Common Sense Hijack System-Chapter 57
Chapter 57: Chapter 57
Adam was shooketh, peeping from his cellie when he spotted a middle-aged dude standing nearby with a chill grin. "Yo, what’s good, man?" Adam cautiously inquired, his eyes scanning the stranger warily. He glanced around like he was scared Karl might suddenly pop up.
"Just chillin’, bro. Just scouting for someone," John casually replied, but his gaze was sharp as he observed Adam. "You look restless. Got some trouble brewing?"
Adam sighed, hesitated for a moment, but finally spoke softly. "Nah... nothing."
"Don’t front, young blood. You know Karl, right?"
Adam nodded, surprised "Karl? So, you know him?" he asked.
John faintly smiled, then slipped his hand into his jacket and pulled out a cellie. "I know... maybe not. But I got a reason to stalk him," he murmured, opening a video recording saved on his cellie. He tilted the screen towards Adam, and the video began playing.
Adam squinted, feeling unsure but unable to resist his curiosity. The video showed CCTV footage in an empty park—clearly showing himself standing in front of Karl, looking emotional, as if they were arguing. But there was something odd in the video. In the midst of the argument, Karl seemed to move his fingers, as if typing in the air, although he didn’t have a phone or any device in his hands.
The next moment, Adam in the video started acting strange. His body moved on its own, slowly he crawled to the ground, as if controlled by an unseen force. Watching the video, Adam jerked. "What the heck is this? I don’t remember ever doing that!" he whispered, shocked.
John narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp on Adam’s reaction. "Funny, seeing yourself controlled like a puppet? I thought you’d get why I suspect Karl. I heard he’s been seen in weird places, including around Spermberggirl. Some incidents there... don’t make any sense." freeweɓnøvel.com
Adam swallowed, trying to gather his chaotic thoughts. "So, you think... Karl did all of this? For what? How?"
John leaned back on the bench casually, but his look remained cold. "That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I think, you’re the one most likely to know what Karl’s hiding. You’re close to him, right?"
Adam fell silent, his heart beating fast. Questions started swirling in his mind. Does Karl really have such abilities? Can he control others just with his finger movements? Or is this just another trap?
John closed his cellie and stared at Adam seriously. "I don’t care why you know Karl, but one thing’s for sure, he’s gotten way too deep into some shady business. If you know something, now’s your chance to spill before it gets worse."
Adam felt conflicted. If he told John what he knew—about the strange system he had experienced related to Karl—it might help. But he also knew, revealing everything risked getting himself deeper into this mess.
"I don’t know anything!" Adam replied.
"Fine, you’ll challenge that dude named Karl again later!" John commanded.
John smirked coldly as he tucked his cellie back into his jacket, then stared sharply at Adam. "We don’t need to rush. Let’s wait until Karl’s shift ends. I need you to stay calm and follow my instructions well, got it?"
Adam nodded slowly, still feeling confused, but he knew there was no other choice. This guy seemed to know a lot about Karl, and though Adam doubted, his instinct told him to follow John’s lead, at least until he understood this situation better.
They both sat on the park bench calmly, observing the area around the cafe where Karl usually worked. Several minutes passed in silence, while Adam’s mind wrestled between fear and curiosity. He glanced at John a few times, but the guy just sat quietly, his gaze fixed on the cafe.
"So, all I gotta do is challenge Karl later, right?" Adam whispered, trying to confirm their plan.
John nodded. "That’s right. Approach him and pick a fight. I’ll be watching from afar. And, remember, don’t go off-script. I’ll give a signal if anything changes."
Adam took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. Now, he just had to wait for Karl’s shift to end and confront the guy he had been avoiding.
After some time, the Convenience Store door finally opened, and Karl stepped out, looking a bit tired. John gently patted Adam’s shoulder. "There he is. Do exactly as I said."
Adam stood up, his legs feeling a bit heavy, but he forced himself to walk towards Karl. Meanwhile, John watched from a close distance, making sure everything went according to plan.
Karl raised an eyebrow at Adam as he approached. "Hey, Adam? What’s up? You wanna challenge me again, huh?"
Adam swallowed hard, then tried to sound as casual as possible. "I just wanna talk, there’s something I need to explain to you. There’s something weird between us. I know you’re hiding something from me."
Karl chuckled, amused. "Hiding something? What do you mean?"
Adam tried to keep his voice calm, even though his heart was pounding. "I know you have some weird abilities. I want to know why you did that to me back then."
Karl squinted, his expression turning serious. "How do you know?"
In the distance, John continued watching, his gaze fixed on the two of them.
Zoey arrived, "Are you guys fighting again?"
"Tsk.. Zoey, so you’ve finally mustered the courage!" Karl brought up the SpankSome panel.
But, before he could type.
Bam...
"So, it’s true after all! You are that despicable creature!?" John grabbed Karl’s hand tightly.
Karl narrowed his eyes, clearly not fully recognizing John, but there was a vague memory flashing through. "You? You’re the one who came to the convenience store that time?" he asked, trying to pull his hand away from John’s grip.
John smiled thinly, but his gaze remained sharp. "Finally caught this nefarious scoundrel."
Karl squinted, looking puzzled yet annoyed. "What do you want from me? I don’t know you, go away dude!"
Bam...
John hit Karl until he was unconscious.
