Chapter 807: The Path Of All Immortals (Part 2)

"I definitely wouldn’t go to Artifact Refining Valley anymore. Even if it means letting the Green Lotus Sect gain an advantage, I wouldn’t want to beg Artifact Refining Valley again," the young cultivator realized.

Unsurprisingly, this kind of talk quickly spread to Artifact Refining Valley.

Before the elders even noticed, the disciples were already furious.

"Infuriating! When those people needed us, they didn’t say anything like this!"

"Just kicking us while we’re down."

"We shouldn’t have helped them in the first place. An ungrateful bunch."

Chayan Zeng was also angry.

Since the Double Cavern Secret Realm incident, he’d been holding in his frustration.

It wasn’t easy for Artifact Refining Valley to cultivate a top talent.

Even though they hadn’t invested too much in this genius yet, finding good prospects was difficult.

And to lose one in a seemingly safe secret realm was a huge blow.

Not only that, but even the spiritual vein that was supposed to be theirs had been snatched by a disciple of the Green Lotus Sect.

They even lost a golden small sword in the process.

As the team leader, Chayan Zeng couldn’t escape the Valley Master’s anger.

Now, to make things worse, this new issue had arisen.

When Chayan Zeng arrived at the meeting hall, he saw that nearly every seat was taken.

Many of his fellow sect members, who were rarely seen, had shown up.

Knowing he was still under blame, he quietly took a seat at the very back without saying a word.

A few moments later, another elder arrived, bringing more bad news.

"Daoist Wenzi has canceled his order for a custom-made artifact from us."

Doist Wenzi was a powerful wild cultivator with no sect or allegiance, but he had a good reputation among the wild cultivators of Mystic Void Continent.

Although Artifact Refining Valley never went out of their way to please him, they had never had any conflicts with him either.

When the news about the Green Lotus Sect’s divine artifact broke, the people of Artifact Refining Valley considered many possibilities, but they never imagined that the first person to cancel an order would be Doist Wenzi.

"Doist Wenzi must have been influenced by the Green Lotus Sect!" Weili Dai who is sitting next to the Valley Master exclaimed angrily.

"This news just came out. Could it really have reached Doist Wenzi so quickly?" someone across the room said.

Weili Dai frowned and looked at the speaker, "Elder Hao, what are you suggesting? Are you trying to defend Doist Wenzi or Green Lotus Sect?"

Elder Hao calmly replied, "Weili Dai, you’re reading too much into this. I would never defend either of them. I’m simply stating the facts. Something about this situation seems strange. Of all the people that the Green Lotus Sect could have influenced, why Doist Wenzi? Wouldn’t it have made more sense for them to approach Lanhee Bay?"

Lanhee Bay was a rising star, known for his high cultivation level and strength.

However, due to his youth and arrogance, his relationship with Artifact Refining Valley wasn’t as good as it appeared.

If the Green Lotus Sect had convinced him to oppose Artifact Refining Valley, the effect might have been just as disruptive.

"Besides, we just received the news and were about to discuss it when Doist Wenzi’s message arrived. Don’t you think that’s a bit too fast? Is it possible that Artifact Refining Valley is slower at getting information than Doist Wenzi?"

"The matter of Doist Wenzi should be looked into carefully. Since Elder Hao brought it up, I’ll leave it to him to investigate," the Valley Master said, ending the debate.

Weili Dai had no choice but to stay silent.

The Valley Master looked around the room, "I’ve gathered everyone here today to discuss about the divine artifact that was born at the Green Lotus Sect. Please share your thoughts."

"It’s no wonder the Green Lotus Sect never commissioned us for artifacts. They’ve been hiding their abilities all these years. Are they trying to challenge Artifact Refining Valley and start a rivalry?" Weili Dai, a staunch supporter of the Valley Master, exclaimed.

"Elder Dai, don’t be so harsh. We don’t even know the full situation yet. The Mystic Void Continent has countless Artificers, and not all of them are in Artifact Refining Valley," Elder Hao responded, unable to hold back.

As soon as he spoke, another elder nudged him, signaling him to stop.

It was clear that Weili Dai was speaking on behalf of the Valley Master, and opposing him would be like opposing the Valley Master himself.

Without the Valley Master speaking, Weili Dai immediately darkened his expression, "Elder Hao, you’ve defended the Green Lotus Sect repeatedly. Could it be that you’re a spy they sent to infiltrate Artifact Refining Valley?"

"Watch your words, Elder Dai," a wise old man at the head of the table finally spoke, his eyes gleaming with intelligence, "Our ancestors in Artifact Refining Valley always believed in embracing diversity. The art of refining artifacts has no borders. Elder Hao is simply upholding the long-standing principles of our valley."

Weili Dai glanced at the Valley Master, and seeing no response, reluctantly said, "I was out of line. Please forgive me, Fourth Elder."

Like the Green Lotus Sect, Artifact Refining Valley had elders ranked by numbers, and their status was highly respected, even by the Valley Master.

"The emergence of Green Lotus Sect’s divine artifact may seem impactful for Artifact Refining Valley, but in reality, it’s not that significant. It just means that there’s one more divine artifact Artificer in Mystic Void Continent. There’s nothing worth discussing here. Continue as you always have," the Fourth Elder said calmly before standing up and gracefully leaving the hall.

Though the others didn’t leave, with the Fourth Elder’s stance clear, Weili Dai and the others couldn’t openly contradict him in front of everyone.

All eyes turned to the Valley Master, who remained composed.

"Since the Fourth Elder believes it won’t have an impact, let’s adjourn. We’ll discuss other matters when necessary."
