With both Leon and Avalin in his arms, Eiro stepped into town hall. That was the greatest benefit of having six whole arms; he could be as productive as ever even when the kids were being this clingy. Maybe... that was why he grew more arms in the first place?

As that useless thought left Eiro's mind as fast as it arrived, he noticed the monsters rushing around inside of the townhall stop and stare at him.

"What are you looking at?" Eiro asked, locking eyes with them. Leon let out a slight yawn, while Avalin crossed her arms and huffed, repeating after her father.

"What you looking at?!" she exclaimed loudly, drawing even more attention from others.

"Now, now, there's no need to take that tone," Eiro pointed out, rubbing the girl's head with one of his hands. Though, frankly, he found it adorable whenever Avalin did that. It was just a bad habit that she should get rid of, or else she would have a pretty tough time making friends in the future.

Surprisingly, sitting around in the entrance lounge area, were Rashi and Kitsue. That part alone wasn't really surprising, since they tended to be fairly lazy. The surprising part was that they were here in the first place. Eiro expected that they were staying at their own homes more now that the town hall was renovated. This 'lounge' area was something that they themselves threw together as well, using large blankets and pillows.

"Oh? What's this? Did you bring us some snacks?" Rashi asked as she took a step forward, speaking in the trolls' language as she dead. She leaned forward and took a step closer to Avalin.

With a smile on his face so that neither of the kids could interpret the tone that he was using, Eiro spoke to Rashi in the trolls' language as well, "If you ever joke about eating my kids again, those will be the last words you will ever speak."

Rashi clicked her tongue, "Yeah, yeah, whatever," she replied in common, "So what are you here for, then? You were just here a couple days ago to pick up those tasty-looking horse things."

"Right, and I picked those up for... what exactly? Do you remember what those were for?" Eiro quizzed Rashi, who just stared back at him blankly. Kitsue sighed.

"You're going on a trip, and you're here to pick up Boju. Right?"

"Mhm, that's right," Eiro nodded, "We won't be here for too long. I... think. There's some stuff brewing here that makes me think we might stay a bit longer into the evening, maybe until the morning. I did plan in extra time for plenty of stops, and if we take that route, then..."

The demon was thinking to himself for a few moments, when Kitsue sighed. She leaned forward and took a closer look at the kids. She had a slightly weird reaction to Leon, which made sense. The way Eiro taught him to control his skills was by 'pulling in' their area of effect. With how close she was, there was clearly some influence left. Kitsue was sniffling and rubbing her nose and eyes, as though she just inhaled something weird. Eiro just sighed inwardly and exerted some influence over her. Just enough to 'reset' her mind for a moment. As this seemingly worked pretty well, Kitsue's attention drifted away from Leon and over to Avalin, as if she was actively trying to avoid the former now.

"What a pretty girl you are!" Kitsue said with a broad smile. She clearly didn't really think so, but she knew what people liked to hear.

Avalin smiled smugly, nodding her head as she pressed her arms onto her hips, "Mhm! Daddy tells me I'm the prettiest girl in the world every single day!"

"He does, huh?" Kitsue tried to hold back a laugh, considering who it was they were standing in front of. But something about seeing Eiro with two kids in his arms made him a lot less intimidating, "That's really nice of him!"

"Mhm!" Avalin grinned happily, though she started blinking a bit rapidly, "Ow, daddy... my eyes hurt again..."

"Oh, honey, I'm sorry, I forgot. Can you take your contacts out like this, or do you want me to?" Eiro asked, snapping out of his planning-mode.

"You do it..."

"Okay, okay, but just this once," Eiro smiled lightly as he carefully held his fingers toward both of Avalin's eyes. With some swift magic, he pulled the special contact-lenses she was wearing off of her eyes. Instead of a dull gray, they were now a cascading series of every colour of the rainbow. They had been bothering her recently. They were getting a bit older by now... usually, Eiro used magic to repair and clean them to the point where she could keep wearing them safely, but that also always had its limits. Once Avalin turned 15 and her abilities properly settled into her body and soul, he should be able to take her 'priestess' status from her and free her from those colour-changing eyes, but for the time being, she still had to deal with these charades. However, as Avalin looked back at the two pretty monster women in front of her that were being so nice, Rashi in particular took a confused step backward.

"Those eyes, she..." Rashi stared at Eiro confused, "Isn't that the Holy Priestess? That girl we were supposed to-"

"Yes, she is. I'm surprised you know this. I certainly didn't when I was part of the horde back then," Eiro pointed out, and Rashi was stunned.

"You... you stole her? How did you- How did a demon steal the holy priestess?"

"I didn't steal anyone," Eiro ground his teeth. They were talking in the trolls' language, so that Avalin and Leon wouldn't understand, "I... rescued her. But that's unimportant. How do you know about her?"

Rashi let out a long sigh, as if she was annoyed she had to explain something like this, "I was already a leader back then... I was made as a leader to the trolls. That's why I was given some knowledge of what our mission was. We should cause chaos in important towns while The Sun used the distraction that chaos caused to kidnap... her. And I guess you managed to get there before him."

"... Somewhat," Eiro replied, "And to make it very clear, if you ever say this in front of her in a language she actually understands, I'm going to kill you, okay?"

"Yeah, yeah," Rashi groaned, already turning around. Though, she was clearly pretty uncomfortable that suddenly the Holy Priestess was here, carried around by a demon of all things while calling him 'dad'. That was the last thing you would expect. That being the case, it was time to move on. Eiro walked past the two of them and made his way toward the stairs. Right then, he could hear Avalin tell him not to listen in for a while, and coincidentally at that same time... Arc had bitten off a chunk of his tongue?

"Oh by- Again? Seriously?" Eiro hesitated for a moment, considering if he should head over, but it looked like Clementine was able to handle it. Worst-case, he would quickly pop over and then- No, okay, it was already healed. And Clementine was now drinking a potion that was... working amazingly on her, as usual. They were fine, getting cleaned up, and... Arc was actually apologising. Huh. Interesting.

While this all was happening, Eiro made his way to Boju's space. The highland Orc had been excitedly sitting in his bedroom, his bags packed. Though, his 'bags' only contained a couple changes of clothes. Only the bare necessities for him.

"Hm..." Eiro knocked on the door, and Boju jumped off the edge of his bed immediately. He rushed to the door excitedly.

"My Lord! You're here, I was so excited I could barely sleep last night, and I-"

"Calm down, calm down," Eiro smiled, "We're not in a rush. It also looks like we're not leaving quite yet."

"Oh... when will we..?" freewёbnoνel.com

"We'll spend the day here in town, and then head out either in the evening, or early in the morning before even dawn comes aoround," Eiro explained, "Don't worry, it won't be long until we can head out. And first, how about you say hello?"

Boju realised that Eiro was carrying Avalin and Leon. Since he had been sleeping over at the house whenever he came to give a report, Boju had met everyone in the family already. He nodded deeply, almost bowing to the kids, "I hope you two are well. I'm very happy to get the chance to travel with you."

Avalin in particular smiled broadly. She pulled on Eiro's arm and whispered something behind her hand, trying to hide it from Boju. The demon raised a brow, "Oh, that's what that was for. Yes, of course, hold on."

Eiro quickly snapped his finger. A few moments later, a duplicate appeared, blinking through the building in multiple steps to move as fast as he possible could, holding a small, folded up piece of paper. That duplicate gave it to the real Eiro, who gave it to Avalin. And Avalin, with a shy smile, held forward the paper.

"W-What is this..?" Boju asked, really not sure what to do or say. He slowly took the piece of paper and folded it open. It was a simple drawing of basically the whole family. Avalin's siblings, plus Ariella and Hannah. Armodeus was there as well, and even James, Krog, and Jess were at the sides. And right next to Eiro and Avalin was Boju.

"She spent quite a while on this. I guess she wanted to give it to you," Eiro explained.
