First Immortal of the Sword-Chapter 2094 - A Celestial Eye
Chapter 2094 - A Celestial Eye
Su Yi walked alone through the boundless starry void.
The gods followed from not far behind him.
“Seems to me that we can pretend to accept Su Yi’s terms and work with him for now,” Wen Xiao suddenly transmitted to the others.
Many of them frowned in displeasure. Buddhist Venerate Ghama was the first to object.
“You want to cooperate with him? How could you even suggest such a thing? We’re like fire and water. How could we possibly join forces? Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten the humiliation we suffered in the City of the Beginning? Or how he took the divine children hostage? Or how he just used us to kill members of the ancient Qin Family?”
This line of questioning left Wen Xiao’s expression a bit unsightly.
“Please, calm down,” Ren Beiyou said calmly. “Wen Xiao said we’d feign compliance, and I’m sure he wouldn’t suggest something like this without a good reason. Let’s at least hear him out.”
Several other gods chimed in their agreement.
Wen Xiao then laid his reasoning out in the open.
“In the City of the Beginning, Su Yi used the Staff of Divine Punishment, Drum of Injustice, and Mirror of Acuity toward his own ends, publicly executing Qin Wenxiao. Then, in the Deification Star Sea, he’s effortlessly acquired the good fortune, Godhead included, of every hidden realm he’s visited, without once encountering the slightest obstacle. Why is that? I trust that all of you have guessed why. It’s all because of his power of reincarnation and the Epoch Spark!”
When he said this, many of the gods’ eyes flashed, and they started pondering this seriously.
Wen Xiao continued, “We’ve already ruined our alliance with the Qin Family. I don’t even need to think to know that once we’ve crossed the Deification Star Sea and arrived in the Ancient God Domain, they’re sure to seek revenge against us! Given the circumstances, wouldn’t temporarily choosing to work with Su Yi be to our advantage?”
The gods sank into silence.
Buddhist Venerate Ghama frowned and retorted coldly, “All you can see are the advantages. You’re completely blind to the disadvantages! Never mind the rest. Would you believe me if I said that the moment we agree to work with Su Yi, we’ll become the common foe of every faction in the Path of the Ancient Gods?”
Many of the others’ expressions shifted. He was right. Su Yi controlled both the Epoch Spark and the power of reincarnation. Numerous terrifying factions of the Path of the Ancient Gods were targeting him.
If they worked with him, or even just pretended to, those terrifying factions were sure to take them for Su Yi’s allies. If they let themselves get swept into Su Yi’s mess, the consequences would be dire!
For a while, the gods were racked by indecision.
“There’s something else we could do,” Ren Beiyou said suddenly. “We attacked the Qin Family under duress. Why not make contact with them in secret and explain the situation to regain their trust? Then, we can continue ‘working with’ Su Yi and stick by his side. All we need is the barest hint of an opportunity to strike. We can coordinate with the Qin Family from the inside and work with them to capture Su Yi!”
Many of the gods’ eyes lit up. That would be best!
Not even Buddhist Venerate Ghama objected. His silence was obviously tacit agreement to Ren Beiyou’s proposal.
“Yes, let’s do it like that!”
The group quickly reached an agreement. Wen Xiao then went up to tell Su Yi that they’d agreed to work with him.
Su Yi smiled. “A wise choice.”
Inwardly, Wen Xiao laughed. Outwardly, he maintained a neutral expression. “The precondition for our cooperation is that you must release the divine children before leaving the Deification Star Sea!”
Su Yi nodded. “I naturally won’t go back on my word, but I have a condition too.”
Wen Xiao frowned. “Say it.”
“On the road ahead, no matter the danger we encounter, you must not remain bystanders.”
Wen Xiao snorted coldly. “Rest assured.”
Su Yi smiled. “Want to hear a word of advice?”
“Go right ahead.”
Su Yi looked at him, his gaze rife with meaning. “You’d best treasure this opportunity. Whatever you do, don’t let it go to waste.”
Wen Xiao was briefly stunned, but then, he snorted coldly. “Let me give you some advice, too. Don’t think that cooperating means you can order us about as you please!”
Su Yi smiled. “Actions speak louder than words. Let’s just keep our eyes open and wait.”
......
Three days later.
Su Yi had taken out a first-level Godhead. He was currently seated cross-legged on the ground, meditating inside a hidden realm.
Boom!
A blast rang out in the distance, shaking heaven and earth. A rift tore open in the sky.
A streak of golden light shot through the sky, right toward Su Yi, then stopped not far away from him.
When it stopped moving, the blur of light turned out to be a ten-foot-tall monkey.
The monkey’s eyes were golden, and its fur was soft and sleek. Chaos luster drifted around it, and it had a natural chaos Dao Marking on its forehead.
It was big-boned and brawny, with a ferocious aura. As the chaos light flowed around it, it sprouted four additional arms and two additional heads. They still looked illusory, yet as the monkey stood there, its three heads and six arms lent it an additional ferocity.
This was the little monkey, a god born of the Immortal Realm’s chaos source! It was starkly different from before; the disparity was simply shocking. It was now utterly ferocious and not one whit weaker than a Limit Realm Mid-Rank God!
But when it reached Su Yi, it instantly suppressed its ferocious aura and crouched on a nearby boulder. It took out a handful of soul crystals, then started chewing them like candy. These were trophies it has acquired in this hidden realm, manifestations of the soul of a fallen god imbued with traces of divinity.
After swallowing the last of the crystals, the monkey took out a bundle of divine herbs and started munching.
It was a cow eating peonies, mindlessly gobbling up treasures.
Su Yi had explored numerous hidden realms as of late. He was responsible for acquiring Godheads, while the little monkey was responsible for tempering itself and gathering the hidden realms’ various treasures.
In the end, man and monkey split the goods fifty-fifty.
Before long, the monkey burped in satisfaction and patted its distended stomach. A rain of chaos fell around it, and its blood and qi rumbled like a furnace. It was obviously undergoing some sort of transformation again.
Su Yi was meditating not far away. When he took in the little monkey’s transformation, he couldn’t help but feel a bit rueful.
This was what made natural divinities so powerful. They were divine from the moment of their birth. All they needed to do was consume treasures imbued with divinity to continuously evolve and awaken their innate talents!
If everything goes as I expect, the monkey needs to undergo a qualitative transformation. Then, it will be able to manifest a true Three Heads, Six Arms Dharma Body and awaken its innate divine abilities. It'll be able to contend with even Greater Gods then!
Su Yi had Li Fuyou’s memories and extensive experience, so he grasped the little monkey’s abilities at a glance.
A moment later, Su Yi shook his head and gave the monkey no further thought. He opened his palm, and...
Whoosh!
The Epoch Spark floated into the air.
Heaven and earth swayed. The entire hidden realm shook violently, and the power of the natural order surged forth, like a windstorm gathering above Su Yi’s head.
The Epoch Spark flickered above Su Yi’s palm, producing an invisible power that continuously drew on the Laws of the natural order.
Su Yi had a sudden revelation. So long as he willed it, he could use the Epoch Spark’s power to shatter this hidden realm and remove it from creation completely!
Because the Epoch Spark could control the Laws of the hidden realm!
This was a change that had only recently arisen in the Epoch Spark.
Over the past month, it had refined more than ten first-level Godheads, as well as a true supreme Godhead. The Godheads served as fertilizer, producing obvious changes in the Epoch Spark.
Its aura was even more dense and inscrutable. It looked like a little bundle, yet it seemed immeasurably heavy and boundlessly vast.
Like he held chaos in the palm of his hand!
That aside, Su Yi could use the Epoch Spark to clearly sense that both the hidden realm and the Deification Star Sea as a whole were covered in a mysterious, taboo power of the Laws of the Grand Dao.
He could tell at a glance the size and strength of a hidden realm, as well as the strength of its Laws. He could also sense the entirety of the Deification Star Sea, and everything along this path of trials.
It was unbelievable, as if he’d gained some kind of celestial eye. He could see everything that happened within the Deification Star Sea. This was one of the Epoch Spark's new, wondrous applications!
If the Epoch Spark keeps refining Godheads and absorbing the Path of the Ancient Gods’ power of the Laws, will I one day be able to control the natural order of the Path of the Ancient Gods at will?
When this occurred to Su Yi, his heart shook. Could this be the true function of the Epoch Spark? Maybe it's more than just the Key to the Path of the Ancient Gods! It has the potential to control the Path of the Ancient Gods in its entirety!
If that’s true, my first incarnation didn’t just leave me this Taboo Treasure to help me become a god!
......
The gods were waiting for Su Yi outside.
“Hm? Daoist Brother Ren is back,” someone whispered.
The crowd’s spirits soared. They looked over, and indeed, Ren Beiyou was headed their way.
“How’d it go?” Bo Yun walked up to greet him.
Two days prior, not long after Su Yi entered the hidden realm, Ren Beiyou set off on his own.
“There were a few hiccups, but overall, it went smoothly,” Ren Beiyou said with a smile. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
He and the others then began a secret conversation. Before long, the crowd lit up with delight, and much of the frustration they’d accumulated over the past few months dissipated.
“No matter how this ends, we’ve got to make sure to save the divine children before we leave the Deification Star Sea,” Buddhist Venerate Ghama said solemnly.
The crowd nodded. That was what they were most concerned about too.
Meanwhile, Su Yi emerged from the hidden realm.
“What are you talking about? It seems you’re in a good mood,” Su Yi said thoughtfully.
The gods instantly stopped their conversation, their gazes suddenly cold. They weren’t willing to pay Su Yi any heed.
There was nothing for it; the mere sight of him was aggravating, as unpleasant as swallowing a dead fly.
