Divine Beast Creator-Chapter 1038 - 1039: The Little Beast
Chapter 1038: Chapter 1039: The Little Beast
"Hmm? It’s quite daring, but that makes sense. If it weren’t so, it wouldn’t always be provoking Emperor Savidi."
Gitalien seemed to have seen something amusing and revealed a sinister smile. With a raise of his hand, a small black beast abruptly appeared in his palm, struggling frantically as if frightened, trying to escape. However, no matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t break free from Gitalien’s grip.
"Anernia? Why are you bullying it?"
Feng Yuan looked at Gitalien curiously and asked. At that moment, Agunas turned to Feng Yuan and said,
"No way, Emperor Savidi is tracking a group of Hunters. Unless it’s something very important, I can’t be bothered."
"Then letting it help wouldn’t be out of the question. After all, it can’t cause much trouble here."
Glancing at the black beast struggling in Gitalien’s hand, Feng Yuan said in a ’just right’ manner. Although Anernia was usually mischievous and even frequently caused severe nightmare incidents, not to mention that he was watching, Gitalien and the others were there too. That guy couldn’t even beat Emperor Savidi; how could it stand a chance against so many Divine Beasts?
Veronia floated in front of Anernia and poked the little black beast, saying,
"The touch is quite nice. Have you considered taking it back for use as a pillow?"
Hearing Veronia’s words, the little black beast struggled frantically and looked pitifully at Feng Yuan. With a helpless smile, Feng Yuan said,
"Let’s not. No matter what, it is a Divine Beast. We shouldn’t go too far."
Saying this, Feng Yuan reached out and took Anernia from Gitalien’s grasp. However, maybe because the impression he left on Anernia initially was too deep, the moment it landed in Feng Yuan’s hands, Anernia stiffened and didn’t dare to move.
Gently stroking Anernia’s soft fur, Feng Yuan smiled slightly and said,
"The touch is indeed very nice – especially when it stays still, even more suitable for use as a pillow."
Startled, Anernia struggled vigorously but, unlike with Gitalien, its struggles had no effect in Feng Yuan’s hands. It was as if it were a powerless little leopard. After a moment, Anernia slumped and started sobbing softly. Setting Anernia down, Feng Yuan scratched his head and said,
"Scared already?"
"You’re not considering what you did to it before."
Gitalien glanced at Feng Yuan and said irritably, smiling he-heh without a reply, grabbing Anernia by the scruff as it tried to slip away, Feng Yuan said,
"Since you’re here, why not help out a little? Don’t even think about running away. Do you think we wouldn’t be able to find you?"
During this conversation, Long Boduo walked over and looked at Anernia, saying,
"This little troublemaker has decent hiding skills. I can’t find it."
"For me, it’s not a big deal, but for him?"
Gitalien said, looking at Feng Yuan with a weird smile without explaining. After all, Anernia was a Ghost Series Divine Beast. Even if its power was related to authority and nightmares, to him, it was still something seriously restrained. If it wanted to escape, that guy could find it at any time.
Trembling, Anernia plopped down on the spot and whispered softly,
"What are you going to do..."
Seeing Feng Yuan look his way, Guo Huai said,
"There seems to be something strange rampaging in the Dream Domain, and I was hoping to get a Divine Beast’s help. After all, it was also a reminder."
"A Divine Beast?"
Feng Yuan was surprised to hear this. As for whether Guo Huai was just making it up, he didn’t need to doubt that. If it weren’t for the system prompt, Feng Yuan probably wouldn’t think of seeking help from a Divine Beast. After all, to those Divine Beasts, he was just an interesting fellow, nothing more. Unlike himself, Feng Yuan had a more equal relationship with those Divine Beasts. Although he was stronger than they were, they wouldn’t regard him any higher because of it.
"Yes, although I just had Pu Pu take me into the Dream Domain, I didn’t find anything special. Still, I can’t help but be concerned,"
Guo Huai said, looking troubled. There was nothing he could do; if it weren’t for the system’s prompt, he wouldn’t even need to think about asking for help. Seeking help from a Divine Beast was not something they would necessarily entertain. Really, who did he think he was? Feng Yuan? The situation with that guy was always murky, but recalling his exploits in the Federation, even if they were embellished by later generations, one could see his methods and strength were formidable. In his dealings with those Divine Beasts, it was probably a completely equal exchange.
Qi Chen glanced at Guo Huai, and Anernia suddenly flicked her tail and said,
"I’ll go help him! You guys continue to help that little devil look for the Spirit Beast."
"How do you know what we were doing before?"
Feng Yuan looked at Anernia suspiciously. The creature quickly covered its mouth with its small paws, glancing at Feng Yuan with a shocked face while slowly moving away. Seeing this, Qi Chen walked up somewhat helplessly and patted Feng Yuan’s shoulder,
"Don’t keep scaring it, it’ll be troublesome if it gets angry."
"Pfft, sneaking around behind us eavesdropping, it’s definitely up to no good, this guy needs a lesson, or it’ll be trouble. I can’t believe you don’t know Anernia’s infamous name."
"The Envoy of Nightmare?"
Liao Yu stealthily peered at Anernia and murmured softly. The creature was notorious among humans for frequently playing malicious pranks.
Qi Chen was taken aback. He was well aware of Anernia’s exploits; indeed, it was precisely because of her mischievous nature that her reputation was widely known among humans. Guo Huai addressed Anernia,
"Please help out, I can’t be sure what dangers might lurk within the Dream Domain."
Anernia’s face revealed a strange smile, about to say something when she suddenly remembered something and looked at Feng Yuan, who stared back at her for a moment and then said,
"What do you think?"
"Got it! Isn’t it just to protect him? Let’s go, the sooner you finish your business, the sooner I’m free."
Swishing her tail, Anernia said discontentedly and glanced at Guo Huai, grumbling,
"Are you not going yet? If it weren’t for that thing being so tempting, I wouldn’t have walked into a trap myself."
Muttering complaints, Anernia opened the gate leading to the Dream Domain. Unlike other Spirit Beasts, Anernia and a few other special Divine Beasts, such as Emperor Savidi, related to the Dream Domain, could freely open portals to the Dream Domain of any size in the real world.
"How odd, what really brought Anernia here?"
Feng Yuan spoke, a bit perplexed. He hardly believed Anernia came looking for trouble, but what thing had lured Anernia here? Could it be that the Hunters were up to something again?
"I don’t know, but it’s probably nothing good. What kind of good stuff could attract that creature?"
Gitalien scanned the direction where Anernia and Guo Huai had disappeared and said irritably. With Anernia’s personality, whatever attracted her was likely some nasty joke. Feng Yuan laughed awkwardly and said,
"Probably not, right? We are all here; could there be something strange nearby that you guys haven’t noticed?"
Eying Feng Yuan suspiciously, Gitalien frowned and asked,
"Did you discover something?"
"Nothing."
"Then why do you say that? You..."
"I don’t want to be constantly vigilant of my surroundings, that’s too tiring~"
Feng Yuan whistled nonchalantly, hands behind his head. After watching him for a while, Gitalien shook his head. Perhaps what Feng Yuan said was true; after all, the guy liked to be lazy. It wasn’t impossible for him to stop paying attention to the surroundings with so many Divine Beasts present.
"Do you think there could be real danger?"
Qi Chen asked Feng Yuan worriedly. Although he was not particularly close to Guo Huai, or rather, his classmates didn’t have much of a relationship with Guo Huai—after all, they had only been together for less than a semester, so their friendship wasn’t profound—Liao Yu focused intently on Feng Yuan, fearing he might indicate there was a problem.
"It shouldn’t be, if even Anernia can’t deal with it, the commotion would definitely alarm Emperor Savidi, especially since it’s happening within the Dream Domain. If there truly was a major issue, Emperor Savidi would undoubtedly be aware."
Feng Yuan spoke indifferently. Although the Divine Beasts were currently pursuing the members of the Hunter Organization, it didn’t mean that exterminating that organization was their top priority. That was merely something they did when they had spare time.
