COTE : Is Talent Everything? (Rewrite)-Chapter 98 - 95: A Subsequent Problem
Chapter 98 - 95: A Subsequent Problem
As usual, I woke up early in the morning. When I checked the clock, it was only 6 a.m. Feeling a slight ache in my body, I slowly sat up.
Looking at Hachiman sleeping beside me, I felt my face grow hot as I recalled last night.
"W-wait, did I really... with Hachiman...?!"
We were both in bed, completely unclothed. The reason for that should be obvious without saying.
"I had no idea Hachiman was so... big... But I guess that part was... good..."
Last night, we gave each other our first times. He was so passionate and assertive, and though it was painfully intense at first, before I knew it, the pain had turned into pleasure.
...In fact, by the end, I was the one who couldn't hold back...
"D-does he think I'm some kind of... shameless girl...?"
Of course, he was my first and only. But his skills were so incredible—it was like he knew my body better than I did, and I ended up drowning in pleasure.
"Mmm..."
While I was lost in my thoughts, Hachiman's breathing shifted, and I heard a small murmur. It seemed he had woken up. He sat up slightly and turned his sleepy eyes toward me.
"Morning, Hiyori."
"G-good morning!"
My voice unintentionally shot up. But I couldn't help it—just remembering last night made it hard to even look him in the eye.
"Uh, you feeling okay?"
He asked somewhat awkwardly. The first thing he did after waking up was check on me. That small gesture made me happy, and I felt my cheeks relax into a smile.
"I might've gone a little too hard last night. You don't have any discomfort or anything?"
"Um..."
I hadn't moved much since waking up, so I wasn't sure. But when I shifted slightly—
"Ow—!!"
"! You okay?!"
A sharp pain shot through my lower back, and I nearly toppled forward. But Hachiman caught me.
"I'm sorry... It seems my... hips gave out..."
"...Didn't know that could actually happen. Then again, toward the end, you were the one on top—"
"W-why would you say something so embarrassing?!!"
I love Hachiman, but his complete lack of tact is just unacceptable!!
I forcefully covered his mouth, and he frantically bowed his head in apology.
"S-sorry! But it's true, right? You were really into it—"
"~~~~~!!!"
Unbelievable!!!
His words weren't just lacking tact—they were outright missing the concept entirely! In a fluster, I grabbed a pillow and hurled it straight at his face.
"Oof—!?"
"Next time you say something like that, I'll get mad! I mean it!!"
"O-okay, I won't say it again..."
Perhaps realizing his mistake, Hachiman hung his head in defeat.
Honestly... How can someone be so clueless? ...Well.
"But... I guess that's part of why I like you."
......
After that intense morning with Hiyori, we took a bath together to clean up. Though there was some lingering embarrassment, we had already bared everything to each other last night, so it didn't matter much now. Hiyori still seemed a bit shy, nearly overheating at one point.
"How's your back? If it's too much, we can skip school today."
Now in uniform, I double-checked with Hiyori at the entrance. Last night had been impulsive, and I'd completely forgotten that today was a weekday.
"I'm fine. I can walk now, and we don't have P.E. today."
"Alright, but don't push yourself."
"Fufu. You're such a worrywart."
Her soft smile carried none of the fear from yesterday. It seemed she had fully overcome her trauma.
After one last check, we left the room.
But the moment I opened the door, I found a man standing right in front of us.
"Tokito?"
"Yo, Leader. I texted you, but you didn't reply, so I came to check in perso—... Huh?"
At first, he only seemed to notice me, but then his eyes flicked to Hiyori standing beside me.
Tokito's face twisted in shock, his eyes widening.
"W-wait, why is Shiina coming out of your room with you...? D-don't tell me...!?"
"...Tokito?"
"S-sorry, Leader! Didn't mean to interrupt! My bad, Shiina. Had no idea you two were like that... I'll get outta here."
With a look of sudden realization, Tokito literally bolted—taking the stairs instead of the elevator, presumably to give us space.
Exchanging glances with Hiyori, we sighed.
"Um... I guess we've been found out."
"Yeah. But if it's Tokito, it's fine. He won't spread it around."
If anything, we were lucky it was him. In the long run, having our relationship known by someone like him might make things easier.
"By the way, why did Tokito-kun come to see you?"
"Probably to confirm something I asked him about yesterday. Don't worry—you'll find out in homeroom."
Though she must've been curious, Hiyori just smiled softly, not pressing further. She trusted me completely.

With little time left, we hurried to the elevator and headed toward school. Though nothing had really changed, the memory of last night lingered in my mind, making conversation a bit awkward.
Then, heavy footsteps rushed up behind us. Turning around, I saw Nishino, hands on her knees, panting.
"Hah... hah... Finally caught up."
Catching her breath, Nishino immediately looked at Hiyori.
"Hiyori, you're seriously okay? After what happened..."
"Fufu. Thanks for worrying. But I'm fine. All thanks to Hachiman."
She glanced at me and winked. The sudden display made me avert my eyes.
"...You're way more energetic than I expected."
Nishino sounded more relieved than annoyed, seeing Hiyori acting like her usual self.
Then, something else caught my attention.
"Nishino, you're calling her by her first name now?"
"Ah, Hiyori? Yeah, after everything yesterday. We're past formalities now."
"I wanted to call Nishino-san by her first name too, but she turned me down..."
"That just feels more natural, so it's fine."
"But I really wanna try..."
"Yeah, yeah. Maybe when I'm in a good mood."
Hiyori and Nishino laughed together. It seemed yesterday's events had brought them closer—beyond just classmates.
A good sign.
As I watched them chat, Nishino suddenly cut her conversation short and walked over to me.
"What's up?"
"So, what happened with Okabe in the end?"
She whispered so Hiyori wouldn't hear.
"You'll find out soon. Once school starts, it'll be unavoidable."
"...I'm not satisfied with that, but for some reason, when you say it, I weirdly trust you."
"Don't ask me why."
With a sigh, Nishino returned to Hiyori's side.
.......
We arrived at the classroom with barely any time to spare—just five minutes before homeroom.
Okabe was nowhere in sight, and Hiyori looked visibly relieved.
Five minutes later, the door opened, and Sakagami-sensei walked in. But his expression was grim, his face pale enough for the whole class to notice.
"S-sensei, what's wrong? D-don't tell me there's another special exam...!?"
"No... It's not an exam. But there's something I need to tell you all."
His heavy tone instantly raised the tension in the room. Even if it wasn't a special exam, it was clear something serious had happened.
"Before I explain, let me say this: You've all done well. Starting from Class C, you've fought your way to the brink of Class A. That's why this situation is especially grave."
"W-what do you mean...?"
"As you know, any personal misconduct in this school becomes a class-wide responsibility."
Nishino and Hiyori seemed to understand, their eyes flicking to me. So did Ryuuen.
Sakagami-sensei paused, then delivered the news to the silent classroom.
"Due to criminal actions committed by Okabe of this class, 200 class points have been revoked."
The room froze. But only for a second—Ishizaki was the first to explode.
"T-two hundred points!?"
"As part of his penalty, Okabe has been suspended for two weeks, and all his private points have been confiscated."
"Haah!?"
A fair punishment, all things considered. But the damage to the class was immense. Losing 200 points at once was unprecedented.
Naturally, the room erupted into chaos.
"W-wait, seriously!? Two hundred class points!?"
"Due to the victim's request, details will remain confidential. But there is substantial evidence, including security footage. He was caught red-handed, with no room for defense."
"T-that's... After Ryuuen and Hikigaya worked so hard to earn those points..."
Komiya's't help but slump in despair.
Our class points had been 1,136—close enough to reach Class A. But with Okabe's actions, we lost 200, dropping us to 936.
And so, the day began under an oppressive atmosphere.
........
An unusual tension hung over Class 3-A.
Not exactly heavy, but strange—like something unexpected had happened. The cause was obvious: a certain man sitting at the center of the class, cheerfully fiddling with his phone. The current student council president, Nanami Yōsuke, was in an unusually good mood.
['H-hey, why's Nanami so happy? I've never seen him like this.']
['M-maybe 'cause of the last special exam? He crushed it, right?']
['That's normal for him, though...']
Normally, Nanami would've instantly noticed and shut down any whispers, but today, he didn't seem to care.
"H-hey, Nanami."
"What?"
"So, uh, we're planning to hang out soon. You free?"
"Oh, sounds fun. I'm in."
His unusually cheerful demeanor stunned the class.
But for those who wanted to get closer to him, his good mood was a blessing.
"Then how about next Friday—"
"—Hah?"
Nanami's eyes snapped up from his phone, glaring. Instantly, the temperature in the room dropped.
"Next Friday? You trying to pick a fight?"
"N-no, I didn't mean—"
"Say something like that again. See what happens."
The terrified student quickly backed off. The man who ruled the third years had just given him a look that could kill.
Nanami immediately returned to his phone. Nazuna, watching this, sighed and walked over.
"That was mean. He didn't mean anything by it."
"Nah, he was definitely testing me. Anyone who gets in my way gets crushed."
"...By the way, what're you doing on your phone?"
"Picking out clothes and the best restaurant on campus for the day. Nazuna, which outfit do you think works better? I'm leaning toward this one, but my hair—"
"Yōsuke... You're trying way too hard. It's kinda gross."
"Shut up."
