Harem System: Spending Money On Women For 100\% Rebate!-Chapter 223: Destined Encounter Or...?
Kyle got back up and his mind was clearer but soon realized he was more damaged than he thought.
Kyle knew how people's past always came back to hunt them once they hit the big screen and if he didn't uncover the secret about his past, someone else will.
This was what he couldn't risk because if there was something that could implicate him.
Kyle had to bury it, he looked at the broken man beneath and thought about calling an ambulance but they wouldn't come.
Kyle sighed, realizing he couldn't leave this man like this because he was the one responsible for this.
He was trying to survive even if it meant harming other people, this has always been how the world worked.
Survival of the fittest doesn't always have to be violent, it could be something as simple as social discrimination where the poor do not have the same opportunities as the rich.
There was so much wrong in this world but this was something that Kyle always knew.
He experienced this harsh reality at an age no one should have to.
Kyle leaned over the unconscious man and elevated his head with his ragged shirt, staining his hand in the process.
However, Kyle didn't care about this because, for some reason, he wanted to make sure this man was going to be okay.
He looked at the damage he did to his face, there was no way this man wouldn't need medical attention.
Kyle came here for a mission but he was occupied with something else, he didn't understand why this was happening but knew he couldn't beat everyone that attacked him or he would have a case on his hands.
Kyle's wound might have healed but he felt the scar throbbing, like his body was calling for something.
"Clarence… You bastard," Kyle muttered under his breath but heard footsteps soon after.
Kyle looked over his shoulder and assumed a defensive stance but what he saw made his heart drop.
It was the same child he had seen previously, the one he handed a note but Kyle noticed that she had bruises on her body she didn't have previously.
They must have tried to take the money from her. Of course, they did but Kyle noticed in her little clenched fist that she still had the dollar note he gave to her.
"DON'T HURT BIG BROTHER!" The girl screamed at the top of her lungs before blindly charging at Kyle.
If Kyle was a bad man, there was no way a child was saving this man before him if he did intend to harm him but Kyle realized that he might be the bad person in this story.
Kyle took a step away from him as the child acted as a barricade between her and her older brother.
The tears in her eyes showed Kyle that this child was scared, the way she trembled with every breath.
Kyle quickly placed his hands behind his back to hide his fists, he couldn't let her see it.
"I met him like this. You see that," Kyle pointed at the cloth that kept his head elevated.
The way he positioned his hand made it impossible to see his knuckles.
"I did that, your brother needs medical attention," Kyle's voice was soft and this was enough to convince the child that he wasn't a threat.
She lowered her hand that had a small knife in it and Kyle heaved a sigh of relief.
He needed to gain her trust because there was no way that he was going to use force to subdue her.
"Can you help?" The girl stuttered but Kyle shook his head.
"But doctors can," Kyle responded but the girl looked confused hearing this word.
"Doctors?" She asked with a confused look on her face like this word was alien.
Kyle knew she was illiterate but there are certain words that people knew regardless of their educational background.
"Yes, people that fix others," Kyle responded with a raised brow and the look on the girl's face changed, the excitement in her eyes telling a different story.
She ran to her brother, completely ignoring Kyle like she didn't just perceive him as a threat moments ago.
"You hear that, brother!" The girl was filled with excitement and Kyle remembered that she was a child, no more than 3-4 years old.
"You're going to be okay!" The girl said but the brother was unresponsive, this sight made Kyle feel guilty which was strange considering he hadn't felt much remorse throughout his life.
"Your brother is having a little nap," Kyle responded, trying his best to make her feel safe.
Kyle could have left but found himself rooted in place, he couldn't leave the man like this especially now that he confirmed he had a younger sister.
What were the chances of that happening? It was almost like the universe brought him here for this reason.
"Can the doctors fix Mama and Papa?" The kid asked but Kyle raised a brow in confusion.
"Your parents? Where are they?" Kyle asked.
"They are sleeping but big brother put them in the ground so they don't get cold," The girl said.
"I see…" Kyle responded. He had no intention of breaking her illusion but there was no doubt that their parents were dead.
"What is your name?" Kyle asked the child which prompted her to turn around.
"Jasmine," The kid responded and Kyle knew that he would have to introduce himself as well to break any sort of ice.
"I'm Kyle, nice to meet you, Jasmine," Kyle greeted her with a smile to which the kid returned.
There was nothing to be done at this point because Kyle still planned to return to his 'home' but he couldn't carry this man with him so what was the next course of action?
"Jasmine, I will need you to stay with your brother until I return, can you do that?" Kyle asked and Jasmine nodded.
"Are you going to bring the doctors?" The clueless child asked.
"Yes, I am," Kyle responded but did he truly have any intention of coming back?
