Guide Me If You Dare-Chapter 198: A SILENT RAMPAGE
Chapter 198: A SILENT RAMPAGE
YUNO was dragged home.
He actually didn’t want to go home yet because he was still worried about Kwon Hojun and Kim Jaeha.
But it looked like Ki Gayoon would go on a Rampage if he resisted.
So, here I am now— back at home.
By ’home,’ Yuno meant Ki Gayoon’s house that was destroyed by the flood that Lee Sarang made recently.
That was the reason why they moved into Ki Gayoon’s penthouse.
But they were back at his lover’s newly renovated house— the one known for being built like a fortress.
This is probably Hyung’s safest property, that’s why he brought me here.
"Noh Yuno, from now on, you’re not allowed to leave the house," Ki Gayoon said in a cold, distant voice while looking at Yuno with glowing red eyes. "Not until I’ve killed all the bastards who want to take you away from me."
Ah.
Hyung looks calm on the outside, but he’s actually on the verge of a Rampage— a quiet Rampage, that is.
To be honest, this looked scarier than a normal Rampage.
When Ki Gayoon was in his ’normal’ berserk mode, he was often set to go on a killing spree— no matter who was in the way.
But with this quiet Rampage, Ki Gayoon was only focused on one person.
Yes, Hyung could only see me.
Yuno should be scared because this was not the Ki Gayoon that he knew and loved.
This Gayoon Hyung looks like he’s ready to manhandle me and disrespect my wishes.
"Don’t even think about escaping, Noh Yuno," Ki Gayoon warned him coldly. "I won’t hesitate to break your legs if you do. But don’t worry. I have potions to heal you, and I can call Lee Woonhak if I have to. Having said that, I really won’t hesitate to break a bone or two if it means I could keep you safe here. You’ll probably end up hating me if I do that, but I’d rather you hate me for the rest of your life than me losing you for the rest of my life."
Aigoo.
It seemed like Yuno had been completely blinded by love.
Ki Gayoon was acting like the red flag that he often preached about.
But I can’t hate Hyung, and I’m trying to justify his need to confine me here.
Hah.
Yuno had become a hypocrite, huh?
When did I start wearing this rose-tinted glasses when it comes to Gayoon Hyung?
"Hyung, I’m not going anywhere."
"Of course— I’ll make sure you can’t go anywhere."
"Stop saying scary things," Yuno said, approaching Ki Gayoon carefully. "Just listen to me first, okay?"
Ki Gayoon gave Yuno a look that said he shouldn’t come closer.
But Yuno ignored the silent warning anyway and crossed the line that Ki Gayoon had set.
What’s he gonna do? Kill me?
Oh, please.
"Hyung, this is probably why Esper Ryu Sungbin leaked the fact that they’re planning to kidnap me," Yuno said, cupping Ki Gayoon’s face between his hands. "They want to distract you, and they want us to panic. So, let’s not fall into their trap. Let’s focus on your upcoming match with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi, okay?"
"You don’t have to worry about that, Noh Yuno. There won’t be a match if I kill Ryu Sungbin now."
That wasn’t an empty threat this time.
In the past, whenever Ki Gayoon would say that he’d kill Ryu Sungbin, Yuno would notice his lover’s hesitation.
But not this time.
Gayoon Hyung looks like he’s going to kill Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi for real.
Yuno used his Mana to guide Ki Gayoon while he was cupping his face between his hands. He didn’t want to guide his lover earlier because he wanted to calm him down by talking it out.
After all, he knew that Ki Gayoon was acting this way because he was worried about him.
But it was the wrong decision.
I should have guided Hyung from the beginning.
"Gayoon Hyung, you haven’t seen me angry yet, have you?" Yuno said coldly. He didn’t want to fight fire with fire, but he had to have the upper hand. If he tolerated Ki Gayoon’s craziness, his lover would only get worse from here. "I haven’t told you how I was able to escape from the Lab before Sajangnim rescued me, have I?"
It was a part of Moon Noa’s sealed memories.
And Yuno avoided talking about since his memories about that time was hazy anyway.
But there was one thing he was sure of.
"If I want to disappear, then you can never find me again," Yuno said sternly, making Ki Gayoon’s face darken. He knew he should shut his mouth and stop making the Esper angrier, but if there was something he couldn’t stop even in a life-and-death situation, then it would be running his mouth. "Don’t test me, Hyung. I’m trying to accommodate you here because I know you’re only worried about me. Heck, I’m a willing captive here. I mean, why would I want to leave the safety of your house when I know there are people out there who want to kidnap me? Stop getting angry and start using your brain, okay?"
Ki Gayoon glared at Yuno, but as if that would work.
Hence, Yuno continued yapping.
Now that he thought about it, Ki Gayoon had no right to be angry when he was being compliant all this time.
I even allowed him to drag me back home even though I’m worried about the kids!
Remembering how he had been a good partner while Ki Gayoon was treating him like a criminal made him angrier.
"Do you think you’re the only one capable of going on a Rampage here, huh?" Yuno asked, letting go of Ki Gayoon’s annoyingly handsome face. And then he put his hands on his waist, asserting dominance. Well, now that he was angry, Ki Gayoon didn’t look as scary as he did earlier. "I didn’t say anything even if you threatened to break my legs because I wouldn’t give you a reason to do that to me. The thing I’m worried about is your upcoming match with Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi. I’m just trying to tell you to focus on the match because I have a feeling that their side would play dirty, but all you could think of is locking me up here!"
"Because your safety is the most important thing to me, Noh Yuno! You’re my top priority! Why can’t you understand that?"
"Because we’re all going to die if you lose to Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi, you dummy! If you come at Ryu Sungbin in your current state, you’ll lose! How could you fight properly when you’re on the verge of losing your mind?" Yuno didn’t have the courage to punch Ki Gayoon in the face to give him a wake up call, so he just poked his lover’s chest with his finger. "If you die, who’s going to protect me, huh? Have you even think about that? Of course not. All you think about is fighting without caring about my feelings!"
"Noh Yuno—"
"Why are you trying to make me a young widow when we haven’t gotten married yet, huh?" Yuno yelled in a cracked voice. He didn’t want to cry because that was stupid, but he also couldn’t stop his tears from rolling down his face. "And why are you yelling at me? You keep on threatening me when you’re supposed to be consoling me. Hyung, why can’t you assure me that nothing bad will happen to me without scaring me? Don’t you think that the thought of being locked up against my will doesn’t scare me?"
Yuno was used to yapping, but he still said more words than he usually would.
Moreover, he was angry.
Hence, after he was done venting out, he was already out of breath.
But Yuno didn’t break eye contact with Ki Gayoon, and that was how he saw it— he saw different expressions on Ki Gayoon’s face in just a few seconds.
Anger.
Disappointment.
Guilt.
Fear.
And then Ki Gayoon’s face went pale as if he had just realized how awful he was.
At least, Hyung realized his mistake right away.
"I’m sorry, Yuno-ya," Ki Gayoon said in a soft voice full of remorse. And then he carefully gathered Yuno in his arms, burying his face against the crook of his neck. "I’m sorry for raising my voice at you. I’m sorry for threatening you. I’m sorry for scaring you. And I’m sorry for making you cry."
Haaah.
Yuno shouldn’t be satisfied with just an apology.
But Ki Gayoon’s voice cracked, and he felt the warm liquid touch the side of his neck.
"I’m just scared of losing you," Ki Gayoon whispered, his voice sounding vulnerable. "I’ll protect you with my life, of course. But a small yet loud part of me is worried that I might not be enough to keep you safe. That’s why I lost it for a moment. I know it sounds like a lame excuse, so let me just say sorry again."
Haaah.
I almost became a captive.
Thank goodness Ki Gayoon went back to his senses.
"Okay, Hyung. I forgive you," Yuno said while gently rubbing Ki Gayoon’s back. "But if you say something like those awful things again, I’ll disappear on you for real."
"Leave me if you dare, Noh Yuno," Ki Gayoon said. His voice still sounded calm and soft, but Yuno felt the hint of threat in there. "I’ll find you wherever you hide anyway."
Aigoo.
Well, I guess every relationship has a bit of toxicity in them.
