Chapter 513: +Chapter 513+

Angelo was smart, he would know something was wrong if she just locked him up in his room like a grounded teenager. Asher’s turf should be safe enough.

"Sure," Silvia agreed after a lot of thought, gingerly trying to pick the assassin’s brain. "What’s the special occasion?"

"I’m worried about Nikolai," Angelo answered bluntly, stepping out first when the elevator doors opened.

It took a moment for Silvia to get with the program, her silver heels clicking against the tiled floor as they made their way to the parking lot.

"That’s a waste of concern," Silvia replied just as bluntly.

Angelo didn’t completely agree with her, but he couldn’t get the thought of Nikolai sending him away for reasons kept from him, out of his head.

"Did you really ask Nikolai to let me come visit you?" Angelo asked instead as they got to Silvia’s car.

Silvia got in the back seat and waited for him to get in before replying, "I’m still worried," She replied shortly before diverting the conversation, "And what has you so worried about Nikolai that you need a drink?"

Usually, she wouldn’t be so quick to take the fall, considering that Nikolai had been the one to ask, but the reason the Mafia King had asked was very important, and she really wanted to know what was going on in Angelo’s head.

Angelo sighed and relaxed against the cushions. "He looked really tired this morning, and it’s a little strange that he was the one who made me pay you a visit."

Angelo’s words stabbed Silvia right in the heart, she wanted to assuage his worries, but she couldn’t do that without revealing the secret they were trying to hide. Nikolai probably looked a hot mess because he had no choice but to send Angelo off for his own safety, but with how the assassin already acted with the little he knew, if Silvia told him that, he would go running back to Nikolai’s side.

Silvia still didn’t know what Nikolai planned to do, attacking Luis Caddel was like making a move towards the High Council directly, there would be a retaliation.

"He’s probably dealing with some turf war, Mafia Kings are really busy." Silvia made some generic excuse, "You’ll go back to him soon." She tagged on grudgingly.

Silvia had been excited to have Angelo over despite the grim circumstances, but if all he did was mope about Nikolai, the Mafia King would lose some of the points he had just generously earned.

Angelo shrugged, not looking too eager. "He’ll get tired of me soon, maybe I should just stay with you."

Silvia’s eyes glittered at his words, she would be perfectly content if all Angelo did was curl up in her office all day, but she knew better. Nikolai was putting his life and everything he had on the line just to kill Angelo’s father, if he didn’t go back to Nikolai, the Mafia King would come get him himself.

So Silvia despondently pushed away her happy imaginations of getting to see Angelo live the peaceful life he deserved. "Not a chance." She was quick with a response. "Do you want to go shopping after?" She changed the conversation one more time, completely out of patience.

Angelo had been pleasantly surprised by Silvia’s response, he knew that his boss had no love lost for Nikolai, so she never sugarcoated when it came to the Mafia King. "Yes," He agreed to shopping, his gaze drifting out the window.

Silvia sulked at being ignored, taking her phone out to make a call to Asher, to give him a heads up that she was coming over. She glanced at Angelo after the call, he was still looking out the window, lost in thought.

She carefully tucked his hair behind his ear, although she had barely gotten a good night’s sleep ever since Angelo made the move to try to kill Nikolai, she was relieved that the Mafia King was the one to catch his attention because no one else would be insane enough to try to kill Luis Caddel.

Asher’s club was lively despite the fact that it was early in the afternoon, and being here again took Angelo back to the days before he attempted a hit on Nikolai. Now he was here drinking because he was worried about the Mafia King’s well-being.

A lot could really change in such a short time.

They were received at the entrance by Asher himself, the Mafia King had a braid in his hair that stood out, and even though he didn’t smile, there was a happy glow emanating from him.

Angelo stared a little longer than he meant to at Mafia King Asher, wondering how he managed to look so happy and well taken care of, despite running a Mafia House. freёwebnoѵel.com

"Is it my birthday, and I forgot?" Silvia asked with amusement, not hiding her surprise at Asher being the one to receive her.

"I’ve got something important to discuss," Asher’s hazel gaze drifted over to the vaguely familiar Omega by Silvia’s side, something seemed odd about him, but he didn’t dwell on it.

"Sorry to ditch you almost immediately," Silvia turned to Angelo to say quietly, tucking his hair behind his ear on the other side. "Order a drink for me as well, I’ll be back soon." She said so he wouldn’t wait for her, but she also meant her words, she would be hurrying back as soon as she could.

Silvia closely watched Angelo walk off with a waiter in tow, only looking away when he went out of sight. "So, where are we having that conversation? I don’t have all day."

Asher cocked a brow, last he remembered, Silvia had a hulking Alpha as a pet, did she get tired of him so quickly? "Found yourself a new toy?" He asked casually as he led the way to his office, he didn’t think Omegas were her type.

When Silvia had called to say she was coming over, he had immediately thought about the dangerous man that Jael had bumped into. All they knew about him was his name, he hoped to find out some information from Silvia, even if he had to pay for it.

Asher was in the lead, so he completely missed Silvia’s disgusted and horrified expression,

"No. Never ask that again." She bit out frostily.

Asher was so surprised by her reaction that he glanced over a shoulder, catching a glimpse of her repulsive expression. He had misunderstood her gesture from earlier, when he thought back on it, they had come off maternal, but it was Silvia, he knew better than to associate that word with her.

"Sure thing," He muttered dryly, far from upset despite her explosive reaction.

"Sorry," Silvia apologized as they stepped into Asher’s office, "He’s very important to me, just not in that way.

"I didn’t know you had a kid," Asher teased, taking his seat. It showed that he hadn’t taken offence at Silvia’s reaction. The male Omega’s hair was an eye-catching black, just like Silvia’s, he could almost see it.
