Captive Mate BL-Chapter 453: + - +
Chapter 453: +Chapter 453+
Caspian headed to his shared room with Asher after breakfast was sorted out, he needed to get dressed to pay his mate a visit at his club.
Things had been great between him and his mate but it was difficult to miss the fact that Asher was stepping around him.
Caspian was just relieved that the encounter with the heat inducers hadn’t prompted his husband to lock him up in the house for his own safety.
He barely had a reason to leave the mansion now though, unless he was in the company of Asher. There was an in-house doctor and Lake was out of the city, so he just busied himself with running the mansion.
Between, breakfast, dinner, lunch and book-keeping with Patty, it was enough to keep him busy until Asher returned.
His husband often returned early and Caspian appreciated it. Phone calls with Lake were nice but sometimes it got monotonous being stuck in the house all day.
He wore a cream silk shirt with a deep v-neck and a connected scarf that went around his slender neck. Lake had picked it out on one of their shopping trips to prepare for his honeymoon, it was very much the other Omega’s style.
He dialed up Asher’s phone as he applied a layer of lip tint in the mirror, he didn’t need permission, but it would put his mate at ease if he informed him before heading out, even though he was heading out to see him.
"Hey baby," Asher picked up right away.
Caspian could picture the look on his face at his words, a smile on his face despite himself. "You forgot your lunch," He reminded him.
"I’ll have one of the men bring it over," Asher was already saying.
"No," Caspian refused hastily, "I’ll bring it over myself, I’m just about to leave."
There was a short spell of silence on the other end, "Thank you..."
Caspian hung up shortly after that, it had sounded like Asher had seriously been contemplating if to agree or not. He knew that if he let his mate have his way, he would rather drive down himself to pick up his forgotten lunch.
But Caspian wanted to make the trip, he wanted to spend some time with Asher. Maybe he would even get away with spending the entire day there.
The thought of that made him hurry, picking up the pace on his way back to the kitchen to grab Asher’s packed lunch.
Keith and Peter were right in front of the kitchen, no doubt waiting for him. Asher must have called them right after their call ended, Caspian was happy about this because it meant that he would get his way.
Keith already had the packed lunch in hand so they just headed out.
"Did Asher tell you guys anything?" Caspian asked curiously as Peter held open the door to the car for him.
"Just to bring you over," Peter answered shortly, getting in the driver’s seat.
Caspian relaxed minutely, although he had a feeling that if Asher had given them a secret order, they wouldn’t tell him. He was their Mafia King after all.
At the club, Caspian was relieved to not see Asher right in the parking lot waiting for him, if that were the case, it would be difficult to worm his way into spending at least a few hours at the club.
Keith held the packed lunch carefully, Caspian knew that he wouldn’t be prying the package out of his bodyguard’s hand— it was just lunch, he could easily carry it.
They went around through the back entrance, the men standing guards stuttering and falling over their feet at the sight of him.
Caspian was used to the fawning, which dialed up after he made the arrangements to have Asher’s men fed.
They hurriedly held open the door for him, parting for him to pass.
"Thank you," Caspian said kindly, he didn’t know why Asher didn’t like him hanging around his club, his men were all sweet.
He had been to this particular club before, so he knew how to get to Asher’s office, he took the packed lunch from Keith in front of the door. It was only then the Beta relinquished the carefully packed meal.
Caspian held the little black bag and pushed open door, it was just Asher in the well decorated office. The men that usually hung around nowhere to be seen.
It was strange to see Asher all alone, Jael would also be gone for most of a month. He knew that Asher most likely tossed out the men because he was coming over but he was still worried that his mate would be lonely.
His smile was a little shy as he walked in, Asher stared at him like he was the only thing he could see.
"I didn’t interrupt anything important, did I?" He asked as he walked around Asher’s desk, placing the lunch bag on the table.
Asher pulled him into his arms, his dark red hair bound back with a black hair tie that Caspian had gotten him. "No," Asher murmured, his face tucked in the curve of his neck, taking a deep breath.
Caspian’s next words were interrupted by Asher stiffening, it made him pull away, pale blonde hair fluffy. "What’s wrong?"
Asher held him securely in his lap, his expression turning grave. "Your scent..."
Now Caspian frowned, sniffing himself. "Whats wrong with it?" He had to ask, picking up nothing strange.
"Its sweeter, do you feel any different?" Asher studied him intently like he could figure out how he was feeling if he stared hard enough.
Caspian held his mate’s worried face, a reassuring smile on his face. "I feel fine, I can’t even pick up on the difference in my scent."
He knew Asher was still paranoid about the heat fiasco but he didn’t doubt his mate, he was yet to have a heat although the inducers were supposed to interfere with his heats for a while so Asher was probably right.
But his heat probably wouldn’t be here till the next day, the barest hint of his scent being a little sweeter wasn’t a cause for alarm.
"I’ll have Jael drive you back to the mansion," Asher decided shortly, leaning into Caspian’s caress.
A pout formed on Caspian’s glossy lips, "I wanted to keep you company for a while, I can’t even smell the change in my scent yet, you don’t need to bother Jael."
Asher fought back the urge to kiss him, Caspian was probably right but it wasn’t just about Caspian’s safety, when it involved his heat, Asher was also a threat to him.
"Jael wouldn’t mind," He calmly tried to convince Caspian, his hands on his Omega’s waist. "I’ll come back early today and take a couple of days off."
Caspian was still reluctant but he had no choice but to give in, if Asher was making so many compromises, it was better to agree.
"Give it half an hour," He still tried to bargain, leaning in close. "Does my scent bother you?"
Asher placed his head in the curve of his neck, sighing, "It doesn’t."
Caspian held him close, his hands sinking into Asher’s hair. It was nice to just spend time like this, maybe he should take a page from Lake’s book and arrange a honeymoon for just the two of them.

Nikolai placed Angelo on his bed and just stared at him for a few precious minutes. Angelo squirmed occasionally, visibly uncomfortable in his hoodie. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Like the devil on his shoulder, Silvia’s accusing voice came from his pocket. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing," Nikolai replied honestly.
"You shouldn’t be doing nothing," She scolded bravely, all of her fear of the Mafia King going out her car window. "It can get really bad for Angelo if he overheats, put him in the bathtub if you don’t know how to cool him down."
"For fuck’s sake," Nikolai muttered under his breath, tolerating Silvia. He really didn’t know how to cool Angelo down, tossing the Omega in the bathtub sounded less dangerous than wiping him down.
He gritted his teeth and made a move, pulling Angelo’s hoodie off— he was doing great already.
Nikolai had no plans to completely undress Angelo, and for good reason too. Silvia would probably forget herself and shoot him if she showed up and found him with a naked Angelo.
The assassin was propped up against the headboard, his collarbones splashed with red. Nikolai was starting to realize that he might have shot himself in the foot by undressing Angelo before taking him to the bathroom.
But the Omega’s strained expression had eased somewhat after his hoodie was taken off, he couldn’t bring himself to put it back on him again.
He headed to the bathroom, forgetting he still held the hoodie that smelled of black cherries until he was about to run the tap. He tossed the hoodie on the counter, making the temperature in the bathtub lukewarm.
It was unlike him to be so considerate but icy water would just be torture for an overheated Angelo, he didn’t want that.
