Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 230 - 229: Hide from grandpa
Chapter 230: Chapter 229: Hide from grandpa
A hospital bed cut through old master Shentu and Shentu Jing, separating them for a second. When the bed was rolled away, there was no one in that spot.
Old master Shentu stared at the spot where he thought he saw Shentu Jing. Looking left and right frantically, he wanted to run to the entrance and see if his grandson was there.
But Shentu Dong and Shentu Mingye run up beside him, panting as if they had ran a marathon.
"Father, did you see what I saw?" Shentu Mingye asked.
"I’m not sure if I’m old and seeing things. Maybe it’s because I missed him too much," Shentu Dong shook his head.
"Grandpa..."
"I saw him too," old master Shentu said softly.
Were they going mad from missing him too much or was it real?
"Let’s go back to the doctor," Shentu Dong led him away..
"Wait," old master Shentu finally remembered he saw another familiar face. Very quickly, the old man strode after the attendants who were pushing Shentu Chu. Shentu Mingye and Shentu Dong exchanged looks and followed after him.
Sure enough, they were surprised to see Shentu Chu lying unconsciously on the bed, bleeding.
There was a strange girl crying by his side.
"Miss, are you a family member? You have to register for the patient," the nurse said.
"I am, yes," Qiao Nian followed the nurse to the counter.
Many hours later, the doctor came out and gave Qiao Nian a report.
"Severe brain concussion and internal bleeding. May I know how he got hurt?"
Qiao Nian took the report, trembling with tears streaming down her cheeks.
"H...he was attacked. Doctor, will he be okay?" She clutched the report tightly, face filled with worry.
"We’ll do our best. But with such a strong hit to the head, we can’t say for sure if his memory or cognitive level will be affected. We’ll have to wait until he wakes up," the doctor nodded and left.
Qiao Nian started to cry again. How did this happened? She felt like her whole world was crumbling down.
Shentu Mingye walked into the waiting room and snatched the report from her hands.
"Hey!" Qiao Nian cried and tried to snatch it back.
But Shentu Mingye swung his arm the other side, completely out of her reach. Then he flipped through the report.
"Give that back! Who are you?" She leaned and tried to reach for it but in vain.
"Severe brain concussion?!" Shentu Mingye was surprised. "Father, look at this!"
Shentu Dong and old master Shentu took the report and read it, their face changing abruptly.
"Who are you people?! Give that back," Qiao Nian wondered why her luck so rotten. Even in the hospital she would get bullied.
Old Master Shentu’s eyes narrowed on the girl, asking in a strict voice, "How did this happened?"
"Who are you to him?" Shentu Mingye scanned the girl, the look in his eyes were unwelcoming.
"I should be asking you that," Qiao Nian finally snatched back the report and tucked it behind her.
"We are his family. I’m Shentu Mingye,"
"Family?"
"Yes, let us know when he’s awake," Shentu Mingye gave his number to her and walked away with his grandfather and father.
He was highly suspicious of Shentu Chu. What exactly happened? Why did the three of them saw someone who looked like Shentu Jing? It can’t be a coincidence that three pair of eyes happen to witness the same thing, right?
When Shentu Chu opened his eyes again, he felt the back of his neck hurts like hell. The ceiling was plain white and so was the walls. He found his head wrapped up in bandages.
Groaning, he pushed himself up in a sitting position.
Outside, three people had been discussing for three hours.
"Shentu Chu is the CEO. What will happen if the CEO suddenly was assassinated and couldn’t come to work? The company will be in another chaos like last time!"
"The news and media are the scariest!"
"What should we do, unless Shentu Chu could clarify and make an announcement that he as had flew overseas for a business trip,"
"But who would believe that?" Shentu Dong sighed..
He rubbed his eyes, clearing his vision. Then he gazed at his hands and legs.
The nurse came out holding some papers. "Miss Qiao, the patient’s awake,"
"Thanks," Qiao Nian rushed in to see Shentu Chu. She sat by the side and took Shentu Chu’s hands.
"Shentu Chu, are you okay?" The girl reached out and touched his cheeks.
"I’m okay," he replied, feeling relief to see her again. "You’re not angry with me?" He took advantage of the situation to use pitifullness to make her forgive him.
"I’m not. Are you really okay? The doctor said that you have severe brain concussion,"
Shentu Chu leaned his face against her palm, holding her hand in his hand tenderly. He was like a wounded kitten seeking comfort from her.
"Is he okay?"
"Him?" Qiao Nian looked around. "He left without saying a word,"
Shentu Chu nodded. Something must have came up so Shentu Jing left.
"Nian Nian, how long have I slept?"
"Almost a day," Qiao Nian replied. Her eyes were puffy and moist, her cheeks stained with tears.
Shentu Chu reached out and wiped the tears away. "Don’t cry,"
"Then promise me you won’t get hurt again,"
"I can’t promise that," Shentu Chu looked away from her.
"Why? Is that thing more important than your own life?" Qiao Nian inquired.
"As long as they are okay, and he’s okay, it’s all worth it," Shentu Chu had a faraway look. Qiao Nian was worried. Qiao Nian knew that it was impossible to dissuade him.
"Oh, earlier a man named Shentu Mingye came and saw the report. He wanted me to contact him when you wake up," Qiao Nian suddenly remembered.
"Shentu Mingye?" Shentu Chu stared at an empty space in the wall, lost in thoughts. So it was more likely that Shentu Mingye already knew it.
From the small square window in the door, Old Master Shentu watched them. When he heard those words, his pupils had an unspeakable emotions in them.
