Beastmen Love-Chapter 135: Life Matters

After around 30 minutes all of them were back and joined the training.

"You have to understand the energy inside of you and how it behaves. For example, dragons already have powers of Nature for being ancient beasts. Where does the fire come from?" Astri says and points at Cyprian.

"From my belly. My core." He answers.

"Exactly. There’s a difference between core and lungs. Wind and fire are things that are not possible to hold in your hands like rock and earth. However, you can create it..." She says.

She takes a deep breath and blows fire through her mouth, then she moves her hands to make the fire go to where she wants, like a dance.

"...and manipulate it with your energy." She says and then punches the fire creating an explosion.

"Different from rock and earth. It’s heavy and hard. So harder movements and energy is needed, but that doesn’t mean using more strength. You just have to know how to breathe properly. Breathing is the key. Come here." She explains and calls Galion.

She creates a thick wooden plank. She asks him to do it, she calls the new leopard guard and positions him in front of Galion.

"Break this plank with one punch." She says.

He nods, with a big smile because it’s an easy task, even if it’s a bit thick plank, so he prepares for the best punch he can give.

"Wait." She says, raising her hands. She holds his hand, making him blush, then position his hand around two centimeters distant from the plank. "From here. You can’t move your arm all the way back."

He tries once and the plank doesn’t break. Another guard tried and he also didn’t break it.

"In case you’re thinking it’s impossible, I’ll show it to you. I’m not doing it because you might think I used my powers." She says and then she calls Beau.

He positions himself in front of Galion, then he tries once and it doesn’t break. She goes to him and then touches his core.

"Now breathe from your core. This is called the diaphragm. And when you punch, don’t hold your breath. Let it go as it’s part of your punch."

She shows it to him but on the air. He nods and concentrates, takes a deep breath and:

"Huh!"

He punches it and then he breaks the plank in half. But from his mouth, he blew like a ball of wind that punched Galion far away, taking everyone by surprise, including himself.

Astri smiles proudly and chuckles.

"That was amazing. You’re finding your powers, love. Are you all right, Galion?" She says.

"Yeah.. I’m not holding the plank anymore." Galion says standing up slowly far away from them.

"What was that?" Beau asks, amazed.

"You’re a whale. I must have imagined you would have the ability to use the sounds somehow. You can sense the vibrations in the water with the sounds you make as a whale, right? You can do the same outside. And also amplify the sound to use as an attack, just like you did now." She explains.

Beau is happy that he’s finding his powers. He can’t wait to learn more things he can do. He hugs Astri and kisses her lips.

"Thank you, my love!"

"You’re welcome." She chuckles while he hugs tightly lifting her from the ground.

From nowhere they hear screaming from the front gate. They run to the front to find several males desperate, and two of them are carrying a limp female. She’s a little fat and everyone can say she’s swollen.

"PLEASE! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! LADY ASTRI AND LORD CLAUD!" They scream.

"Let them come in." Astri says.

Galion nods to the guards on the gates and they let the males bring the female inside. They start to speak all at the same time, desperate and in great pain.

"SILENCE!!" Claud loudly says and they stop.

"Put her here on the ground. Quick." Astri says, kneeling on the ground.

They lay down the female, and then Astri and Claud start to examine her quickly. Claud puts his ear on her chest and tries to hear her breathing too.

"Her heart stopped.." Claud says.

"She can’t be dead!!" A male cries loudly.

Astri puts two fingers on the female’s pulse and then on her neck while the males say she closed her eyes on their way there. She was having a hard time breathing, then it got worse and they decided to come after them when they saw her losing consciousness.

"I can feel something pulsing yet." Astri says and quickly starts to make chest contractions on the females counting the time.

"What are you doing to her? Why are you hurting her?" Another male tries to move forward.

"Her heart stopped but she’s not dead yet. The heart needs to keep beating to pump blood to other parts of the body. I’m keeping the heart beating and making it wake up again in other words." Astri explains.

Astri keeps making chest compressions for several seconds and then checks the pulse again. She goes back to doing it, and after several seconds, she checks the pulse again and smiles.

She nods to Claud, and he puts his head on her chest again. He smiles too and sees her chest moving up and down again.

"She’s back." Claud says.

The males take a very relieved breath, emotional and rubbing their spousal marks that are burning less and less.

"Now tell us her routine. What she does do daily and what she eats?" Astri asks the spouses.

The spouses tell them that she’s basically a spoiled female, as usual, however, she doesn’t exercise or walk much. She eats a lot and what worried Astri the most was the quantity of salt she eats.

Claud and Astri explain the problems in her routine. And Astri tells the importance of exercising, eating balanced meals, and not eating only fat meat. She explains what happens to the body when too much fat meat is eaten and also what the excess of salt does to the body. She presses the female’s body’s ankle and shows them the mark of her hand, showing how swollen she is due to the salt excess.

Everyone is amazed by her knowledge and also shocked that the female almost died from eating too much.

Astri asks them to bring her to the hospital they built. There the doctors will watch her all the time.

"But what if her heart stops again? Only you know these compressions. Please Lady Astri, we will repay you! You and Lord Claud need to stay with her. We have young cubs to raise too, if we all die how will they live?"

When they talked about cubs softened her heart.

"All right. Take her and we will be there soon. If she wakes up, don’t give her nothing more than water." She says.

They nod, thanking her and taking the female to the hospital.

"Chest compressions? This is new even for me." Claud says.

"You did that on Cyprian too." Lee speaks.

"She did?" Cyprian asks impressed.

"Yes. But she kind of kissed you too. She said she was sucking out the water from you." Wayde tells.

"Oh... That’s why I felt my lips sweet after I woke up." Cyprian smiles pulling Astri to him, making her giggle as he smooches her neck.

"Can you teach me about these chest compressions?" Claud asks her.

"Sure. This way we can pretend you taught me."

Astri explains how chest compression works to Claud, so he’s the one who teaches anyone outside of its needed that day. The guards that don’t know she lived in another world are always impressed with her knowledge. However, everyone prefers to keep that fact of other worlds a secret.

Astri’s spouses decide who will be going with her, and soon it is decided that besides Claud, Zin is the most knowledgeable about medicine, so both of them accompany Astri to stay with the female who almost died.

Inside the hospital, Astri watched the female as closely as possible. Always checks her vitals, trying to measure her blood pressure by pressing her arm and counting her heartbeats.

The hospital is a wide cabin, with wooden cots around where the diseases and wounded stay. The female is still unconscious but Astri believes she’s better and might be waking up soon.

Astri spots a little boy carrying a crate for a doctor and then going outside bringing another crate with dirty cloths. The doctor who was Astri and Zin’s teacher passes and she stops him to ask:

"Who is that boy, doc?"

"His name is Hopin. He asked to help us somehow because he doesn’t have where to stay."

"What happened to him?"

"He lost his family. He was by himself in the probation area, the guards had let him in because no one wanted to take care of him, and he said he wanted to try finding a place to work. He’s helping us now."

"Why did no one want to keep him?" She asks.

"Because... He’s a rabbit. Normally they live around their own kind since other kinds don’t like weak spouses."

Astri rolls her eyes, understanding enough. She looks at the boy coming inside again. He looks frail, and his light gray hair is very messy. His energy is lonely, and sad, but Astri can see he’s curious and brave for living alone at such a young age.

Astri sits down near Claud and Zin, when Hopin goes grab a dirty cloth from nearby, Astri stops sewing and looks at him.

"What’s your name, dear?" She asks.

He looks around wondering if she is talking to him, he looks at her and thinks she must be the most beautiful female of that tribe. He realized when he saw she was looking at him, she was smiling at him and he was afraid she would joke about being a rabbit.

"Hopin.." He answers shyly.
