quite well hidden naturally, so it was a perfect place for them.
"Here, take this."
He took out a lot of Grade Three and Grade Four spirit herbs along with many blood cores.
She was stunned. It was far more than what she had expected when he said she would gain more from him than she could by herself in the Dark Forest.
"Master, this is too much."
"Don’t worry about it. This is far less than what I will give you, so do your work properly."
She was stunned again. So this wasn’t even the end of what she would receive.
She didn’t stop him. Since he seemed fine with it, there was no need to deny too much.
"Then I will be going now. Take care."
"You too, Master."
Jiang Hao left and came to the village.
After seeing his mother asleep, he waited for her to wake up. He was going to tell her about it so she wouldn’t be frightened after finding a spirit beast in the farm.
His mother woke up naturally in the morning. After seeing him awake, she was surprised.
"Hao’er, you should sleep more."
"Mother, I’m fine. Come here. I have to tell you something."
"What is it?"
Jiang Hao, instead of answering, took her to the back of his house where the farm was.
"Mother, every midnight, a beast will be dropped here for you. It will be similar to the meat you’ve eaten before when I brought it. Don’t worry about the process of how it came here. Just accept it. It is for you."
She was stunned. She didn’t know how it would come here. She knew that he had already started walking the path of immortality, but how could this be possible? Would it come out of thin air? There was definitely something he was hiding.
"Tell me how it will appear?" she asked in a stern tone. She knew that he had been hiding something from her from the beginning, from the day he had said that he had started following the Immortal Path.
