Chapter 301: Chapter 300: You scared the hell out of me!

"Shentu Chu, how are you doing?" A magnetic low male voice said.

"Ahhh! God, second brother! What are you doing here? You scared the hell out of me!" Shentu Chu clutched his chest dramatically.

Seated on his desk was no one other than Shentu Jing. Shentu Jing had made himself comfortable on the desk, one leg crossed over the other. He was wearing a dark long overcoat, the silver mask dangling between his slender fingers.

The table had paperwork and documents neatly stacked on one side. It looked like an office. The brown wooden floor creaked slightly as Shentu Chu approached him.

"What do you think? Elder brother, your new house looks beautiful," Shentu Jing replied and smiled, a dark and dangerous smile.

Shentu Chu recovery from his shock and smiled back. He walked around the table to the leather chair to make himself comfortable. Shentu Jing turned around to face him.

"The files, you’re looking for them, right?" Shentu Chu leaned closer over the table towards Shentu Jing.

Shentu Jing didn’t reply but his lips curved slightly into a faint smile.

"You don’t have to look for it. I’ve burnt it already. All evidence’s gone," Shentu Chu casually said as if they weren’t talking about a sensitive topic. Then he straightened up and sat back down in the leather chair.

"I’m not here for that. Shentu Chu, give me a reason why do you want that statue too," Shentu Jing had been wondering what were Shentu Chu’s plans. Why did he have to snatch that statue too? Was it related to his little Pearl?

There are two of that statues and they both belonged to the Qin family. Shentu Jing had one now, and Shentu Chu had another one in his hands. Both were unwilling to let the other party see or touch it.

Although Shentu Jing had no idea what the statue was for, he knew that it was something important. Liu Mo was probably killed for this statue. The bracelet that Liu Mo always wear was missing when they found his body. Someone must have taken the bracelet the night he was killed and assumed as a natural death caused by illness.

Liu Mo’s bracelet had a symbol of the statue which was what led him to the old Qin mansion in the first place. Was Shentu Chu investigating the same thing too? But why?

What does the ’thing’ that Shentu Chu wants has to do with the Qin family? Until now, he felt like he couldn’t figure out this elder brother of his motives. In the beginning, he thought that Shentu Chu craved power and money, status and a reputation. But now, Shentu Chu himself ruined his own reputation, did things which will jeopardize his position in the Shentu Group and yet he didn’t cared.

"I just want to take away things from you, second brother. I enjoy the thrill of watching you sink in fear and anxiety when I snatched your favourite things," At some point, Shentu Chu looked like a maniac. There was something about his eyes that Shentu Jing couldn’t quite put it.

"So What are you going to do? Take back the CEO position? Don’t forget that you are a dead man, Shentu Jing, a person who shouldn’t appear at all," Shentu Chu sounded serious.

"You seemed to enjoy me staying dead," he remarked with a chuckle. The two men seemed to be playing a game of cat and mice.

"Why not? The limelight will be mine, including the wealth and power,"

"If you really wanted that, you wouldn’t have spreaded those rumours about yourself. Shentu Ling and the other board members are waiting to kick you out. No matter how much bribe or threats you give them, they will still go against you. Human nature is twisted," Shentu Jing said casually. He picked up a ball point pen and twirled it between his fingers.

"Giving them a chance, a weak point exposed, isn’t that like breaking a hole at the bottom of your ship? Slowly, bit by bit, water will start to collect in that ship, sinking would be unavoidable," Shentu Jing said.

Shentu Chu didn’t say a think but gave a fake smile.

Then he said, "You have the other statue, I have the other half. Sooner or later, I’ll find a way to snatch it from you,"

"What does the Qin family got to do with you? You seemed.... Interested in them,"

"Which Qin family?" Shentu Chu asked.

"The Qin family, the same Qin family that Qin Zhuzhu is part of. How can you say I have nothing to do with it? You should know my feelings towards Qin Zhuzhu," Shentu Jing said.

"Of course I know. But what I want to know is whether you really love her or are you just using her as your medicine?"

Shentu Jing’s eyes darkened upon hearing that, his face turning frosty immediately.

"What? Did I say your darkest thoughts, Shentu Jing? Don’t tell me you have really fallen for her. No wonder she’s your weakness," Shentu Chu sneered.

Shentu Jing grabbed Shentu Chu by the collar and pulled him

"Why? What are you going to do to me? Kill me? Kidnap me?" Shentu Chu laughed mockingly. "Or torture me? Which one? Choose,"

"I don’t have to choose. From the day you took of in a helicopter, you have already chosen the path that will separate us. From the day you started to work behind my back, you have already broke the deal between us," Shentu Jing’s voice was low and sounded like it was filled with traps.

Shentu Chu only laughed as if everything was a joke.

"You want to know my motives but can’t figure it out, right? Is that why you are here? I’ll tell you, Shentu Jing, I won’t tell you. I will never let you know,"

"Why?"

"Because you cannot afford it,"

Both men stared at each other, hatred burning behind their eyes.

Suddenly there was a loud noise and someone barged into the room. Shentu Chu and Shentu Jing turned their heads to look at the newcomer.
