Was Maximilian even planning on going on to meet with Palkus?

This was indeed a question worth posing.

Palkus had long dealt with the phoenix by now, and Maximilian was here since the start.

Ever since he had felt the presence of Palkus on this continent and the connection it had with his own daughter, his lord, and he himself, he began following him.

And truthfully speaking, Palkus should have sensed him by now; the only reason he didn't was because Maximilian was a 9th-tribulation Origin Emperor.

He was an entity that was the closest to a celestial, yet he didn't ascend because he knew of the problems the celestials of Portalia were dealing with at that point in time.

Palkus was also not paying any attention; his mind was heavy, and he wasn't even back to normal yet.

It seemed like the effects of the self-evolution were still present, and the young man had yet to get over them.

But it mattered not.

"Name me the emperor of this continent." He said.

This was the prize he deserved as the winner, and he immediately stated it out when the empress gave up.

The series of events that this battle had gone through were so absurd that they weren't worth mentioning, as a single spell was enough to lead the gigantic empress to her wit's end.

Palkus wasn't joking anymore. He was in no mood to do so, and he himself was having a problem dealing with himself.

The feeling he had at the moment was so chaotic, he didn't even know if he was in reality or a dream. He was so lost; time passed like a breeze and there came times when he just opened his eyes to find himself somewhere, not knowing how or when he got there.

The same happened when he arrived to the phoenix continent and here he was, fighting the empress and defeating her, yet he didn't even feel like he had done anything yet.

That feeling of satisfaction, that feeling of having done something, that feeling of… It felt as if none of it was real.

"Alright… You're hereby the emperor of this continent." The empress's eyes were full of shock, defeat more than visible on them, as she couldn't even hesitate to do what Palkus asked her of.

The second she said that, Palkus felt the wave of evolution rush within him, and then… The same phenomenon that had happened last time happened once again.

He… had evolved to become an SSS-rank.

This was fast enough for him, but having done this, he had nothing else to do in this continent anymore.

After the evolution had ended, he looked at his own hands, and once again, there was no feeling of victory, no satisfaction, no nothing; he just felt empty.

"Azeroth, let's…" Just as he wanted to tell Azeroth to go to the witch continent, he stopped.

He had felt it; no, he had felt them.

Two presences, one close and one far away yet they both gave the same energy as if one stemmed from the other.

One, he was very familiar with, and the other…

[Chaos Teleportation]

Without missing a beat, Palkus teleported over to the closest of the two energies. Not the one he knew and missed so much but to the second one he suspected to be the reason for the first one's arrival here.

"As expected." Maximilian looked at Palkus' eyes and said.

"You found me, young master." He said with a smile.

"Young master? No need for that, you're my father-in-law; it would be awkward if you called me that in front of Emily." Palkus was slightly weirded out, but when he looked at Azeroth, he understood that Maximilian must have something to do with Draco for him to call him that way.

"Alright then, Palkus." Maximilian nodded.

He was wearing a dark coat and brown pants; his orange eyes shone brightly and he looked at Palkus as if he were analyzing something.

"Speaking of Emily, what's your relationship with her? Are you both dating, or…?" He asked. He didn't know, and he wasn't sure. All he knew was that the two were connected to… a physical level.

"Uh, Um… We're married." Palkus was slightly embarrassed before he replied.

"I see, very good." Maximilian nodded.

"She knows how to choose." He said before he looked towards her direction."

"About that." Palkus looked where he was gazing and asked.

"Are you ready to meet her?" He added.

"I guess I disappeared enough." Maximilian smiled to himself.

Palkus thought for a second before he looked at Azeroth.

"We will go to the dwarfelven continent, then after a month we'll move to the witch continent." He said.

"Speaking of that, what are your conditions this time." Azeroth agreed without a word and asked.

"They're pretty much the same. Becoming the supreme researcher and… This one is different. I have to destroy the demon continent." Palkus replied.

Maximilian looked at Palkus for a second and, without a word, returned to look at his daughter's location.

"Well, isn't that annoying?" Azeroth replied after thinking for a while.

"That's indeed annoying, but after this, you will be an EX-rank. As long as you focus on your law understanding, you won't have much of a problem." Maximilian spoke without facing the two.

"Your journey to the prison should be smooth, and although I'm not quite sure what you will have to do once you're out of there, I do know one thing." He returned to look at him.

"You will have to deal with the most powerful entity on this planet after our lord." He said.

"I do know that too, but thank you." Palkus squinted his eyes while thinking to himself.

"Now that I will be moving along with Emily, I don't have to waste time going around. Once I reach the witch continent, I will focus mainly on reaching my goal. And the demon continent should be the easiest of them all." Palkus eyes shone as he thought.
