Redstone is the name of the ancient Titan that wanted to proceed with this risky endeavor.

He's one of the older participants of the Ancient Chaos Alpha project, and he was in the first batch. What made him different is that he was already at the peak of the Transitional Realm when he came in. He originally had a chance to try for the Cosmic Level, but that chance has long since passed him by, like, four to five hundred years ago.

This makes him one of the desperate ones for progress. All he ever dreamed of was reaching the Cosmic Level because at that state, his life would be extended even further. He wanted to live for a very long time—not to the point of immortality since he already knew that that's impossible, just long enough for him to see and experience everything. If he could leave behind a legacy, well, that's even better.

Redstone was one of the later transitioners to the Ancient Chaos Path. He wasn't the last one in his batch to transition, but he's late, nevertheless. That's fine though since he still had a considerable length of lifespan remaining; a few years of delay doesn't matter too much to him.

After making it through, though, he immediately reached the peak of this unfamiliar path and found himself trapped again.

From the 9th Stage of the Transitional Realm, his cultivation transformed to the 9th Stage of the Void Refinement Realm, which was the current peak of the Ancient Chaos Path.

Restone was informed that this was an exploratory path. The pioneer of this path in this era hasn't even reached the stage he has. But in terms of familiarity with this path, not even Redstone could compare to him.

However, this also presents a dilemma. It suggests that everybody has to wait until the director figures out a way or breaks through the current ceiling himself.

Who knows how long that's going to take?

But see, Director Dawnbringer's progress isn't so much of a secret to them. They all know that he's already at the 6th Stage of Void Refinement. He's progressing quickly on this path, so it shouldn't take him too long.

And originally, it wasn't a problem for Redstone to wait for a few more years. Especially after he discovered that his lifespan extended even longer after transitioning.

Unfortunately, it seems that it wasn't meant to be. Because something's urging him from within to make progress as soon as he can, or else his inner world will explode, and he will die without an intact corpse.

Redstone initially thought that this was just his nerves playing with his feelings. Or at the very least, someone's playing a prank on him. But the longer he sat idle and the more resolute he was to discover what exactly was causing this, the clearer and more certain the feeling got.

Now, he's indebted to the Director as much as the other participants, and he really didn't want to bother him with this, but Redstone didn't want to die by exploding. He's too young for that. So, he could only raise the issue to Cedric and hope that he could help somehow.

He wasn't expecting an immediate solution. He was informed that the director was on a short leave, and that wasn't a problem. Redstone could still suppress this for three years, which was a very generous estimation. However, if the Director hasn't returned by then, Redstone could only apologize and succumb to his instincts.

A surprise came to him when, upon this day, he received an invitation from the director himself, calling him for an interview. Restone was shocked and felt guilty, thinking that the director had to cut his vacation short because of him. Still, he went to the venue; he wouldn't dare waste the director's grace, after all.

Redstone arrived at Cedric's office, only to see him rearranging the piles of documents on his table. Upon noticing his presence, the director smiled at him and said:

"Oh, there you are. Come in and take a seat; I'll be with you shortly."

"Thank you, Director. And I'm sorry for the trouble," Redstone guiltily replied.

"Your apology is appreciated, but not necessary. I'm the director of this project; therefore, it is my responsibility to look after you all." Cedric casually stated, "Besides, this was just the thing I needed to get back into the rhythm of things here after my leave, so it's no trouble at all. If anything, you're actually helping me too."

Redstone smiled but didn't say anything in reply. He still felt guilty inside, but he no longer voiced it out in fear of upsetting the director, so he just decided to let things play out since he's already here.

After putting away the last stack of documents on his table, Cedric's eyes landed on him. He crossed his fingers on the table, leaned forward, and watched him with laser focus and interest.

Then he said, "I've read through your most recent entries and saw your request. However, I'd still like to hear it from you personally. Tell me how it all began; try to be as detailed as you possibly can because that might help me help you even more."

Redstone could feel that the Director wasn't looking at him; he was actually 'seeing' through him. It's as if his uniform and his rocky exterior couldn't prevent him from seeing what's happening within him, especially his Inner World.

Swallowing down his nervousness, Redstone began telling Cedric everything from the start, not minding the way he felt thoroughly seen under his gaze.

His feelings weren't wrong. Cedric was indeed not only listening to him; he was also inspecting him thoroughly. Redstone had nothing on him that could stop Cedric's eyes from seeing what he wanted to see, and since he's asking for his help, then this much was understandable.

As Redstone recounted his experiences, Cedric was confirming his words.

He could see that Redstone's Inner World was completely full. It even shows signs of congestion. It's like it's trying to move but can't, and that's causing great discomfort to the poor titan.

Furthermore, there was a unique phenomenon happening within Redstone's Inner World. It was faint, almost untraceable, but under Cedric's all-powerful eyes, it couldn't escape.

It was pulsing between real and unreal. It's as if it's trying to manifest into reality but couldn't because of the bottleneck.

Furthermore, there's also the unique trait of the Ancient Titan's Chaos Path, making this even more complicated.

Similar to how the Primal Beast Race condenses a Beast Totem in their Inner World during the transition to the Ancient Chaos Path, allowing them to experience Atavism in this manner, Ancient Titans too have their unique trait.

And it has something to do with their sizes...

As the most widely known largest creatures in the entire realm, the size of Ancient Titans was both their blessing and their curse. Big isn't always better because although they could 'technically' adjust their size, it costs them control.

It is not rare for an Ancient Titan to break things just by existing even though they're doing their best not to. Controlling their immense strength has always been a problem for their race, and they have to be in a constant state of awareness whenever they're moving, or else they cause mass destruction anywhere they go.

That's why it's pretty common for them to move very slowly. It's not that they can't move fast; it's because they're being cautious.

However, this problem pretty much disappears after one transitions into the Ancient Chaos Path. Chaos Energy not only smoothens out this flaw, but it also alleviates them from the stress of being in control 24/7. And this was because of the Titan Core that appears in Inner World during their transition.

The Titan Core serves as their 'regulator,' per se. It's like a control panel where they could subconsciously adjust their strength levels. Having this greatly alleviated their stress at being in constant control of their strength in fear of destroying everything around them.

If the Titan Core were to manifest in reality, it would be as big as Prime Earth itself. And with Redstone's Inner World pulsing between states of reality very faintly, it is currently unknown what could possibly happen.

"...and that brings me here, sir." Redstone concluded his story. "On a very generous estimate, I may be able to endure this for three more years. I...I don't know where to go from here. I'm afraid I don't have much time left."

Redstone got nervous seeing Cedric wasn't speaking but only looking at him solemnly. He began thinking negatively, and it seems that Cedric noticed this.

"Don't look so gloomy. It's not the end of the world yet." Cedric rolled his eyes at him. "I'm sure you've noticed it already, but just so you know, I've been observing your Inner World. And I've noticed some things that even you didn't notice. I have some ideas, but they still need confirmation."

"Thank you for bringing this up to my attention. I won't promise much, just that I'll do my best to figure out a way for you to get out of this crisis. But I'm going to need some time to think."

"For now, you may return. I'll contact you when I need you."
