Chapter 877: Chapter 875: Flowers and Wine
Sally and Chexus were catching up in the garden outside the palace, especially about what had happened after she had left.
Learning that a Merit Stele had been erected in her honor was quite unexpected, but probably nobody would care much—just another statue in the square, a topic of conversation over tea and dinner.
“You said you don’t remember what happened before you woke up?” Chexus asked.
Sally nodded, “Yes. My last memory was holding my son… and then I woke up here.”
“Mmm.” Chexus looked at her, “The man who won your heart is truly lucky.”
“Bittersweet,” Sally responded with a mischievous smile, “Being partnered with someone like me means being destined to spend more time apart than together.”
“Being together all the time can become tiresome, too. It’s good to separate occasionally, to keep things fresh.” Chexus plucked a red rose, removed the fine thorns from its stem, “It’s not a rose, but I’m giving it to you.”
“Even if it were a rose, it wouldn’t matter. It’s a flower, an elegant and beautiful blessing. Any other meanings are just additional,” Sally took the rose, inhaling its fragrance, a genuine joy on her face.
“Miss Mirute, His Majesty invites you to come over,” Will came over, respectfully inviting Sally.
Sally paused, looking towards Chexus, “His Majesty?”
“It’s the Ruling King,” Chexus informed Will, “May I accompany her? She’s my girlfriend.”
“Oh?” Will looked surprised, glancing at the flower in Sally’s hand then back at Chexus, “I’ll need to ask for permission.”
After Will left, Chexus’s expression darkened, “You should be cautious. This Yase Bruchni is no simple character, and he’s well-known for his romantic escapades.”
Sally shrugged, “Simple or complicated, or even if a rotten peach blossoms across the entire star system, it doesn’t concern me.”
Chexus breathed a sigh of relief but still seemed worried.
Soon, Will returned, apologizing to Chexus, “His Majesty will only meet with Miss Mirute this time.”
“Alright,” Chexus told Sally, “I’m here.”
“It’s okay,” Sally smiled, then turned to Will, “Who brought me here?”
“His Majesty.”
Sally to Chexus, “I’ll go see him and ask about the Passage Order.”
“Mmm.” Chexus looked anxious.
Sally followed Will.
They were headed underground, and Sally curiously asked, “Why are we going underground?”
“His Majesty is in the wine cellar.” Will pushed open a wooden door, “Miss Mirute, please.”
As Sally entered, a rich aroma of wine greeted her.
“Miss Mirute? This way,” a magnetic, elegant voice called out.
Following the voice, Sally saw a scholarly man with black hair and silver-rimmed glasses, digging with a shovel.
“Your Majesty?”
“Just call me Yase, no need for formalities.”
“Then you can call me Sally.”
“Alright.” Yase set down the shovel, his gaze filled with remorse, “Sorry, my servants misunderstood my instructions.”
“It’s okay.” Sally knew he was referring to the small room where she woke up, locked up like a cage.
“My memory is faulty, I don’t know how I was brought here.”
“Is that so?” Yase continued digging, suddenly lighter in his movements as though he had found something.
Before long, a wooden barrel lid surfaced, “At that time, you were in my carriage. I had it checked; no one had brought you here.”
“Perhaps it was through space travel, at a random location.” Sally pondered, maybe when the 003 was normal again, she’d find out.
“If you’d like to keep investigating, I can help,” Yase replied.
Sally shook her head, “No need, I plan to leave Abel Star with my boyfriend, Chexus Aslanda. I might need the Ruling King to make some arrangements.”
“No problem,” Yase smiled in response.
Sally watched as he grasped the barrel lid, effortlessly lifting a large wooden barrel, that could hold over two hundred gallons of wine, from the ground.
On it was written the date—Star Calendar 11123.
“The year feels very ancient,” Sally said.
“Yes, it was brewed from wild Putao, Sally, would you care to join me in tasting it?” Yase’s face revealed a gentle and elegant smile.
Sally replied, “Thank you, but I’d rather not.”
“If it tastes good, help me take some back to Chexus, and I’ll sign the Passage Order too,” Yase said with a laugh.
Sally understood; she had to drink this wine.
“In that case, I’ll respectfully comply, although I’m no connoisseur, so I hope I won’t dampen the mood.”
…
She pushed open a wall, and behind it was an extremely elegant and charming wine-tasting room.
Yase opened a wine barrel still smelling of earth and poured half a glass of amber-red wine into a decanter.
Smelling the rich aroma of the wine, Sally asked, “What year is it now by the Star Calendar?”
“Abel Star Calendar 14976, this wine has been stored for 3853 years.”
“Nearly four thousand years of wine! Exquisite!” Sally exclaimed, suddenly feeling it was indeed worth tasting.
Wait!
3853 years here—then in terms of Beast World’s time, that would be over a hundred million years!
Sally was suddenly stunned, staring at the wine… After a while, she turned to Yase, “Did you store this wine?”
Yase nodded, “Yes. I brewed it myself. Today, while flipping through some old journals, I remembered it.”
“…” Sally’s smile twitched slightly.
Yase used a rag to carefully wipe the dirt off the barrel, then took out some empty bottles to distribute the wine.
“I better call you ‘Your Majesty,'” Sally said, watching him.
Yase closed the wine bottles with sealed stoppers, “Why?”
“I suddenly feel you’re very old,” Sally frankly stated.
On the Beast World side, civilization was just born, not yet formed, and he here was already capable of producing wine!
Yase laughed, “Is that so? How old are you, Sally?”
“I won’t tell you. A woman’s age is her secret,” Sally joked, not knowing what else to say.
“Sorry, I was presumptuous,” Yase said, sticking a label on the wine bottle and handing it to Sally, “Please give this to Chexus.”
“Sure,” Sally stored it into the Space Ring.
Yase’s eyes rested on the Space Ring on her middle and ring fingers, “Are you married?”
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.
“No,” Sally responded. She dared not marry; marrying anyone would only bring trouble for her.
Seeing her reaction, which seemed genuine, and thinking of her and Chexus pretending to be lovers, “Then, are you going to marry Chexus?”
“Chexus?” Sally paused, then remembered how they had pretended to be lovers to leave a place, and replied, “It’s possible.”
“The Aslanda family places great importance on bloodlines, are you a Variant Human?”
“Yes, I am,” Sally responded.
“How can you prove it?”
Sally transformed into a Beast Body, a small, adorable white mouse, then back into human form, “I am from the Beastman Clan.”
Yase adjusted his glasses, which reflected a faint ethereal light, “Then there should be no problem.”
“This barrel of wine, I give to you as a wedding gift,” Yase sealed the barrel and pushed it toward Sally.
Sally smiled, “A gentleman does not deprive others of that which they love, but I am a woman, so perhaps it’s acceptable.”
Gracefully, she took the wine barrel.
“Hehe, the wine has awoken quite enough,” Yase poured Sally a glass, “Please.”
Sally accepted it, sipping just a small amount…
Instantly, her pupils transformed into vertical slits, and she looked at Yase in shock!
That small sip of wine turned into an irresistible massive energy upon entering her mouth, sweeping down her throat and spreading through her blood, engulfing her entire body!
