Daniel got up from the ground to practice flying—but as he tried to do so, he realized there was a problem.

He didn't know how to fly—or even how to learn it.

After thinking for a bit, he summoned three of his Fallen: Vorak, Azrak, and Pride.

"Greetings, my Lord," the three Fallen immediately dropped to one knee after being summoned.

"Pride, if I'm not mistaken, when I saw you in the Colosseum Dungeon, you could fly. Do you know how it works?" Daniel's gaze landed on Pride as he asked. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

"Yes, my Lord. I'll help however I can," Pride replied respectfully.

Daniel then asked Pride to explain how flying worked, and the latter started instructing him like a teacher.

It turned out that flying required control over mana essence.

When an Awakened syncs mana essence with their body, they can detach their weight from the normal laws of nature. Mana, being a weightless force, can make the body weightless too if it flows in a specific way.

By injecting mana into the area beneath their feet, Awakened generate a repelling field against gravity. This field is controlled by mental focus and skill. The stronger the focus, the better the balance.

However, flight is usually unstable unless the Awakened stabilizes mana essence in three regions around their body—one near the head, one around the waist, and one beneath the feet. Still, the best approach is to flow the mana essence directly over the surface of the skin.

"I see. What's your recommendation? Flow it over the skin or form rings in those three zones?" Daniel asked.

"If you can flow it over your skin, that's better," Pride answered with respect.

Daniel nodded and began trying.

He slowly raised his hand and focused on the mana essence within. A warm, slightly stinging feeling, like sunlight brushing against skin, surged through his body.

He tried to guide that feeling toward the surface of his skin—not outside, but right along the skin, like an invisible thread sliding across his body.

With his eyes shut, sweat dripped down his forehead. For a moment, he felt something shift.

It was like his body got lighter. Like his skin no longer belonged to the ground. Mana essence flowed through his arm, from shoulder to fingertips… then to his legs.

And for just a second, his right foot lifted off the ground.

But a heavy wave of distraction slammed into his mind. The mental image broke. His mana balance collapsed. And—

"Ah, damn—!"

Daniel crashed hard to the ground, panting. But a crooked smile appeared on his face.

"Just for a second… but it worked."

"That was amazing, my Lord!" the three Fallen clapped and praised him.

Daniel gave a small nod of thanks and tried again. Unfortunately, he failed.

Still, he didn't give up and continued practicing repeatedly. Fortunately, after about an hour, he was able to fully maintain his balance.

"My Lord did it!" Vorak said to Pride and Azrak, who had nearly fallen asleep, waking them up.

"Huh? My Lord, you finally did it!"

Daniel ignored them and focused on maintaining his balance. He floated gently through the air.

With more practice, his balance improved and he was able to stay airborne more steadily. After another hour, he had gained basic control over flight.

"This is really hard," he landed and panted a little.

"With more training, you'll get used to it, my Lord," Pride replied.

"Thanks a lot for your help. Do you know how I can use spiritual senses?"

Spiritual senses are a type of perception beyond sight, allowing Awakened to perceive their surroundings at a much greater range than normal vision.

As far as Daniel knew, using spiritual senses required spiritual power and enough mana essence. But like flying, he had no idea how it actually worked.

"It's simple, my Lord. Merge your spiritual power and mana essence, then release the new force through your eyes."

"That's it?" Daniel raised an eyebrow. Flying came with all that explanation, but spiritual senses were this simple?

Pride nodded, and Daniel tried it right away.

He combined spiritual power and mana essence in his spiritual sea—it was the only place both forces coexisted naturally.

Then he directed the newly formed energy to his eyes and released it through them. Suddenly, he felt his vision expand drastically.

He could see all four directions—front, back, left, and right—at the same time. Not only that, but his field of view expanded massively, covering the entire training room, which was over a thousand meters wide.

It even seemed like it wanted to expand further, but the walls of the training room—apparently made from some special material—blocked the extension of his spiritual senses.

"This is incredible," Daniel couldn't quite put his feelings into words.

Right now, he truly felt like a god with an all-seeing view of the training room.

He practiced using his spiritual senses for a while to get a better grasp of their features, but eventually, he started feeling tired.

Clearly, his spiritual power and mana essence weren't enough to sustain spiritual senses for too long.

He collapsed onto the soft ground to rest a bit. He hadn't expected using his spiritual senses to consume so much spiritual power and mana essence.

"Now I understand why only B-ranks and above can use spiritual senses," Daniel muttered and let out a sigh.

Spiritual senses require a tremendous amount of spiritual power, and reaching that level of power usually means being at least B-rank. On top of that, it also demands a sufficient amount of mana essence, which again requires being at least B-rank to absorb properly.

With his current spiritual power, he could only maintain spiritual senses for ten to twenty minutes. He still wasn't sure about the exact range limit, but based on his estimate, it was somewhere between three to ten thousand meters.

He was about to get up and continue practicing, but just then, a message popped up on his phone.

"I'm here. Wanna meet up?" The message was from his friend, Joe.
