Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Vague
Chapter 151: Vague
That night when Qin An came back from the laboratory, he was visited by a dream again.
This time, Qin An wasn’t sent to see the Judge, instead, he could see himself standing in the familiar environment of the underworld he was in and became the once Senior Grim Reaper No.444 again.
...
"No. 444, the Judge has already decided in this matter. It’s no use in refusing." A colleague Grim Reaper helplessly said to Qin An. In fact, he really doesn’t want to stay in this conversation anymore.
This Senior No. 444 is too taciturn so all of them weren’t close to him. In addition, his temperament is too cold and distant, making no one want to befriend him. Yet aside from not getting close to him because he’s like this, Senior is already considered as a legendary in their line of service.
He is too strong for them to get close to.
But today, he really had no choice but to speak to him about the matter. The last time that the Judge called Senior, he was unexpectedly assigned to a special task.
Which is to take care and let that special person follow No. 444.
This news really shocked them. The Judge actually wants the legendary grim reaper to take care of an unknown person and follow? It is clear that Senior is someone who doesn’t like anyone coming close to him, yet the Judge did this?
But no matter the reason, it’s already been decided.
So even if No. 444 exudes a deadly air around him, he still tried his best to remain calm amidst the trembling of his body and firmly refuse his request to not take this task.
No. 444 left the office in a grumpy mood. The Judge clearly knew his temperament, so why force him to take someone?
For the first time of him being a grim reaper for as long as he can remember, he wanted to disobey the Judge. But his sober reasoning told him that rejecting won’t change anything.
With the increasing cold air around him, he walks towards the dungeon where he’ll meet the special person.
The guard politely let him in and actually started leading him to the lowest cage of the dungeon. This made him raise his brow in doubt.
As far as he remembered, the lower the floor, the strange and powerful the creature was inside.
So did the Judge intentionally leave this to him because others can’t possibly handle the person?
After a long minutes of walking, they finally arrive at the destination. The guard didn’t speak so he just went past and slowly walked towards the last prison cell.
"..."
Silence engulfed the whole place. His footsteps don’t reveal any sound as if no one is walking.
It’s really dark inside especially since they are at their lowest but they are not ordinary people so this darkness is no use.
He walks closer and finally notices a silhouette inside the prison call. That person is sitting on the ground with its back leaning on the cold wall.
His clothes were dirty and had many holes, not because it’s too old but because of a fight. It was clearly ripped by a sharp object and he can also see black blood from that person’s clothes.
He remained calm and stopped right in front of the cell. That finally made the person inside move and slowly raise his head.
Even though half of his face was covered with its dark charcoal hair, those pairs of dark obsidian’s gaze at him bluntly and coldly.
Both of them didn’t speak and just stared at each other.
At this moment, none of them knew how fate would draw too many turns and twists in their lives... and will finally meet again in their next lives in the future ahead.
...
Qin An slowly opened his eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling. His eyes were slightly unfocused as the scenes of his dreams kept on appearing inside his mind. It took him some time to adjust himself and finally awakened his consciousness to think.
He remembered his dreams. He remembered himself in his past life again and heard what the Judge wanted him to do. He wanted him to make that person inside the prison follow him.
However, the other problem was that he couldn’t recall the person’s face.
The prison was too dark and it was just a vague dream that he couldn’t even remember that happened in the past. Qin An was just certain that it happened but couldn’t remember when and how.
He just thought that it was all himself throughout his journey. If it was really the Judge’s decision which meant he accepted it.
But why could not?
Who was the person inside? Why does it seem like that unknown person has something to do with his life that was important? What happened in the past?
... How did he end up alone in the end?
And where was he now?
If he were to follow him, how does it go?
Was that person his friend? Or someone in his life that changed him? If it really is... why?
For now, Qin An has too many questions inside his mind that only the Judge can answer.
Who was it? Who was inside the prison? And why could he only remember this scene now?
Qin An... wanted to know.
He could strangely feel the faint eagerness inside him slowly arousing. He wanted an answer. He wanted to find everything that he seemed to forget.
’It’s just something you desire... but you have to lose a grip on it.’
Qin An suddenly remembered Han Suwen’s words.
A desire that he wanted to have but was left a choice to let it go.
An eagerness that someone’s been wanting to hold... was it this feeling? Because as of now, he really desires to hold the memories that he appears to forget.
Qin An didn’t remember but he wanted to be.
That’s his desire, right?
The lyrics of the song that they have to perform flashed inside his mind and finally, he slowly unveiled every bit of story inside the melody— putting this desire inside him and unleashing it.
