Captive Mate BL-Chapter 533: + - +
Chapter 533: +Chapter 533+
Silvia sat and stewed in half dread, half relief long after Angelo left for his room, building up the courage to call Asher to make her request.
She blew out a breath and dialed him up, deciding to just go with honesty.
"Silvia?" Asher’s questioning voice rang out after the call connected. "Did you find more information?"
"Not quite," she started sheepishly. I have a bit of a favor to ask you."
Asher went quiet but Silvia could sense that he was expectant and cautious, not pissed off.
It was late in the afternoon and short notice but even if dinner couldn’t work tonight, then maybe the next day.
"I told Angelo you invited me to dinner," She confessed, "I really hate to impose but... could you?"
Asher broke his silence with a chuckle, putting some pieces together. "He doesn’t know?"
"Yes," Silvia admitted, she had no choice but to tell Asher, or the secret she had tried so hard to keep could be casually discussed at the dinner table.
Asher’s laughter tapered off at her words, his tone carrying a note of seriousness. "Sure, I’ll let everyone know. Dinner is by 7 PM sharp. My mate doesn’t like tardiness to dinner."
Silvia took a long time to process Asher’s words, so long that the Mafia King had long hung up on her before she understood that not only had he easily agreed to have her and Angelo over for dinner, he would also help keep a lid on all discussions about Luis Caddel.
Her smile was grateful as she stared at her phone, rising to her feet to go give Angelo the additional information. She planned to be there early to show her appreciation.
She would also be on her best behavior, well aware of the image Asher’s mate had of her. It meant that Cain was definitely sitting this out, she also needed to rifle through her wardrobe for a decent outfit. She really wanted to make an effort.
Angelo was napping when she poked her head into his room and it made Silvia smile wider. This was simply what she wanted, for Angelo to have a semblance of a normal life. Usually, he would be wide awake as soon as she approached his room so seeing him fast asleep suffused her with happiness.
She gently closed his door and walked off to her room to begin her preparations for dinner.

Rosie sat in her office and stared at the ceiling, although it was the weekend and most of the companies were out because of that, sitting in the empty mansion was driving her insane.
She thought it would be fine because Lake and Davian were on their way but the hours kept dragging. She had gotten a little too used to the lively crowd in Caspian’s home.
She couldn’t even chat with Lake for company because they were on the plane, it was what drove her to come down to the company, she wanted to keep herself occupied.
But even though she was here, she had already gone through most of what she needed to do, reflexively making a report for Lake while she worked. And although it was nice to do that, it reminded her that she still had several hours of waiting to do.
Her phone ringing brought her out of her spiral, she hastily picked up, happy to indulge whatever would distract her at the moment.
The other secretaries hadn’t even come in to work today, the company was rather empty, only a few departments still open on the weekend.
"Hey," Patty’s sweet voice greeted, "Are they back yet?"
Rosie groaned and dropped her head on her desk, ginger hair splayed out over the files on her desk. "No," She grumbled, "They most likely won’t be back till midnight."
"Caspian wants me to move into the mansion," Patty wisely changed the conversation, knowing how impatient Rosie must be.
Rosie gratefully grasped the lifeline, "Will you?"
Patty sighed, "It’s about to get very dangerous, I live nearby so there’s not much of a difference really."
"I take it that’s a yes?" Rosie chimed in hopefully.
Davian fed her but Caspian was different, there was always so much food in so many varieties. If Patty moved into the mansion, she would get the chance to drop in anytime she wanted to stuff her face. Her boss and Mafia King would even happily drop her off.
"It is," Patty answered wryly, easily figuring out that Rosie’s enthusiasm wasn’t just because she would also be living with her Mafia King.
"By the way, if they won’t be returning for a while longer, why don’t you come over for dinner?" She went to the main reason she had called.
"Yes," Rosie agreed before she could even get all of her words out. "I’m coming right away..."
"But dinner isn’t even ready yet..." Patty tried protesting but Rosie had already hung up. She sighed and got to her feet, she might as well get to informing Caspian before Rosie came barging through the front doors.
Patty made her way through the kitchen, the last time she left Caspian, he was in the study room with Mafia King Asher. She wasn’t sure if that was still the case.
The one thing she was sure of though was that Mafia King Asher was still home, if he wasn’t, Caspian would have been in the kitchen personally overseeing the preparations for dinner.
She got lucky and ran into Jael just as she stepped out of the kitchen, "Jael! Hey, do you have any idea where Caspian is?"
Jael seemed to have been coming to her, he stopped on a dime. "He’s in Asher’s study. I’ll come with you, there’s something I need to tell you."
Patty thought about it, there was no reason for her to personally inform Caspian, and her Mafia King was rather intimidating.
"I just wanted to let him know that Rosie is coming over for dinner... actually, scratch that, she’s on her way right now."
Jael’s dark brown eyes widened, "She is?" He asked in pleasant surprise.
"Like she would miss a chance to," She muttered, "Could you help me relay it to Caspian?"
"Sure, sure," Jael easily agreed, "We’re having two more guests for dinner, and Asher just wanted to give a heads up not to speak about the High Council at dinner."
Patty wordlessly agreed and then started for the kitchen, she wouldn’t say a word of it regardless, but she appreciated being included.
"Katya made some mini tacos, you might want to come grab some before Rosie gets here." She tossed at him as she returned to the kitchen.
