Captive Mate BL-Chapter 496: + - +
Chapter 496: +Chapter 496+
There wasn’t any work being done in the room though, the tables all empty, and all of the men they had encountered had been armed.
A trap had clearly been set for when Nikolai and his men showed up but the Mafia King had crashed the plan, catching the drug gang off guard. It was reckless but efficient, Angelo had no complaints.
Nikolai didn’t charge right through the next door, instead, he walked out to the connecting room, his steps steady, his second gun tucked away.
Angelo stayed close, he was barely doing anything, it was like a full-contact tour. Just when he thought that there was nothing Nikolai could do to surprise him anymore, the Mafia King pulled out a hand grenade.
Angelo eyed the coat, starting to think that he had underestimated what Nikolai could fit in the trench coat.
Nikolai pulled out the pin and bounced the explosive in his hand a few times, then he opened the door and chucked it in, slamming the door close at the same time that bullets ricocheted off the metal door. freёnovelkiss.com
It was Angelo’s turn to snag the Mafia King’s wrist, pulling him back to the other room they had just cleared out.
"What were you going to do if the door was locked?" He couldn’t help but ask, unable to help being even a little exasperated by Nikolai.
The explosion was almost instantaneous, the thunderous noise eclipsing the dying screams of horror of the men trapped in the room.
It was good that he had immediately hightailed it out of there because the explosion blasted the door back, the metal door barely missing the stairs.
Everything Nikolai did went against the fundamental rules of being an assassin, it gave Angelo a headache. If the stairs had gotten destroyed, they would have been trapped down here with an unknown amount of assailants.
Nikolai’s eyes glittered darkly in the yellow lighting, "Scared of death?"
Angelo paused, even finding something to keep himself occupied wasn’t enough to make him want to keep living for much longer. He wasn’t scared of dying but he had been worried about Nikolai getting hurt.
"No," He gave a flat response, "But that would have been a stupid way to die."
Nikolai was amused, "What’s a good way to die?"
Angelo walked towards a door at random, things were already screwed up at that point, it really didn’t matter what door they chose. "I’m still searching for it."
Angelo mimicked Nikolai and opened the door without reservations, his eyes going wide when a hulking Alpha immediately reached for him. Usually, taking him out would be a piece of cake for Angelo but he instinctively froze for a split-second, the fear of Alphas deeply etched in his bones screwing him over.
It was only a split second but it was enough to be captured, the cold barrel of a gun pressed against the side of his head.
"Drop your gun or I’ll blow his brains out." The Alpha threatened, a manic tinge to his voice.
Angelo was very calm despite the Alpha’s words, used to being in situations like this. "Now this is a bad way to die." He said to Nikolai who was frozen a short distance away.
His voice seemed to snap Nikolai out of his freeze, the Mafia King who was easily amused by macabre things didn’t smile, he dropped the gun in his hand easily, lifting his hands in a gesture of surrender.
"You want me not him, let him go."
Angelo grew tense, of all the ways he expected Nikolai to handle things, this wasn’t it. He had been ready to break away when Nikolai shot at the heavy-breathing Alpha that was holding him a little too tight.
He kept his mouth shut, trying to figure out what Nikolai was cooking up, the Mafia King was yet to disappoint him so he had high hopes for what was to come.
He should have just let Nikolai handle the opening of the doors, his luck was clearly shit if he put them in such a tight spot after opening his first door.
Angelo considered his options, the Alpha behind him had a heavy arm around his chest, his other hand holding the gun to his head. He could probably try to break free of his suffocating hold, but all that that would get him would be a bullet in his head.
"Get rid of your coat," The Alpha went on with his demands.
Angelo watched on in anticipation tinged with disbelief as Nikolai casually shrugged off his heavy coat, black-hued gaze fixed on him.
The Alpha was a little caught off-guard by how obedient Mafia King Nikolai was being, but he knew better than to relax his guard. He made a move to back into the room with the valuable male Omega he had captured.
He would only feel a tad better after the Mafia King had been tied up and stuffed in a cell. He had hardly taken his captive past the doorway when a searing pain bloomed across the left side of his head.
Before he could process what had happened, the Omega in his hold had disarmed him, a prickling sensation in his throat.
Angelo slammed the door behind him, hearing the Alpha fall down heavily behind the metal door, his chest heaving but not from exertion.
If he hadn’t seen the knife in the Alpha’s eye, he would have had a difficult time accepting that Nikolai had been the one to throw it. He had been about to give the Mafia King an earful but not anymore.
Angelo pushed his hair out of his face and walked over as Nikolai put his trench coat back on. The knife Nikolai had used wasn’t even meant to be thrown, was there anything the Mafia King couldn’t do?
"Maybe we should skip that door," He murmured self-consciously. Even though he disapproved of how quickly Nikolai had been to disarm himself, he had been the one to put them in a pinch.
