"DIDN’T I just tell you you’re not allowed to leave the house?"

Yuno avoided Ki Gayoon’s sharp eyes.

Of course, he knew that his lover would be pissed.

But what could he do?

He had a day job aside from being a Guide.

I already quit my part-time job at the convenience store, and it’s fine since Haerin Noona and Grandpa Maknae can manage the place without me.

It was different from his job as a webtoon artist, though.

So, I really have to go.

"Hyung, I’m just going to meet Writer Youngji," Yuno said, finally finding the courage to look at Ki Gayoon. As expected, he looked pissed. "And Nam Sori will be there, too. Remember her? She’s my Esper best friend— the one who belongs to the Rogue Clan. Nam Sori is strong, so she can protect me if something happens. And I can bring Dabin Hyung or Inwoo Hyung. Even Baekho Hyung-nim, if you’re willing to lend me your right-hand man."

Ki Gayoon looked at Yuno with an indifferent look on his face.

Hyung looks scarier when he is this quiet.

Ki Gayoon was about to say something, but he was interrupted when his phone rang. He raised his hand as if telling Yuno to not leave his sight before he answered the call. "Yes, Woonhak Hyung?"

Kwon Hojun and Kim Jaeha were still at Lee Woonhak’s small hospital, so the call could be about the two kids.

"Leehan was badly hurt?"

Okay, that got Yuno worried. "What happened to Leehan Hyung?"

"We’ll be there, Hyung," Ki Gayoon said, and then he ended the call. "Get ready, Yuno-ya— we’ll go to Woonhak Hyung’s clinic. There’s a café on the first floor, so just ask your friends to meet you there."

YUNO clutched his chest after seeing Leehan, lying on the bed while his entire body was wrapped in a white bandage.

Hyung...

"Esper Leehan-ssi’s entire body was burned as if he was burned alive," Lee Woonhak explained carefully. "I used my power to heal his burn marks, but it wasn’t enough. So, I used a healing Item from my Inventory." The Healer pointed at the white bandages. "Those bandages aren’t normal bandages. They’re called <Mummy to the Rescue>, and they’re specifically used to heal burn wounds. Unfortunately, my skill and my Item aren’t enough to completely get rid of the burn marks all over Esper Leehan-ssi’s body. He’ll live, but the marks will stay."

It was enough.

What’s important is Leehan Hyung survived.

"Was it Ryu Sungbin’s flame?" Ki Gayoon asked, clenching his jaws tight. "Only that bastard’s flame could damage an S-Class Esper like Leehan."

Right?

And it’s plausible since Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi is living with Sajangnim now.

Then, that almost meant...

Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi is trying to isolate Sajangnim from his protectors.

"I also believe that the burn was caused by Esper Ryu Sungbin-nim’s flames, but it’s better to ask Esper Leehan-ssi once he wakes up," Lee Woonhak said. "I wasn’t able to talk to Esper Leehan-ssi since he passed out at the entrance of my clinic. It might have taken all the strength in his body to come here."

Yuno clenched his hands tight.

After all, Nam Sori and Leehan were friends before Yuno met the two.

Sori will be mad as hell.

"Gayoon-san, will it be alright if I kill Sungbin-san?"

"Hell, no," Ki Gayoon said sternly. "Ryu Sungbin is mine to kill."

"Alright then," Haru said, smiling. But his eyes were as cold as Lee Sarang’s ice. "I’ll try to retrieve Noa-san without killing Sungbin-san. But you have to cut me some slack if I end up tearing a limb or two."

"Just break his bones," Ki Gayoon said, frowning. "If I win with Ryu Sungbin in that condition, people will think I just got lucky."

Why are they talking like they’re confident they can hurt the #1 Esper (officially) that easily?

"Is Noa-san in danger?" Lee Sarang asked worriedly. "Is that why Leehan-ssi fought Sungbin Oppa?"

Ah, Sarang Noona doesn’t know.

"Sajangnim made a deal with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi," Yuno explained. "We don’t know exactly what the deal is, but Sajangnim promised to share his unsealed memories with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi." His eyes then landed on Leehan who was still unconscious, bandaged up from head to toe. "If Leehan Hyung ended up fighting Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi, then it only means that Sajangnim has already started unsealing his memories. And, if that’s the case, Sajangnim is probably in a comatose state right now."

"Comatose state?" Haru asked worriedly. "Then how long is Noa-san going to stay in that state?"

"It could be three days to a week," Yuno answered politely. "It took Sajangnim a week in a comatose state when he sealed his memories with my help. That’s how long it should take to unseal his memories, too."

"Then that means Noa-san is in a vulnerable state right now," Haru said, and he looked very worried. "All the reason for me to go there and save him."

"Sajangnim is literally untouchable while he’s in that state, Haru-nim," Yuno said while shaking his head. "Not even the natural S-Class Espers could touch him while he’s in the middle of unsealing his memories. After all, none of you could match the thing that’s currently protecting my boss."

Ki Gayoon, Haru, and Lee Sarang— all natural S-Class Espers— looked at Yuno curiously, and the three were obviously waiting for him to explain more.

Is it okay for me to reveal Sajangnim’s secret?

To be fair, it wasn’t really a big secret, and Yuno was sure Moon Noa wouldn’t mind if he shared it with the people he trusted.

Plus, I need to stop Haru-nim from going on a Rampage.

"Everyone, don’t forget that Sajangnim is the first S-Class Guide in the entire world," Yuno reminded everyone in the room. "He’s the Guide that the System loves the most."

"Ah," Ki Gayoon commented when the realization hit him. "The System is protecting the old sly fox then."

Ryu Sungbin frowned when his hand was burned.

He tried to touch Moon Noa’s face, but his hand hit an invisible barrier— and it burned his hand when he was supposed to be fireproof.

Worse, his healing ability was slowed down.

"Noa Hyung, I guess you have perks as the first S-Class Guide in the world to awaken. The System is probably protecting you," Ryu Sungbin said, half-worried and half-relieved. "Is that why you’re confident to unseal your memories in my presence?"

YUNO was surprised when he saw Haru smoking in the smoking area of the clinic.

The ex-prince looked sexy while leaning against the wall, puffing smoke out of his mouth.

I can’t believe Sajangnim didn’t waver when Haru-nim has been seducing him all this time.

Anyway...

Yuno actually followed the ex-prince because he was worried that he might sneak out and go to Moon Noa’s mansion.

I can’t have him picking a fight with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi.

First of all, Ryu Sungbin was Ki Gayoon’s enemy.

Second, I’m not sure if Haru-nim can really beat Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi.

"Why did you follow me here, Yuno-kun?" Haru asked, smiling kindly at him. "Don’t worry, I won’t pick a fight with Sungbin-san. I believe you when you said Noa-san is safe since he’s being protected by the System."

"Thank you for believing me, but that’s not the only reason I followed you here, Haru-nim," Yuno said, hesitating for a moment before he finally said what he wanted to say to the ex-prince. "I can tell when Sajangnim is going to wake up."

Now it was obvious that he had Haru’s attention.

The prince’s gaze alone commanded, "carry on."

Hence, Yuno continued with his explanation even without the ex-prince asking him to do so directly.

People with a commanding aura like Haru-nim and Gayoon Hyung are really cool.

"I will remember every piece of memory that Sajangnim will retrieve, and that’s how I’d know he had already woken up," Yuno explained, more confident this time. "When that happens, I want you to quickly retrieve Sajangnim. Don’t let him stay with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi or else, you’ll lose my boss forever."

"You’re making me nervous, Yuno-kun," Haru said, and he sounded really worried. "Is there something that you want to say to me?"

To be honest, he wasn’t sure about what he was trying to say because his memories were still blurry.

But it won’t hurt to give Haru a warning.

"Sajangnim will return to his old self once he retrieves his memories," Yuno said awkwardly. "And the old Sajangnim is cold and scary."

"WHAT HAPPENED to Leehan Oppa?"

Aigoo.

Yuno didn’t want to admit this, but Nam Sori looked scary at the moment.

She’s my best friend, so I know she’s really scary when she’s this angry.
