Moon took a deep breath and turned to face him, her arms crossed. "What do you want to talk about, Mr. Viktor? I need to hurry and leave your house,"

Viktor's jaw tightened. "I don't have time for this, Moon. You're staying here for Candy."

Moon scoffed. "Candy?" She sighed, "Or yourself, Mr. Viktor; I know you don't care about me; you just want to keep me close and see me suffer to your satisfaction," Moon stared at him in distrust.

Viktor took a step closer, his voice low and dangerous. "You think I don't care? I just pulled you out of a place where your boss was assaulting you, and you're mad at me? Accusing me of shit?"

Moon lifted her chin. "I can fight my own battles."

Viktor let out a humorless laugh. "Right. That's why you were about to lose your job, right? Because you had everything under control?"

Her eyes flashed with anger. "I don't need you to fight for me, Viktor. I don't need anything from you! Or anyone; I can survive by myself!" She tried to leave, but he was faster, slamming a hand against the doorframe and blocking her exit.

"You think you can walk away from this?" His voice was quiet, but there was a dangerous edge to it. "You're the mother of my child, Moon. You don't get to just disappear. And, take this as your stupid actions up on you, no one likes you now, not even your darling Aiden," Viktor chuckled darkly.

She swallowed hard but refused to back down. "You want me to stay for my child, right?" Moon spun around and faced him.

Viktor scoffed, "Our child, Moon, we made her together," He replied but immediately felt like he had said it wrongly.

He removed his hand from the doorframe and stepped away from her, putting some space between them.

"Of course..." She whispered.

"I'll stay. But, I will only tend to my child since I've lost my job and can't pay my rent, I could use your house for rent, then you can pay me for cooking for you, cleaning your house... I don't know, whatever duty there is," Moon suggested.

Viktor smirked, "So you want me to pay you for accommodating you?" Viktor asked, his brow raised.

"No. You asked me to stay for our child, I don't have a problem with that. But, I don't want to feel like I'm staying here for free, so I suggest I also take care of your needs which shouldn't have been my business, but I need the money; I'll leave your house the moment the moment I've gathered enough money. I will always come to see Candy; I just want a life for myself also..." Moon bit her lips, holding back her stinging tears.

She hated her new life, and staying close to Viktor would remind her of her painful past; she didn't even want to look at Viktor anymore; seeing his eyes stare at her and devoid of all emotions made her break within her. At least Viktor was the only one who knew her maniac side and still chose to love her, he always tried to let her know that he would accept her the way she was, but she guessed that time had passed, and he gives a fuck about her anymore.

Viktor secretly clenched his fists behind him when he heard Moon mention that she wanted to leave his house at some point, he slowly walked up to her and pushed her head up by her chin.

"You want to leave? You want to live a life for yourself?" Viktor chuckled and lowered his face beside her ear, "You're not leaving. Our lives? Candy owns it now, I'd kill that thought if I were you. Rest and be out soon, Candy needs to shower before bed," He walked past her and left the room.

Moon slumped down to the floor and cried. She wished she was left in prison, she wasn't used to this life at all. She thought she would have been used to it by now, but it got harder as she went on.

She was actually grateful to Viktor for his help at the restaurant; that scene back there had become the norm for her: get assaulted at work, get beaten, and get her pay cut.

Robert got what he deserved.

She slowly stood from the floor and walked toward the bathroom, after almost three weeks, she was going to have a proper shower.

Moon was used to Viktor's home; she didn't need a map to find where the bathroom was; however, as she walked out of the bathroom, she wished she had asked Viktor for a change of clothes; she couldn't possibly wear her previous clothes that smelled grease and ketchup.

"Oh! Hey?" She passed in front of the bathroom door, staring at Viktor, who was sitting by the side of her bed.

Viktor slowly looked up at her and pointed to the cloth beside him. "Your change of clothes," He said.

Moon nodded, holding her towel tight around her, "Um, okay, thank you," She replied, slowly walking up to the bed and picking up the pair of clothes.

She stared at Viktor, wondering why he wasn't moving to leave, "I've got the clothes, thanks..." She said.

Viktor nodded, "Then put them on," he told her, tapping his foot on the floor.

Moon blinked in realization, "You... you want me to get dressed in front of you?" She narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

Viktor shrugged, "Since when did you care about modesty?" He questioned.

Moon bit her lips, she knew her stay here was going to be torturous; she took a deep breath and smiled sadly, "I'll just get dressed in the bathroom," She walked back into the bathroom.

Viktor remained there, he was feeling very angry, but he didn't know why.

He wanted to ask Moon why she had left him in the past; he wanted to know if she never truly had feelings for him and if he was honestly just not good enough for her.

Apart from those, Viktor was also angry at himself for caring for Moon; he hated himself for going to save her when Robert tried to take advantage of her; he shouldn't have cared; he was not her business, but he still did.

It wasn't love, not even residue love; it was just what any normal human would do, and Moon was the mother of his child, he couldn't just sit and let Candy watch her mother get molested in front of her.

Yes, that was why he helped out, because of Candy.

He stood from the bed and paced across the room, a huge frown marking his face.

The bathroom door opened and he faced Moon, still frowning.

Moon paused when she saw Viktor staring at her; she gripped the hem of his loose shirt she was wearing, looking down at her feet, which were also covered with Viktor's oversized white sweatpants.

She didn't know what else Vikotr wanted from her; she thought he'd gone from the room by the time she was out of the bathroom.

"How many times?" Viktor suddenly asked.

"Huh?" Moon was confused, looking at Viktor for more explanation.

Viktor gritted his teeth, taking a deep breath, "How many times has he assaulted you?" He asked with a frown.

Moon bit her lips, playing around with the drawstrings of the sweatpants.

"Not talking? Perhaps it wasn't as I saw it? Maybe you both were role-playing? Is that something new you're into? Did I interrupt your fun?" He moved closer.

Moon frowned, "You're sick, what do you take me for?" She angrily walked past him, going over to find anything she could use to comb her hair in the drawer.

Viktor's chuckle was humorless; he walked over to her and snatched the comb from her hand, spinning him to face him as he backed up on the drawer, "What do intake you for? What do you take yourself for? A saint? We know that's a lie," He smirked.

"Let go," Moon tried to push him away.

"How many times, Moon! How many times had he put his hands on you?" Viktor glared at Moon, his chest rising and falling in anger.

Moon was confused, "You're not supposed to be worried about that, but if you insist on knowing, this was the sixth time, what's it to you?" She snatched her hand from him, defiantly staring up at him.

Viktor slowly nodded, "Sixth? When were you planning to say something to someone?" His face was losing the frown, getting a little softer.

Moon chuckled, "Tell someone? I've got no one, Viktor. No one would listen even if I tried to reach out," she replied in a low tone.

Viktor shut his eyes for a second, he took a step back, giving Moon some space. He looked into her eyes and sighed, "You have me, Moon, at least, I'm your co-parent -"

"No, Viktor. You're nothing to me, we're nothing to each other, we... we just have a child together, that's the only thing that has us connected. I don't want to mess that up by trying to be something else, Viktor; please, let's leave it at that," She nodded at him and slowly walked past him, leaving the room with tears forming in her eyes.
