Captive Mate BL-Chapter 474: + - +
Chapter 474: +Chapter 474+
Silvia glared at the hallway, Nikolai had waltzed in to order food with the landline. She could see the gloating expression on the Mafia King’s face and it really made her feel murderous.
To squeeze lime on her cuts, he hadn’t answered any of her questions about Angelo. It was already the end of the second day, his heat had to have broken by now, there was no way Angelo wouldn’t ask about her, so it meant the scheming Mafia King was keeping him hostage.
She paced for a while in the living room, it was already late in the afternoon, if she didn’t figure out a way to see Angelo before night came, she would have to wait another day.
Her blood was already congealing from how hard she was worrying, she didn’t think she would be able to make it through another night.
Silvia had left briefly in the morning to clean up and change but her black hair was still curly and wild like she hadn’t bothered to run a brush through it.
She stopped pacing when she heard the door handle turn, going on high alert. She had been waiting for one of Nikolai’s men to come pick up the empty tray, if they were here, it meant that Nikolai and Angelo were done eating.
So she calmly stood by the door as it was respectfully pushed open. "Wait out there, I’ll get you the tray." She said with confidence, turning around to leave. freewebnσvel.cøm
Her words seemed to have convinced the Beta, he paused at the door and nodded, closing the door, clearly intending to wait.
Silvia didn’t waste anytime after that, striding to the hallway. She clearly remembered where Angelo’s room was but the tray wasn’t in front of it, instead it was in front of a different room a couple doors down.
She really wanted to check the room in front of her but she was wary of alerting Nikolai. Although there was a slim chance the Mafia King would hear her opening the door, she wasn’t going to risk it.
The only chance she had to get past Nikolai’s impenetrable wall was to make sure Angelo saw her before he could stop her. So she made herself walk to the tray and knock on the door, feeling her pulse in her fingertips as she waited.
Angelo was still seated on Nikolai, the Mafia King refusing to let him up even after dinner was over. He turned to Nikolai with a questioning expression, it was strange to have a visitor.
Nikolai’s expression darkened for the fraction of a second but it was back to normal the moment Angelo looked at him. "It’s probably Silvia," He divulged reluctantly, knowing he couldn’t keep the other away forever.
Angelo shot to his feet like he had just remembered that his boss was still waiting for him. Nikolai let him go this time, he hurried to the door, the knocks coming once more.
He opened the door in a haste, finding Silvia on the other side just like Nikolai said he would.
She sighed heavily at the sight of him, pulling him out of the room and into her arms, closing the door behind him to hide them from Nikolai’s prying eyes.
Angelo stiffened up in the hug, Silvia never hugged him but it didn’t set him off, it just caught him off guard. He relaxed as she patted his back, pulling away to look him over.
"I’m so glad you’re okay." She breathed out in relief.
Angelo cocked a brow, the way Silvia had said it was like she had expected to find him at death’s door. "Why wouldn’t I be?"
Silvia clamped her lips shut, Nikolai treated Angelo differently so his question wasn’t surprising. She had a feeling that Nikolai could be eavesdropping on the other side of the door, so she wisely said nothing to smear his image.
"I was just worried," She smoothly avoided his question, tucking his hair out of his face, her shimmering black eyes taking him in.
"Your heat should have broken, let’s leave tomorrow." She boldly said, not caring that Nikolai might be listening in.
Angelo hesitated, he knew that he had shaken Silvia badly by coming after Nikolai and that if he went back with her, she would let him do whatever he wanted.
But that was the reason he hadn’t left the moment Nikolai granted him his freedom, he didn’t know what he wanted to do, he was a ghost walking.
It wasn’t that Silvia was too late with her offer, it was just that he would have never chosen her, even if she came the very night he was captured.
He was grateful to Silvia and he didn’t think he would ever be able to repay all that she had done for him but there was nothing left for him by her side. He wouldn’t be able to stand the idleness of doing nothing and he no longer had the drive to be an assassin.
"I-"
The door swung open behind him, Nikolai glaring out with an icy expression. He put an arm around Angelo and pulled him up against him, essentially pulling him back into the room.
"He’s not leaving."
Silvia’s look of surprise turned into one of irritation, ""But you already agreed to let him go."
Nikolai didn’t ease his hold, an obstinate expression on his face. "I changed my mind."
Angelo had a sheepish expression on his face but he made no move to break free. "I’ll be fine, really. I’ll come visit often." He spoke without really thinking about the impact of his words.
Silvia went pale, devastated. "You want to stay?"
Angelo shrugged free of Nikolai’s hold now and the Mafia King easily let him go, stepping back. He walked forward and closed the door himself this time, "Let’s talk in the living room."
Silvia pressed her lips together, grim expression on her face but she agreed, remembering to take the mobile tray out with her. No one in their right mind would choose to willingly stay with Mafia King Nikolai, had she raised the child wrong?
