He bent down, picked it up, opened it and glanced at it, seeing that it held an employment contract with clear terms and a hefty price tag.
He knew, this employment contract was the one Isabel wanted him to sign.
Percy stared at the employment contract for a while before putting it back in place and returning to the bedroom.
Then, he sat alone on the bedroom sofa, quietly looking at the delicate sleeping face shrouded in the faint light of the sleep lamp, her eyebrows and eyes as dark and deep as ink.
…
When the first rays of morning sunlight came through the large and bright floor-to-ceiling window onto Isabel’s face, she woke up abruptly.
She glanced outside the window and saw the exceptionally good weather, with blue skies, white clouds, and bright sunshine, which lifted her spirits considerably.
She took a deep breath, sat up wrapped in the quilt, her feet not yet off the bed, when she heard a pleasant, gentle voice say, “Awake?”
Isabel was stunned and turned her head to see Percy sitting on the sofa.
The man seemed to have had no sleep all night, with faint dark circles under his eyes and a slightly pale complexion, but it could not hide the dazzling radiance that emanated from him.
Half of his face was immersed in the morning sun, reflecting a soft golden glow, like a magnificent golden statue.
Although she felt compelled to ask why Percy was still there, Isabel’s pace did not falter. She wrapped herself casually in the quilt to avoid any exposure, dragged the excess quilt with her, and walked barefoot to the mini-fridge in the bedroom. She took out a bottle of mineral water, opened the cap, took a sip, and asked, “Why haven’t you left yet?”
Percy frowned and replied with a non-answer, “Why are you drinking cold water first thing in the morning?”
Isabel didn’t answer Percy’s question but just looked up and continued to drink with a gulp. She then put the remaining half-bottle of water back in the refrigerator, went into the dressing room, and came out wearing a casual outfit. She threw the quilt she had been holding onto the bed and went into the bathroom to take a bath.
When she came out of the bath, Percy was still sitting on the bedroom sofa, gazing out of the window with a somewhat dazed expression as if lost in thought, making it hard to discern what was on his mind.
As Isabel wiped her wet hair, she glanced at Percy and then, as if thinking of something, went over to him, sat down, paused with the hand that was wiping her hair, turned her head to look at him, and said, “Percy, about my employment contract, do you want to think about…”
Before Isabel could finish her sentence, Percy suddenly turned to face her, his face instantly pressed against hers, completely filling her sight with his extraordinarily handsome features.
Startled, Isabel dropped the towel she was using to dry her hair onto the floor.
“Wha…”

Before Isabel could finish her word, her hand was grabbed by Percy, and then she was unguardedly pulled into his embrace without any warning.
Before Isabel could react to what was happening, Percy lowered his head without warning, covering her lips.
His kiss was powerful and direct.
The scorching tip of his tongue forcefully pried open her lips, sweeping unabashedly in her mouth.
His lips pressed hard against hers, as if expressing some dissatisfaction, entwining her tender tongue, twirling around, kissing her until she was breathless. Percy then slightly parted their lips, their distance still close, and their lips still touching. He opened his eyes, looking at Isabel’s still-open eyes.
