Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 116: A Tight Spot
Chapter 116: A Tight Spot
Thane had over a thousand thoughts processing through his head, all at once as his wife’s fingers glided from his chest towards his crotch.
He reached for her wrist, giving it a tight enough squeeze, "Not tonight, hun." He grunted, elevating into a sit up position.
Brooke made a face, "See!" She pointed haphazardly at him, "My husband doesn’t really like me." She said, sounding lightheaded.
Thane gently set her head on his shoulder and covered her with his jacket.
Sinking into his scent she let out a yawn, as her eyelids felt heavy, "He’s just putting up with me."
"Really? Is that what you think I’m doing to you Brooke?" He asked, knowing fully well she wasn’t in a right frame of mind to give him an answer.
He rubbed her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze, "You really know how to shoot a man where it hurts." He said, to an already passed out Brooke.
"The Rosamunds have arrived." A maid announced from the dining room door.
Mallory tensed up when she heard her family was around, she immediately got up to go greet them first and try to explain things to them. But knowing her father, Mallory doubted he would just accept the current situation.
Sophia tried to stop her, but her husband raised his palm, allowing it. He knew not to go looking for trouble while things were still peaceful.
Matthew watched her run off, and felt the urge to go after her, she looked like a nervous mess, and he felt somewhat responsible. He noticed she left her book on the table and quietly picked it up and placed it on his lap.
"Excuse me father, I have to take this call." Edward announced, picking up his phone from his table. Zachiel closed his eyes and nodded slightly giving his permission.
Sloane’s eyes followed Edward as he marched out of the hall with his phone pressed to his ear. She averted her gaze to her husband, who was on his third glass of alcohol, with his food completely untouched.
She rolled her eyes, and let out a slight huff. Some seconds later, she reached for the dinner fork and ’accidentally’ knocked over her glass of wine all over her lap.
"Oh my!" She jumped out of her seat, she started rubbing on her clothes, but it only made the stain spread.
"Father, please, could I go fix this in the bathroom?" She asked.
Sophia glared sharply, "How dare you disrupt our dinner?! Do you want to get punished?!"
The old man nodded, "Leave."
Sloane widened her eyes, stunned that he actually agreed, "Thank you father!" She said swiping her phone off the table. She quietly walked out of the dining room, and retired to the bathroom.
She looked around the hallway for a bit until she heard Edward’s voice from one of the rooms downstairs. She quietly stood in front of the door, and gently pushed it back with her foot, enough so she wouldn’t draw his attention and enough to hear clearly what he said.
In a loud whisper, Edward stressed, "I’ve guaranteed you that my son, William will gain the inheritance. Thane’s fake marriage has nothing to do with the business."
Sloane guessed that he must’ve been speaking to someone from the company, perhaps a board member.
"Just keep the others in check somehow, we can’t afford to have anyone with second thoughts. With a little push out plan can-"
*Ring*
Sloane jumped in a panic when her phone started to ring all of a sudden. She immediately turned to run away, but Edward marched over to the door and grabbed her by the wrist, then pulled her into the room.
"Sloane?" He arched his brows not realizing who he had dragged inside.
She frowned, "Let go of my hand Edward!"
"What were you doing out there?" He demanded, locking the door.
"Can’t you use your fucking eyes anymore? Take a look at my dress." She groaned, drawing his attention to the blue body hug dress she had on.
Edward’s eyes stayed on her body while he spoke, "There’s about two more bedrooms before this, why didn’t you go there?" He questioned, gripping tightly onto her wrist.
She hissed from the pain, "I could say the same to you, why did you have to answer the call so far from the dining hall? It’s almost as if you’re hiding something. Isn’t it?" She asked in a suggestive tone.
"Tch." He released her hand, "I don’t have time to listen to your bullshit."
Rubbing her wrists together she huffed,"Of course you don’t, you’re too busy with buying that boring wife of yours expensive gifts."
Edward lifted the corners of his mouth into a slight grin, he took one good look at Sloane, who was younger than his wife, and placed effort into keeping her figure.
"You have no one but yourself to blame for that, you chose to be with my generic brother instead." He gloated, "You reap what you sow."
Sloane pushed his chest back and walked over to the middle of the room, she sat on the bed and crossed her legs. "I don’t regret my decision." She said.
"It was either that or become your mistress-"
Edward interjected, his fists balled, "I told you I would’ve convinced mother into accepting you."
Sloane laughed, "The old hag hates me to death, I would’ve been your miserable side piece, begging for scraps."
"How is your life now much different from what you described?" He approached the bed, maintaining eye contact, "You’re with my spineless brother whom the family barely recognizes. I’d say, you should’ve made the wise choice and chosen me back then." He rested his hands on her shoulders, and gave them a firm squeeze.
Sloane traced her gaze from his lustful eyes to the wedding ring on his finger. She let out a sadistic laugh and abruptly got off the bed.
She looked over her shoulder, her hand hung on the door handle, a twisted smile on her face.
"I’ll have you know Edward, I’m a woman of class. I’m sure you know that better than anyone, that I never go back to my leftovers."
