Guide Me If You Dare-Chapter 144: LONG STORY
Chapter 144: LONG STORY
IT WAS the perfect short vacation for Yuno.
To be fair, he wasn’t the type of person who loved to travel for the views or experiencing culture or whatever.
He was the type to just choose a nice hotel and stay there.
That’s my idea of relaxing— lazing around, eating good food.
Fortunately, Ki Gayoon didn’t like going out either.
So, we just had plenty of sex in our penthouse suite with a beautiful view of Haeundae Beach.
Haaah.
Last night, Yuno was pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window while Ki Gayoon was doing him from behind.
Aigoo.
We’ve been fucking like rabbits these past few days.
Yuno didn’t hate it— he was just surprised by how much libido he had.
My stamina is low, but surprisingly, my sex drive is high.
It was probably due to Ki Gayoon’s influence.
That hyung is too horny.
"Hyung, you were really serious about your promise," Yuno said, lazily leaning against Ki Gayoon’s chest. He had no choice since he was sitting between the Esper’s legs while the two of them were dipped in the private indoor pool of their penthouse suite. "You really took my ability to walk for a week."
Well, almost a week, to be precise.
We only have two days left in our precious short vacation.
"When did I ever let you down, punk?"
"Every time you’re acting like a grumpy old man?"
Ki Gayoon let out a sigh while shaking his head. "Are you sure you don’t want to explore Busan before our vacation ends?"
"I think we need to have a long conversation first, Hyung."
"Oh, alright."
"Hyung, you know what will happen if we Imprint, right?" Yuno asked carefully. "Normal Imprinted Guides can still guide other Espers, but their Imprinted Espers couldn’t receive guiding from other Guides anymore."
Again, in the Awakened World, the words ’exclusive’ and ’imprint’ only applied to the Espers and not the Guides.
"Imprinting is just basically an Esper and a Guide marrying each other, so the government allowed it," Yuno continued. "However, as an E-Class Guide, I will lose my ability to guide other Espers once we get Imprinted. If I become useless, the new government might get rid of me just like how the past regime got rid of my fellow E-Class Guides."
"Yes, I know. I asked you to consider Imprinting with me because I plan to take control of the country within three months," Ki Gayoon said, sounding as serious and careful as Yuno. "Just so you know, I didn’t ask you to Imprint with me on the whim, Yuno-ya. I would never do something that would put you in danger."
"I know that, Hyung. And that’s why I’m considering it."
"Thank you."
There was no denying that what Yuno and Ki Gayoon had now, albeit it was only the start of their relationship, wasn’t something that could easily end.
An Esper and a Guide’s bond ran deep.
It’s especially true when the Esper and the Guide have romantic feelings for each other.
"I thought you should hear my story first," Yuno said. He didn’t want to admit this, but he was kind of feeling nervous. "I want Hyung to hear my story first before I share it with Team Leader Bambi."
"You really don’t have to share anything with those bastards, Yuno-ya."
"No, I want to do this. As an E-Class Guide, I want those bastards to get caught. But I’m not a fool, Hyung. I know I said I’ve already shown all my cards. While it’s true, what I showed all of you is just half of what I could actually do as an E-Class Guide. The technique that I shared with my fellow Top 5 Guides is just the basic level."
"That’s a relief to know then," Ki Gayoon said. "I was worried you were oversharing in the name of cooperation."
"I haven’t forgotten that we can’t trust Team Leader Bambi-ssi and Esper Ryu Sungbin-ssi. But I had to act like I lowered my guard to make it look like I’m cooperating with them 100%," Yuno said, only revealing this to Ki Gayoon since the case was already closed. "But I didn’t tell them why the serial killer didn’t just steal Choi Kangmin’s Core after killing him, and why Jacob Hyung-nim had to wait before harvesting the Core."
Yuno didn’t give the complete details because the ’harvesting’ part of his story had always been the most difficult for him to remember.
It’s in the top 5 most traumatizing shit that I’ve gone through.
"Hyung, bear with me," Yuno said, closing his eyes. "This is going to be a long story."

[Ten years ago...]
FIVE YEARS after the apocalypse dubbed the ’Doomsday,’ the fifteen-year-old Noh Yihun awakened as a Guide.
So freaking lame.
The way he awakened was lame, too.
"This is all your fault, Esper Hyung," Yihun whispered while watching the news, stuck on the hospital bed. "Why do you have to go on a Rampage on the day our class visited the Facility for our field trip?"
This was embarrassing, but at fifteen years old, Yihun was only in his first year as a middle schooler.
What could he do?
The world stopped five years ago when Gates started appearing in their world.
But, thanks to the emergence of Espers, South Korea had quickly got back on its feet just four years after the apocalypse.
Early this year, Yihun and children around his age took an exam similar to GED (a test for drop-outs to get a high school diploma). The exam that their batch took allowed them to skip the remaining years of elementary school.
Everyone who passed was now in their first year of middle school.
"I heard there are kids our age who awakened as Espers, though," Yihun said, sighing. "Lucky. They don’t have to attend school since being an Esper is already an established career."
The Korean government established the Esper Association to support Espers.
Then the Esper Association created the Esper Facility (simply known as the ’Facility’)— aka the place where the government was currently nurturing the saviors of the country.
But it seemed like the Facility had created a monster.
"Esper Ki Gayoon Hyung-nim," Yihun whispered the name of the Esper that was being reported on the news, a video of Ki Gayoon destroying the Facility briefly shown. "I wonder what made you go crazy."
Yes, Yihun was talking to himself.
He couldn’t help it since he was alone in that VIP room...
Wait. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
How could his parents afford it when they were broke as hell?
As if on cue, the door to his private hospital room opened.
Yihun knitted his eyebrows.
His young parents (his mother and father had Yihun when the two were only seventeen years old) entered the room dressed in clothes he didn’t recognize.
And they’re even wearing expensive accessories...
"Yihun, our dear son, you’re finally awake."
Hmm?
Yihun raised his eyebrow not because of his mother’s unusually cheerful greeting, but because of the familiar man behind his parents.
Isn’t that Yosef Lee, the Executive Director of the Facility?
He recognized the man because Yosef Lee was always present every time the government would give an excellence awards to the young Espers under his wing.
What is he doing here?
"Son, I’m sure you know who this distinguished gentleman is, right?" his father, acting amicably all of a sudden, asked. "This gentleman here—"
Yosef Lee raised his hand, forcing Yihun’s father to stop talking.
Right.
This man is an Esper.
"Congratulations for awakening as a Guide, Noh Yihun-ssi," Yosef Lee greeted him with a smile. "Welcome to the Lab Family—"
"Ahjussi, how much?" Yihun asked coldly. "How much did you pay my parents?"
And that was the beginning of Noh Yihun’s hell.
