"Congratulations, No. 444, you are given a chance to make a wish again after accumulating merit again." This was what the man in a black robe, the King’s man, told him when he arrived at the Hall for he was called to be here.

There was no extra expression on the young man as he just nod casually and strode his way inside.

But the crowd is not an exception.

Other grim reapers who went there to send some souls heard these words and gasped in amazement again. They rarely heard these words but they frequently heard this when the Judge decided to give a wish again for No. 444.

Wishes are very precious to everyone because the Judge can grant anything that they want. To have this, it might take too long for them, especially that even as a grim reaper, they don’t really want to fight with monsters everyday.

Any wish can actually be granted with under consideration. The Judge already met countless reapers in the past who wished various wishes. Some wanted great power and authority, positions or even a chance to live a life which is normal because he thinks as they live for a long time, some reapers want to stop in service.

As the Judge of the underworld, he considered these wishes as a compensation for their service for such a long time. Anything can be rewarded according to your merit. Today is actually just another day of having a reaper in his hall again.

However, the unusual part is what the reaper wanted..

He actually just wants another weapon and nothing else. Although what he wanted is not an ordinary sword, was it too ordinary from what others asked him?

Besides... The Judge looked at the grim reaper and felt speechless.

This No. 444 had actually just come here a month ago for the same purpose.

As the Judge, he not only has the responsibility of balancing the world but it is also his duty as the King to look for everyone under him. He knew the reaper’s life background but unfortunately, it’s simply nothing.

Grim reapers are not like ordinary beings who were born from parents. They existed like magic who appeared out of nowhere. They appeared not as a child but in their adult state directly who already had the ability to talk and act independently. All they have to do is work directly as reapers to gain experience and strength.

He also investigates his life as a grim reaper yet apparently, this No. 444 is really just too dull and stoic.

He never had friends nor even a single companion to speak with unless necessary.

All his time, he only worries about getting stronger and challenges himself to defeat the evil beings around.

Even when he served souls, he was not bothered by them nor looked at the buzzling life of a human. He has no interest, no hobbies or even a simple desire to try living like a normal one.

It was quite confusing why he became like this when he had the opportunity to try so many things as he lived. Grim reapers lived so long that they tried many things like humans to ease their boredom. He already saw many reapers like them who enjoyed being like a human and some of them even developed emotions and desires that lead them to wish to be a human in their next life.

Almost no one was an exception.

No. 444 didn’t answer and just looked at the Judge without much reaction but he knew that he already decided to choose this weapon as a reward. The Judge’s lips twitched but could not do anything.

He waved his hand and the ancient black sword with golden carve embedded floated towards the reaper and landed on his hand.

No. 444 bowed slightly and left the room.

The Judge flashes and appears sitting back on his throne again and he rubs his chin, thinking about the young man earlier.

"Your Majesty, is there a problem?" A man wearing a black long robe appears beside the KIng and asks quietly.

"How long has No. 444 been serving?"

"It’s already more than two thousand, Your Majesty," the man replied.

"Two thousand? Then how many times did he have the chance to get rewarded?"

"Almost half a thousand, Your Majesty."

"???" The Judge couldn’t help but look at his subordinate. He was slightly stunned by what he heard.

"What are the things that he asked?"

"Other than sufficient spiritual qi, No. 444 had asked for different weapons and additional powers to defeat the enemies."

"Did he ask for a break?"

The subordinate unfortunately shook his head.

"..." The Judge was speechless again. Even he who got bored in this place and sometimes wandered around especially when he was not appointed to this throne. Yet, that No. 444 who has almost a thousand opportunities to leave here didn’t even ask for this and even a single break to take a rest?

This is the first time he was utterly speechless by such a ’dedicated’ worker.

He pauses for a moment before waving his hand in the air casually and the scene where No. 444 appears in front of him. He watches him go towards an office where missions will be appointed. The young man walks directly towards the side where the most difficult missions were pasted, clearly has the intention to pick another challenge for himself.

Just a few seconds after his command, No. 444 was back again. The young man looked at him with confusion so he directly stated what he wanted to happen.

"You will be appointed to serve the human world and send souls here. Any missions regarding the dark elements will not be on your duty for now."

The young man frowned. "Why?"

But the Judge didn’t want to explain and just waved his hand again. The subordinate on the side quickly stepped forward and led the reaper out of the office.

When the subordinate went back inside, he couldn’t help himself but asked the Judge who was monitoring the various places of the underworld.

"Your Majesty, may I ask why did you do that to No. 444? Is there something wrong with him?"

"Do you know what’s the biggest disadvantage of grim reapers?"

The subordinate looked confused.

"They are born out of nothing so they don’t know about emotions and desire. Like a white canvas. This made them the perfect one to work as grim reapers because they would not be influenced by anything and No. 444 is the perfect example. However, what they lack is also very important as reapers. Only knowing these would truly make them a grim reaper who existed for this world."

The subordinate didn’t actually fully understand why the Judge decided to do this. Even if a reaper truly knows emotions and desire, he also saw many of them become so obsessed with it that they forgot their purpose. It disrupted the job that they have to take and even others chose to become a human instead of serving.
