"Damn it, I only just joined Alpha academy and I’m being hunted by a flying
magic beast." He cussed as he ran with all his might, he was filled wit
indignation."How could I possibly be so unlucky? If I had known this would
happen I wouldn’t have joined this group of so called experienced students."
The escaping student was actually someone Drake knew. It was the top student
in his class. The young master from the Lauren Family, Zack.
Zack had been madly cursing in his heart that he was so unlucky as to run into
this Flying magic beast on his first run through survival training.
One should know that it wasn’t everyday students ran into flying magic beasts. In
fact a lot of students had spent a year in Alpha academy and had never run into
flying type magic beasts. At the height they operated at, as long as you were a bit
careful you could go unnoticed even if you were right under one.
He himself had heard that this group of students were very experienced at
hunting magical beasts and had good coordination that could get them out of the
worst of situations. Plus they were all at the peak of 2 star Mage level.
With their strength he had naturally been tempted into joining their group for the
survival training, and he had reaped many benefits. Since he had joined them
they had let him land the last blow on three magic beasts and had let him keep
their ears,so he had been exhilarated.
He had been following them blindly since then and had come hunting magic
beasts in this area. Even though it was a bit close to the center of the fallen city
he had been reassured that nothing could possibly go wrong, after all it was ’easy
to avoid flying magic beasts’ as they had said ’As long as you don’t provoke one
on purpose that is.’
Yet, they had run into one immediately after coming here. It was no wonder he
was so aggrieved.
As the building was collapsing, he was about to surrender. But then he wall right
beside him crumbled and he had a different idea. ’What if I escape?’
’This magic beast will probably be too focused on the others so I could get away
and hide. That way I wouldn’t need to have to retire from the survival training.’ he
thought after all if there was another option he would prefer to not retire from the
training and lose the 500 Mage points bonus.
He quickly jumped out of the hole, then using the unique attributes of his wind ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
affinity managed to avid all the falling debris and make a clean landing on the
streets not too far from the collapsed building.
Zack quickly ran away, he started to feel happy it looked as though he really
would get away from the magic beast. Yet, just as he was getting excited.
BOOM!!!
There was a loud scream he identified to be from the monster that had just
attacked followed by the sound of an explosion right behind him. It was the
sound that was made when something landed on the ground.
Ass it turns out the cloud of dust from the collapsing building had made it so the
magic beast had lost interest in the others that had been caught up in it. But it
had noticed on person trying to escape so it chased.
’I’m going to die!’
Zack immediately felt things had gone wrong he felt as if he would die the next
instant. He had just reached a junction in the road so he hastily rolled to the
right.
His hasty sharp turn had let him dodge the incoming beak of the magic beast
that had been aimed at his back.
"Crap! So close." Zack was frightened, if he had been just an extra half a second
late he would have been skewered by that sharp beak. He felt his back go cold
with sweat. ’I need to get out of here, but now do I distract this beast?’
he frantically looked around to find anything. He was surprised to see that not
too far from him was two people who were staring at him with shocked
expressions. He even recognized one of them.
It was the group of Sylvia and Cassandra!
When he saw the two of them he instantly thought , ’This is my chance!’ He
hastily ran in their direction as fast as he could. ’I will have them draw this
damned birds attention, then I will make a run for it!’

Cassandra had been on a streak as she easily hunted for magic beasts
everywhere. Yet, there were not that many powerful magic beasts in the outskirts
of the fallen city, so she decided to head deeper into the city.
Sylvia had been very much against this decision, but there was nothing she could
do to top this battle obsessed war maniac. She also couldn’t leave since it would
only be a matter of time before she ran into another magic beast, and she would
fall into a terrible situation again since she couldn’t fight.
’Peter, Paul, Drake where are you guys? Hurry up and show up already, this girl
is going to get us in trouble if she keeps looking for fights like this.’ Sylvia cried
inwardly.
She was feeling really dejected since she hadn’t run into Drake and her cousins
since the start of the Survival training, but there was nothing she could do. She
had no idea where they had been teleported to so she couldn’t go looking for
them.
She could only dejectedly follow Cassandra’s request to go deeper into the city.
But she made the Vampire princess promise that they wouldn’t go too dep anhd
they would not reach the core areas of the city. It was only after Cassandra
agreed that they came together.
The number of magic beasts they met multiplied over exponentially as they got
deeper into the city and Cassandra was 1excited as she faced battle after battle.
Sylvia didn’t participate in the fights and just let Cassandra go wild.
The Vampire princess seemed to go crazy at the sight of blood.
It was scary that she engaged in all this without even wearing battle armor.
Cassandra said she had turned down the armor when she had been given and
she only took the weapons she had ordered. A pair of short daggers.
Yet, even after all these days she hadn’t used them in any fights. And had only
used her bare hands in every fight. It was utterly shocking how powerful fer body
was.
They continued to quickly clear magic beasts and go deeper into the city. And
Sylvia was finally letting her guard down.
Who wold have expected that at this time, they would suddenly hear the sound of
a flying magic beast crying out followed by great explosive sounds.
They quickly came to take a look at what was causing the distress when suddenly
ot of nowhere a man appeared in front of him. They saw how he easily dodged the
incoming attack of whatever had been chasing him, but then he turned and
suddenly started running in their direction, that was when they realized what his
idea was.
He wanted them to serve as scapegoats while he escaped.

Zack was running in their direction when suddenly he felt a sense of dread drown
him, this time he knew he could not eveade so he reluctantly made the choice he
did not want to. He called out.
"I surrender!"
In an instant the defensive barrier erected around him, an the next second the
claws of the magic beast landed directly on the barrier as it rushed at him
The power of the impact from colliding with that barrier was so powerful it forced
the flying beast to retreat several minutes.
SCREEEEE!!!
The winged beast screamed painfully, the rebound from slamming into the barrier
had shaken it and not in a fun way. It drew back and attacked the dome like
barrier that surrounded this prey, it tried several times, yet, it couldn’t get
through.
Sylvia instantly identified the beast after taking one look at it.
Grade 3 magic beast; Golden Crowned Tyrant Black Hawk.
"We need to get out of here fast! That is a tyrant of the skies, it will kill just for the
fun of it."
This barrier was made to be capable of bearing the full force attack of a Peak level
Grade 4 magic beast, so the attempts of a Grade 3 magical beast at breaking it
was plain useless. The barrier remained as stable and immovable as a mountain.
The strength of the barrier both frustrated and incited the magic beast. Just
then, it suddenly noticed the two that were running away and turned it’s
attention to them. It was already annoyed now it would vent its frustrations on
them.
Cassandra immediately noticed when the Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk had
turned its attention towards Sylvia and herself. And she instantly knew things
were bad, and were getting even worse fast.
